Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) March 27, 2008

Having innovative products has resulted in profitability year after year," said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. "We continue this trend with Dynamic NAC, which meets the zero network changes and additional infrastructure requirements for many of our customers."

As Students Head Back to Class, Alcohol Testing Equipment Manufacturer Lifeloc Technologies Emphasizes the Importance of School Alcohol Testing

As Students Head Back to Class, Alcohol Testing Equipment Manufacturer Lifeloc Technologies Emphasizes the Importance of School Alcohol Testing

Alarming underage drinking trends put student safety at risk, require increased school alcohol testing.

Wheat Ridge, CO (PRWEB) September 20, 2007

Lifeloc Technologies (www. lifeloc. com), a leading alcohol testing equipment manufacturer, emphasizes the dangers of underage drinking as students head back to school this fall. To combat this disturbing trend, Lifeloc Technologies now offers easy-to-use and reliable breathalyzers to schools at a special price.

According to the SAMHSA National Survey on Drug Use and Health, in 2005 about 10.8 million persons ages 12-20 (28.2% of this age group) reported drinking alcohol in the past month. Nearly 7.2 million (18.8%) were binge drinkers, and 2.3 million (6.0%) were heavy drinkers.

As a deterrent to student drinking, Lifeloc manufactures professional grade breath alcohol testing equipment used by school administrators and resource officers alike. Lifeloc's model FC10Plus™ includes passive testing for rapid, less invasive school alcohol testing before a dance or extra curricular event. Tests can be repeated hundreds of times in rapid succession, allowing event coordinators to test students quickly at a very low cost. Passive testing can also be utilized to detect the presence of alcohol in beverage containers.

Tom Kissler, Lifeloc Sales Manager, explains that "Inquiries from High Schools and Universities are increasing steadily as more and more of these institutions implement school alcohol testing for certain events. Almost uniformly, we find, these devices are being used for deterrence and intervention, rather than for school disciplinary action or enforcement of liquor laws. With this focus on student safety, we believe school testing has become a positive use of breath testing technology that is non-threatening and non-invasive."

Make sure alcohol is not on your teen's back to school list. Visit alcohol testing equipment manufacturer Lifeloc Technologies today at www. lifeloc. com for more information on school alcohol testing and special pricing.

About Lifeloc Technologies:
For over twenty years, Denver based alcohol testing equipment manufacturer Lifeloc Technologies (www. lifeloc. com) has served the business, law enforcement and corrections communities by providing high-tech alcohol testing devices. Used in over 35 countries, Lifeloc's breath alcohol testing devices are recognized for their ease-of-use, reliability, and long life. Lifeloc products have been tested and approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a part of the U. S. Department of Transportation, as well as multiple state forensic laboratories in the U. S. and in many other countries.

Consulting Company Donates Profits to CHIP

Richmond, Va. (December 16, 2010)- Impact Makers, a Richmond-based consulting firm that contributes its profits to charity, has formed a new partnership with Children’s Health Involving Parents (CHIP of Greater Richmond). Each month, Impact Makers will give at least $1,000 earned through its consulting business to CHIP.

Richmond, VA (PRWEB) December 22, 2010

Impact Makers, a Richmond-based consulting firm that contributes its profits to charity, has formed a new partnership with Children’s Health Involving Parents (CHIP of Greater Richmond). Each month, Impact Makers will give at least $1,000 earned through its consulting business to CHIP.

As a service-based organization, CHIP provides health and prevention support to children up to the age of 6 years. Team members at CHIP work with parents to ensure that their children are healthy and ready for school.

“We are excited about this partnership. All of what we accomplish is done so through valuable partnerships within the community, and Impact Makers will help enhance our services from many perspectives,” said Amy Strite, executive director for CHIP.

Funds will be used to support the direct-service programming at CHIP.
Support for one family can cost about $4,000 per year. In 2010, CHIP supported over 400 families.

“We have signed a formal contract obligating ourselves, regardless of profitability, to a $1,000 per month minimum payment and a $5,000 one-time fee,” said Michael Pirron, president and CEO of Impact Makers. “At the end of the year, we look at our overall profitability and make a determination as to how much additional funding we can provide.”

For CHIP, this means that less time will have to be spent on fundraising efforts, and the organization will be able to focus more time and resources toward the families it serves.

In addition to partnering with CHIP, Impact Makers will continue to support its existing partner, Rx Partnership, to help them increase access to prescription medication for Virginia’s eligible uninsured.
In addition, Pirron says that it is the goal of Impact Makers to broaden its community impact by becoming charitable partners with more nonprofit organizations in the future.

Beginning with a single contract and a unique business concept in 2006, Impact Makers has grown substantially in the past four years.
The company has more than doubled its size and profits in the past year.

“We are excited about our prospects for growth again next year,” said Pirron. “Our goal is to share at least $100,000 with our local nonprofit partners and the people they serve, who really need help during these difficult economic times.”

About Impact Makers
Impact Makers, Inc. is a non-stock, competitive social venture whose mission is to transform economic value into community value. By raising funds through free-market competition in the consulting industry and donating its profits to charitable partners, Impact Makers enables its charitable partners to focus less on fundraising and more on their core competency of delivering community service.

Water Intrusion into Subterranean Areas

Water Intrusion into Subterranean Areas

Water Intrusion Technologies have a permanent solution for removing and keeping water out, which is Electro-Osmotic Pulse (EOP) Water Removal.

Tarzana, CA (PRWEB) August 31, 2006

There are many stories about water intrusion into subterranean areas with most being horror stories. Many technologies are available with almost all being temporary solutions. Groundwater intrusion into a building can cause serious structural degradation, corrosion of mechanical equipment, increased maintenance requirements, and can make areas uninhabitable or even unusable.

Humid environments are known to promote growth of molds and bacteria that have an adverse effect on human health and worker productivity.

As the molds and microorganisms proliferate, indoor air quality decreases and health problems increase.

To improve air quality it is necessary to decrease relative humidity and lower the moisture level of the surfaces on which the molds and microorganisms grow. Water Intrusion Technologies have a permanent solution for removing and keeping water out, which is Electro-Osmotic Pulse (EOP) Water Removal.

Traditional methods for correcting water intrusion involved the application of sealants or costly excavation around a facility exterior.

In 1994, a team of researchers and the U. S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) began development of an innovative technology for the prevention of water intrusion in below-grade concrete structures.

This technology has been successfully used in basements, elevator shafts, tunnels, underground bunkers, crawl spaces and recently a city street.

The heart of this technology is strategically placing an Anode (titanium strip) on the expected dry side and Cathode (copper rods) on the wet side and passing a controlled current from the Anode to the Cathode.

Water attaches to the electrically charged ions as they move from the Anode to the Cathode and therefore the water is removed from the controlled media.

One of the many challenges was keeping the rebar, which is embedded in the concrete for strength, from corroding.

A high tech controller, patent pending, was designed to provide controlled current flow through the concrete, protect the rebar and manage multi-zone applications. EOP was tested and validated with the Facilities Engineering Applications Program (FEAP) which was administered by the Corps of Engineers Center for Public Works (CECPW-EB).

EOP system installations saved more than 40% over the installation cost of a conventional 'trench and drain' method.

Unlike other methods, EOP is a permanent solution and does not have to be redone every few years. EOP technology was one of four finalists for the prestigious Civil Engineering Research Foundation’s (CERF) Charles Pankow award for technology innovation in 1999.

New For-Profit Corporation for the Socially Disadvantaged Launched

New For-Profit Corporation for the Socially Disadvantaged Launched

A new for-profit corporation for the socially disadvantaged has been launched called Econet Enterprises. Econet is based on a new model called an "Economically Centered Social Network" and addresses the financial as well as the social needs of the disadvantaged at the work place. Since Econet is a private sector based corporation no government or external grant funding is required.

Mount Vernon, NY (PRWEB) January 3, 2008

Dr. Martin Korn, founder of Econet Enterprises, is pleased to announce the launching of a new for-profit socially dedicated corporation entirely dedicated to helping the disadvantaged. Econet is based on a new model called an "Economically Centered Social Network."

According to Dr. Korn, "Econet is a for-profit corporation utilizing a new socioeconomic model to effectively help the disadvantaged both financially and socially in a comprehensive and cost effective manner. Econet works with established businesses and addresses the financial and social needs of the disadvantaged at the workplace utilizing modern management techniques. Since Econet is a for-profit corporation no outside government funding or support is required. This combination of factors makes Econet unique and it is believed that the Econet system may be helpful to individuals not adequately served by the traditional government supported psychosocial programs."

Most programs for the socially disadvantaged in the United States are primarily based on a supportive psychosocial model. They are frequently dependent on government grants and offer financial support in the form of welfare or social security disability and health benefits in the form of Medicaid or Medicare. Although helpful in alleviating many of the basic financial needs of the needy these programs often do not effectively address the economic and social needs of the disadvantaged adequately.

The Econet Model
The model is pictured in the attached file.
The components of the Econet model are as follows:

1. Economically Centered -- Immediate provision of a job not benefits and entitlements should be the first intervention for the disadvantaged and these jobs are provided through Econet.

2. Social Network -- Utilization of modern management techniques including small cohesive work groups (also called "quality circles") help to form a supportive social network at the workplace, something that is often deficient among the disadvantaged. They also help the business to run more efficiently. This enables Econet's products and services to be competitive in the marketplace, even if some of the workforce is somewhat less efficient due to disabilities.

3. Social and health care services are provided directly through the business and included as a cost of business. This helps to effectively implement and centralize these important services.

4. Collaborative relationships with established businesses via joint marketing and sales ventures fuel the Econet economic engine. These collaborative relationships provide a financial incentive for associated business to "invest" in the disadvantaged and are a source of ongoing revenue for Econet and its employees. These joint ventures also serve to decrease start-up costs and provide potential access to jobs for the Econet employees in the business sector. Associated businesses are not required in any way to directly hire Econet employees unless it is considered advantageous to do so.

The Econet model has been tested in the homeless as well as in higher functioning disadvantaged individuals and the basic premises of the model have been substantiated. That is Econet appears to be able to cost effectively and comprehensively address the multiple problems of the disadvantaged in a socially networked economic model.

Infant and Toddler Self-Rescue Swimming Program Coming to Auburn, AL

Infant Swimming Resource (www. infantswim. com), the safest provider of Self-Rescue™ swimming lessons for babies and toddlers from six months to six years old, today announced that it will be offering lessons at two locations in Auburn, AL, beginning September 20, 2010.

Auburn, AL (PRWEB) September 15, 2010

Infant Swimming Resource (www. infantswim. com), the safest provider of Self-Rescue™ swimming lessons for babies and toddlers from six months to six years old, today announced that it will be offering lessons at two locations in Auburn, AL, beginning September 20, 2010.

“Sometimes, everything we do is not enough to keep a child from drowning. Even with alarms, door locks, pool fences and supervision, children can escape from protective care and find themselves in trouble,” says Tanja Bacigalupi, Infant Swimming Resource certified master instructor. “At ISR, we arm children with the skills to survive if they were to accidentally end up in the water alone.”

ISR integrates swimming skills that are developmentally appropriate for young children, teaching them to save their own lives, while building the confidence that can lead to a lifetime of fun in and around the water. For more than 40 years, ISR has safely provided its Self-Rescue training to more than 200,000 infants and young children.

The ISR lesson experience (http://vimeo. com/13500179) is a comprehensive six-week program where each lesson is customized for the child as they are safely guided through the learning process.

Six months to 12 months - infants learn to hold their breath under water, roll onto their backs and float unassisted.

One year to six years - learn how to hold their breath underwater, swim with their head down and eyes open, roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe, and roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool and can crawl out. Once skilled, children practice these techniques fully clothed.

CFID=482161778&CFTOKEN=62068516)(WSCA) contract for Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) services provides an excellent opportunity for member states to take advantage of cost-effective, quality services for their end users.

"CTS LanguageLink has been servicing the WSCA contract since February 2009. During that time, the company has seen the WSCA volume grow from 11,000 minutes per month to well over 100,000 minutes. We now provide OPI services under the WSCA contract to the states of Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Utah, with additional states due to become active soon. We're proud of the quality of our interpretation team and our state-of-the-art IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and telecommunications technologies that allow us to provide accurate, reliable, cost effective services to our customers," states Pamela Ballard, Chief Operations Officer for CTS LanguageLink.

The WSCA contract covers the fifteen member states' Over-the-Phone Interpretation requirements in all languages, representing roughly 3 million minutes of annual service. This contract is available to all state entities, or other organizations who receive any public funding or grants, such as non-profits, school districts, and healthcare facilities.

WSCA's fifteen member states join together in cooperative multi-state contracting in order to achieve cost-effective and efficient acquisition of quality products and services. Additionally, because WSCA is an affiliate of the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO), any NASPO member state (49 states total) has the ability to utilize this contract as well, based on each state's parameters.
State governments, collectively, are the largest consumers of goods and services in the country, spending billions of dollars each year. The NASPO Annual Marketing Meeting, developed and presented by state government purchasing officials, is designed to help companies, large and small, learn how to eliminate unnecessary roadblocks to doing business with the states. For more information, visit: http://www. naspo. org (http://www. naspo. org)

Since the company's inception nearly two decades ago, CTS LanguageLink has maintained a very strong presence in the government sector as a trusted provider of language services. One of CTS LanguageLink's niche markets for the last several years has been providing the translation, printing and audio recording of multilingual ballot material in several languages for many cities and counties within the State of California.

CTS LanguageLink is a leader in the language services industry and boasts a long list of clients in the government sector and continues to grow this segment with the aggressive marketing of national contracts, such as WSCA.

"CTS LanguageLink is committed to serving the needs of our public offices and organizations in their efforts to effectively communicate with the public, whose language diversity continues to grow. CTS LanguageLink provides that vital link for city and state agencies and offices to keep in constant and clear communication with the communities they serve," adds Jeff Barger, CEO and President of CTS LanguageLink.

About CTS LanguageLink

No Quick Fix for U. S. Economy Recession, According to Latest Issue of Money and Markets

No Quick Fix for U. S. Economy Recession, According to Latest Issue of Money and Markets

Mike Larson takes a closer look at the economic recession in the U. S. and how difficult it is going to be to solve it. In this issue of Money and Markets, Mr. Larson examines the U. S. economy and the poor state it is in.

Jupiter, Fla. (PRWEB) February 10, 2008

Mike Larson takes a closer look at the economic recession in the U. S. and how difficult it is going to be to solve it. Mr. Larson examines the U. S. economy and the poor state it is in.

A key index that tracks the health of service businesses like restaurants, retailers, and real estate firms plunged to 41.9 in January. That's the worst reading since October 2001, right after the 9/11 attacks. New orders dropped sharply and employment fell to a six-year low. Earnings and sales warnings are popping up everywhere. In early February, there were sales warnings from chipmaker National Semiconductor, construction materials vendor Martin Marietta, consumer electronics company Apple, department stores Macy's and Target, and network equipment vendor Cisco Systems.

And on February 7, Wal-Mart said its same store sales gained just 0.5% in January. That was much weaker than the 2% gain that analysts were expecting, and its proof positive that consumer spending is deteriorating fast. The real estate industry would also probably like to forget last year. To briefly recap:
Housing starts fell 25%, the biggest annual drop since 1980. Existing home sales dropped 13%, the biggest decline since 1982. New home sales fell 26%, the biggest drop this country has ever seen (data goes back to 1963). Meanwhile, the median price of an existing home fell from year-ago levels for the first time since the National Association of Realtors started tracking in 1968. Data from S&P/Case-Shiller shows that home prices were falling at an almost 8% rate in 20 top metropolitan areas as of late 2007, the biggest drop on record.

That's causing major problems with residential mortgages. The home loan delinquency rate jumped to 5.59% in the third quarter of last year, the highest since 1986. The percentage of loans in foreclosure climbed to 1.69%, another record. Lenders are adding hundreds of millions of dollars to their loan loss reserves, and charge offs of souring home mortgages are rising fast throughout the banking industry. In short, the home mortgage problems are well known. But here's what investors are failing to appreciate: It's not just residential mortgages.

There were a record $1.4 trillion of leveraged buyouts in 2006 and 2007. These debt-financed corporate takeovers are now blowing up on the lenders who extended the loans and the junk bond buyers who snapped up the debt. And more than 25% of the bonds that financed these LBOs are already trading at distressed levels, meaning they yield more than ten percentage points more than Treasuries. All told, banks are stuck with a $230 billion pile of high-yield, high-risk debt, $160 billion in leveraged loans and $70 billion in junk bonds. With the price of all this paper falling, banks could be forced to take billions more in write-downs. That's on top of the more than $100 billion in write-downs they've already taken.
As for other consumer loans, the outlook is worsening. The delinquency rate on home equity loans is the highest since 2005. The delinquency rate on home equity lines of credit is the highest since 1997. And the delinquency rate on indirect auto loans is the highest since 1991.
This is devastating news for banking stocks. But it also has an economic impact. Specifically, rising losses are causing lenders to tighten lending standards dramatically. The Federal Reserve survey of top bank lending officials, conducted in January, found:
More than 3 in 10 lenders are tightening standards on commercial and industrial loans. That's the most since early 2002. More than 80% are tightening standards on commercial real estate loans. That's the tightest banks have ever been and the Fed has been keeping track since 1990. Seven out of 10 lenders were making it harder to qualify for subprime mortgages, while more than 8 in 10 were cracking down on "nontraditional" loans. And more than half of the lenders the Fed polled are making PRIME mortgages harder to get. That's the most ever.

"In addition, the Federal Reserve is cutting interest rates sharply. The federal funds rate has been slashed from 5.25% to 3%. The discount rate has also been cut to 3 1/2%.
The Fed has also been trying to flood the banking system with cash," Mr. Larson states.

Shopping Essentials Keeps Consumers One Step Ahead on Shoe Trends

Shopping Essentials Keeps Consumers One Step Ahead on Shoe Trends

AP9 ShoppingEssentials provides members special deals on clothes, shoes and accessories for every member of the family.

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) June 27, 2008

The "Carrie Bradshaw" effect is not a new trend imposed by the main character of the TV show and movie "Sex and the City." Women have always loved shoes, and even though those four girls from the show turned some shoe designers into fashion icons, many women don't even need top-label shoes. All they want is beautiful shoes to complement an outfit. Summer 2008 is perhaps the best time for women to show off their most gaudy shoes, reports Shopping Essentials (SM) (http://www. shoppingessentials-program. com/), a leading discount membership program offered by Adaptive Marketing LLC (http://www. adaptivemarketing. com/ap9/shoppingessentials. asp). The savings offered by this program also help a lot of women put more shoes in their closets for less.

Shoe trends this year include bright colors, patent finishes, sandals and flats with straps and sparkle, and heels designed to defy gravity. Open-toe and peep-toe shoes are also a common summer denominator. But no matter how beautiful the shoes are, they won't look so good if the feet aren't taken care of. Pedicures are, therefore, another must of the season. AP9 ShoppingEssentials (http://www. adaptivemarketing. com/ap9/shopping-essentials. asp) presents the most popular trends for women this summer:

--Wedges. A classic for all women, the wedge is totally in this summer, after a short disappearing act the last couple of seasons. Wedges are simply fun, and even who don't usually opt for heels choose medium-height wedges for the summer. They're very comfortable and, depending on the model, they can be used for a casual day in town or for the office. Versatility is their main quality.

--Thong sandals. These are a very, very hot trend for 2008. This year, shoe designers went all out and have created beautiful sandals in both flat and high heels. Flowers, buckles, intricate stitching, metal mesh … cosmopolitan, chic styles are all over the stores. Use flat thong sandals for casual affairs or even nights out, but go for higher heels and semi-covered sandals in the office.

--Gladiator sandals. This trend actually started back in spring, and it has slowly progressed into a full-fledge trend for the summer, notes AP9 ShoppingEssentials. Roman-inspired sandals come in bright colors, prints, patents … you name it. Like the thong sandals, these gladiator shoes can be found in both flats and high-heel styles.

--Floral patterns. Whether printed on the fabric or as the main accessory on the shoe, flowers are in full bloom this summer. Use them in any color and with any type of shoe: casual, elegant or for work.

--Architectural heels. Some look like shoes that defy orthopedic laws or even gravity, but shoe designers know what they're doing. Wearing a pair of these shoes requires a lot of personality and sometimes a lot of balance. Be sure to try on these shoes and walk around the store for a while before taking them home.

Fashion trends are simply guidelines to keep in mind, but personal style is always the priority when deciding what to get. The rule this summer is to play with color and to be comfortable at all times, reports Shopping Essentials (http://www. aboutus. org/Shopping-Essentials. com).

Toxic Body, Toxic Home -- How to Rebuild Your Health and Avoid Both

Toxic Body, Toxic Home -- How to Rebuild Your Health and Avoid Both

Apparently, eliminating toxins in the home is just as important as ridding them from your body.

(PRWEB) November 16, 2005

Is the air in your home really more polluted than the air you breathe outside? Is there a way to make the water you drink a powerful body cleanser? Now you can get some answers -- or at least ask these questions at a new website, http://www. clearlight-holistics. com (http://www. clearlight-holistics. com). Site owner, Matt Condie, holistic health advocate and owner of Clearlight Holistics describes clearlight-holistics. com as “as an online source of holistic health information and high tech products designed to help you live the healthiest life possible.”

According to Dr. David Pesek PhD, internationally known holistic health practioner, eliminating toxins from the body is absolutely necessary for maintaining good health, “Far infrared saunas are a key part of my detoxification and tissue cleansing program.” he says. Mr. Condie added that environmental toxins like PCB’s, dioxin and mercury are stored in the body’s fat cells and can be flushed from your system with series of far infrared sauna sessions. “Far infrared can help with certain skin ailments and pain relief as well.” Mr. Condie says.

Apparently, eliminating toxins in the home is just as important as ridding them from your body. Studies authored by Health Canada, and the US Environmental Protection Agency show that the amount of indoor air pollutants may be significantly higher than outdoor levels. “The air we breathe inside the average home is full of toxic gases given off from carpets and plastics and it’s full of pet dander, dust mites, airborne viruses and bacteria as well,” Mr. Condie says. “My daughter suffers with allergies and before we found an air purifier that would really do a good job cleaning the air, she was usually up a couple of times a night with congestion. Once I started doing research on this subject I began to realize how big a challenge indoor air pollution really is.”

In addition, the site includes information about the different health benefits of alkaline water. According to Mr. Condie, drinking slightly alkaline water helps you maintain a healthy body. “In fact, unless the body’s pH level (alkaline, acid ratio) is slightly alkaline the body cannot heal” Condie says. The new site also features information about juicing, aromatherapy, personal oxygen generation and food decontamination.

The 21st Century Rural Hospital by Phil Campbell, FACHE

The 21st Century Rural Hospital by Phil Campbell, FACHE

What will a rural hospital look like in the 21st Century? A rural hospital consultant describes a potential boon for rural hosptials

(PRWEB) January 15, 2003

After 20 years in rural hospital administration, including one stint as a division President with eight rural hospitals, I have experienced nothing less than revolutionary change in healthcare delivery.

Early in my career, hospital administrators focused almost exclusively on the “care” aspect of healthcare. As reimbursement tightened, successful hospital administrators entered a new learning curve and discovered ways to reduce costs and improve services.

Initially, hospitals began outsourcing emergency physician contracts. Administrators shed a major time-consuming problem area and improved service while saving money—when they made the decision to outsource their Emergency Departments physicians. ED physician outsourcing is almost universal now in urban and rural hospitals.

Based on the success of ED physician outsourcing, administrators began looking at opportunities in other areas. Food Services became the next successful area for outsourcing.

Food Service outsourcing vendors were attracted to hospitals with large volumes, and this became an effective quality improvement strategy. However, many rural hospitals were left out of this outsourcing opportunity. Food Service outsourcing vendors required additional stipends from rural hospitals to supplement lower volumes.

It is easy to predict that the hospital business office will be the next non-clinical area to be outsourced during the 21-Century. As a rural hospital administrator, I have sought vendors for “complete” business office outsourcing. However, until recently no companies offered these services to rural hospitals.

I was seeking a company that emphasized the importance of accurate and timely billing, efficient collecting and managing the business office in a productive and professional manner just as I emphasized the importance of providing high quality hands-on care for patients. None existed.

Things have changed. Today, at least one company offers rural hospitals complete business office outsourcing. Finally, there is a source for removing one of the biggest headaches for hospital administrators.

Healthcare Management Resources (HMR) is the solution. Typically, HMR improves cash from the business office by 10% almost immediately. Moreover, they provide a sense of security for administrators that the business office function is getting the attention it requires, and is not wasting resources through inadequate billing practices.

Why will the hospital business office become the next universal outsourcing trend? When a single decision by a hospital administrator will remove one of their biggest headaches, and improve cash by 10%, the decision is easy. Just like ED physician outsourcing, and Food Service contracting, outsourcing the business office will become universal during the next few years.

Clif Bar & Company Re-Energizes E-Commerce Offering With ERP2Web From CDI

Clif Bar & Company Re-Energizes E-Commerce Offering With ERP2Web From CDI

Computer Discoveries, Inc. (CDI) announces the successful implementation of its ERP2Web application at Clif Bar & Company, the leading brand in all-natural and organic energy and nutrition foods and drinks. ERP2Web proves to be an ideal e-Commerce solution by integrating tightly with Clif Bar & Company's JD Edwards ERP solution.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 19, 2010

Computer Discoveries, Inc. (CDI) (http://cdiconsulting. com) is a global provider of multi-channel commerce solutions, supplier portal, credit card automation and e-mail marketing software. CDI’s flagship product ERP2Web (http://cdiconsulting. com/erp2web. aspx) has given Clif Bar & Company’s e-Commerce offering a modern look and feel, providing not only a much more intuitive user experience but also new and improved features.

“An improved customer experience was an important goal of the project.” said Dave Hartwell, IT Manager at Clif Bar & Company (http://www. clifbar. com). “Customers describe the system as fast, more modern and up-to-date and with a very intuitive interface – it works the way we do.”

Hartwell added, “Long term strategy was crucial in our decision to scrap an existing online dealer system in less than 2 years. The decision to implement ERP2Web was not only based on more robust functionality and an improved user interface, but we were also focused on the longer term total cost of ownership as we move ahead with our JDE solution. For example, Clif Bar & Company intends to migrate to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) in the near future. The existing e-Commerce solution from Lansa would have led to a prohibitively high cost of migration. ERP2Web’s tight integration with JDE will ensure that the migration will be a quick and painless process. CDI has been a great strategic partner on this project. Their budget and time estimates have been very accurate and they have been excellent project managers. Most importantly, their deep functional knowledge of the JD Edwards suite of products and prompt issue resolution helped make the project a success.”

ERP2Web is a proven and affordable e-Commerce solution. It enables enterprises to provide their customers a secured shopping cart access for real-time order creation in Oracle’s JD Edwards ERP. With ERP2Web, Clif Bar & Company could quickly implement an electronic storefront using CDI’s rapid implementation methodology with no modifications to JDE. ERP2Web powers Clif Bar & Company’s dealer site that allows sports retailers to order directly over the Internet. The site now supports added features that were not possible with Clif Bar & Company’s earlier e-Commerce solution from Lansa due to difficult inter-operability with JDE World.

“These enhancements allow us to roll out this new dealer website to all sales channels.” according to Lynn Blair, Director of Customer Service & Logistics at Clif Bar & Company. “It’s much more powerful in terms of administration, supports much faster order processing and accuracy as well as improved customer service. The customers will be able to access important account information any time, without needing to contact their customer service representative. They will be able to place orders, track orders, get inventory availability, item spec information, review or print open invoices and even pay invoices on line with a credit card using CDI’s SnapPay (http://cdiconsulting. com/SnapPay. aspx) solution.”

Clif Bar & Company uses e-Catalog in ERP2Web to offer a unique e-Storefront that allows their different customer groups to easily conduct all business transactions over the web. Clif Bar & Company created and customized a master e-Catalog for different type of user profiles to target specific customer segments and thus open up new markets. According to Dave Hartwell, "The new system has given us access to an important new set of customers beyond sports retailers, including large food retailers, managed accounts, independent sales reps, and consumers. Today’s web orders, as a percent of the total, are approaching 35%, up about 7% since we went live in January."

The road to success with Clif Bar & Company has been an enjoyable experience for CDI.
“Clif Bar & Company has been a delight to work with," said Suhas Gosavi, President of CDI. "They had a clear goal of better serving their customers and improving the user experience. With ERP2Web we have focused on creating a system that can easily and transparently work the way our customers would like with no custom coding. We are happy to see this partnership evolve into a success with the great products that Clif Bar & Company offers through our solution."

Tesco Launches 'Greener Living' in Store and Online

Tesco Launches 'Greener Living' in Store and Online

Tesco is to launch a new brand - Greener Living - that will help millions of customers lead a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle

(PRWEB) October 20, 2007

In a bid to make greener living even easier, Britain's favourite supermarket has launched a new environmentally friendly brand entitled Greener Living, which includes a new Greener Living website, loaded with practical tips and ideas for anyone who wants to lessen their impact on the environment along with advice from green-fingered celebrities like Dick Strawbridge and Matt James.

The Greener Living ranges will hit the shelves early next year alongside such popular Tesco (http://www. tesco. com/ (http://www. tesco. com/)) brands as Finest, Value and Healthy Living. Some of the first Greener Living products will include energy-saving light bulbs, bin liners from recycled plastic and an energy-saving eco-kettle.

Said Andrew Brocklehurst, Green Category Director at Tesco:

"Customers tell us they want to shop greener but they don't always find it easy to know which choices are better for the environment. Through the Greener Living brand and website, we can give more environment-friendly products and clearer information - as well as delivering the great value that is Tesco's hallmark."

The Greener Living range will complement the hundreds of "green" products that are already showing extraordinary growth at Tesco and will help customers:
reduce the energy they use and hence their carbon footprint; reduce the waste they generate; buy recycled products and recycle more themselves; reduce the water they consume and their impact on the environment.

The Greener Living website (http://www. tesco. com/greenerliving/ (http://www. tesco. com/greenerliving/)) is an interactive site that will help educate and engage anyone who wants to live a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle.

Dick Strawbridge, green campaigner and presenter of BBC's 'It's not easy being green' said:

"Tesco's new Greener Living website is set to be a really useful and practical resource for anyone hoping to make their lives more eco-friendly. Customers can find a whole raft of ideas, suggestions, tips and inspiration for going greener in all aspects of their lifestyles, all in one place. And by starting small, every little step helps our lives become more sustainable."

Alongside all the latest information, hints and tips to help customers lead a greener life, Tesco will be offering customers ways to engage with the site - they can take part in polls and even post their own green tips.

There'll also be opportunities to ask famous personalities like Dick Strawbridge and Matt James of Channel 4's "The City Gardener" for their tips on how to be greener at home, in the garden or even at work. Greener Living will also provide regular updates for customers on the continuing work to reduce Tesco's own environmental impact (http://www. tesco. com/greenerliving/ (http://www. tesco. com/greenerliving/)).

For busy parents, there's a section with activities for children, and there will be fantastic offers to buy green products at great prices through Tesco. com, the UK's top online grocery website.

Other top environmental personalities contributing to Greener Living include author Natalia Marshall, Justin Francis, travel writer and co-founder of responsibletravel. com, and Melissa Corkhill, founder of "Green Parent" magazine.

ICRco Releases Clarity PACS, a New Approach to Managing Digital Imaging Data

ICRco Releases Clarity PACS, a New Approach to Managing Digital Imaging Data

ICRco Gives Access to the Full Working Version of Clarity Viewer via Internet Access

Torrance, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2009

iCRco releases the latest version of its affordable and fully scalable PACS solution, Clarity PACS. Recently with the explosion of Digital Radiographic technology and the growth of Computed Radiography for medical imaging there has been an increased need for a cost effective and an easy to use PACS solution, which is why iCRco has developed Clarity PACS.

Because of the complexity and expense of other PACS solutions healthcare professionals have been experiencing what we call a medical digital divide in the Digital Radiology world. Expense of traditional PACS is the reason why big hospitals and imaging centers have been able to implement this technology while others have been left out. With Clarity PACS, iCRco is closing this medical digital divide and making this revolutionary product available and accessible to all healthcare providers.

"We are very excited to release the new version of Clarity PACS. At iCRco we are always trying to be edgy with our campaigns but right now we are doing something that has never been done before in this industry. We are allowing you to come to our website and see and touch our software right over the internet. We feel so confident about this product that we want everyone to be able to experience it for themselves. "states, Mark Valentine, President and COO of iCRco.

Clarity PACS was designed to support all imaging modalities and includes a powerful web-viewer. What sets apart Clarity Viewer is the user friendly and sleek graphical user interface, report writing, very powerful CD burn and DICOM Print options, advanced image manipulation tools, support for cross sectional imaging and HL7 Integration with third party information management systems like RIS and EMR. Clarity is fully HIPPA compliant and provides complete audit logs. The system can also integrate seamlessly with all third party medical imaging devices.

Clarity PACS presents a new paradigm with easy deployment, remote monitoring and updating capabilities that makes this solution second to none. The software uses a new approach to web based applications, allowing the user to connect to a web server through a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer. For the release of the software iCRco is allowing all medical professionals to access the live software and experience it for themselves. For that all you have to do is just visit http://www. claritypacs. com (http://www. claritypacs. com) and click on the offer link.

Stress Dies a Natural Death

Stress Dies a Natural Death

Top London Acupuncturist, Tim Colman, is raising the profile of National Stress Awareness Day - Wednesday Nov. 2nd, 2005 - emphasising the benefits of Acupuncture and Acupressure in the treatment of stress and stress-related illnesses.

(PRWEB) November 4, 2005

Top London Acupuncturist, Tim Colman, is raising the profile of National Stress Awareness Day - Wednesday Nov. 2nd, 2005 - emphasising the benefits of Acupuncture and Acupressure in the treatment of stress and stress-related illnesses.

The UK’s figure on stress has reached an all time high with over 70% of citizens experiencing daily stress and 80% admitting to experiencing road rage; the highest levels in Europe.

Yet despite stress being so common it is almost considered a dirty word which is often only whispered about quietly behind closed doors with people feeling embarrassed to admit that they feel stressed or suffer from stress.

Treatment for stress is centred around medication and counselling. The prescribing of medication for stress has infamously led to rumours that Londons’ water now has traces of anti-depressants in it; whilst counselling is expensive and hard to come by. Where then does acupuncture fit into the picture?

Colman comments, “Society today is pushing people to breaking point, with little or no support or advice as to how to manage their stress within their day to day lives. Many of my clients come to me stating anxiety and depression as being there main issue. Some have been prescribed anti-depressants, only to find that a named side-effect of that same antidepressant can be anxiety."

Acupuncture is brilliant at treating these conditions which typically the public are expected to “just relax and deal with.”

Tim further states, “Using acupuncture to treat mental conditions is not new. Far from it, ancient Chinese acupuncture texts from as far back as the Han dynasty (210 BC), discuss approaches to treating psychiatric disorders. Over thousands of years treatment protocols have been refined into a fine art. Acupuncture treats a persons’ energy; emotions are energy, be it love, joy or anxiety. Fundamentally stress is an emotion. Almost all illnesses have an emotional component; even western medicine is now conceding a link between chronic back pain and depression.”

Tim is preparing a free booklet on Stress. Using the main master points for stress release, he is switching his acupuncture protocols into a simple but empowering acupressure programme.

Carrageenan™ Personal Lubricant Celebrates Canadian Launch

Carrageenan™ Personal Lubricant Celebrates Canadian Launch

DreamBrands, Inc. to launch G Stimulating Lubricant™ in the Canadian marketplace

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 17, 2008

Natural, silky, smooth, sensual... Carrageenan™, the fastest growing personal lubricant in the United States, is making sex fun again for Canadians since its recent introduction in Canada's top retail stores. Carrageenan™ is formulated to help women "defy maturity," especially after the age of 40 when healthy aging and sexual wellness becomes more challenging. DreamBrands, Inc., a company dedicated to creating innovative, healthier and more natural alternatives for the mature consumer, introduced Carrageenan™ into the Canadian marketplace in August 2007.

Thanks to an aggressive marketing campaign and rave reviews from consumers and the press, Carrageenan™ is debuting in over 2,500 Canadian retail outlets including Shoppers Drug Mart/PharmaPrix, Katz/Drug Trading, Loblaws and Zeller/HBC; with distribution through chains including London Drugs, SaveOn, Safeway, Wal-Mart, Pharmasave and Jean Coutu and coming soon Uniprix in Quebec. With the support of what's being called a "seductively innovative" ad campaign in popular women's magazines including Glow, Flare, Chatelaine and Canadian Health and Lifestyle, Carrageenan™ sales are anticipated to follow the same trend of success as in the United States, where the product has already celebrated a 600% increase in sales.

Unlike other personal lubricants that are chemical-based, messy and/or sticky, Carrageenan™ personal lubricant is formulated specifically to mimic a woman's natural lubrication. Free of potentially irritating and synthetic ingredients like silicone and glycol (found in most other leading brands of personal lubricants), Carrageenan™ is formulated with women's personal health as the #1 priority and made with its namesake ingredient carrageenan, a marine red algae extract. Carrageenan™ is also water soluble, long lasting, odorless, pH balanced, moisturizing and non-staining.

A frustrating lack of natural personal lubricants in the Canadian market was the inspiration that led to the development of Carrageenan™. The ingredient carrageenan was chosen specifically for its exceptional lubricating properties. Its silky texture is "sensual to the touch" without being sticky, making lovemaking a longer, more pleasurable experience for both men and women. "Until now, synthetic options have dominated the marketplace. Having interviewed hundreds of women who experienced some of the challenges of menopause, they are excited about the product availability of Carrageenan™ in the Canadian market. The response has been very positive and sales have been exceeding expectations," says DreamBrands, Inc. Chief Scientist Cecile Kehoe.

And Canadian women have responded very positively to Carrageenan™ for a number of reasons, including: pre and post menopausal women find they need the support of a personal lubricant because hormone-related changes have a natural drying effect on body tissues (on everything from the skin to genital fluids); and sexually active people of all ages can benefit from a personal lubricant, especially with the use of condoms for safe sex. Even pre lubricated condoms don't provide proper glide needed for comfort, making Carrageenan™ the perfect accompaniment.

Carrageenan™ Regular and Warming is available in 4 oz. bottles at leading pharmacies throughout Canada and online at OceanusBrands. com.

Expanding Product Line of Female Sexual Health Products in Canada
DreamBrands, Inc. will launch G Stimulating Lubricant™ in the Canadian marketplace by fall of 2008 as a line extension to the Carrageenan Personal Lubricant suite of products. G is an all-natural topical lubricant made with carrageenan that enhances female sexual pleasure, heightens arousal, improves female sexual sensation and helps decrease symptoms associated with female sexual dysfunction. It is a non-prescription formulation that provides silky smooth female lubrication. The result: an exceptional lubricating formula that raises foreplay to a whole new level.

G is a blend of natural ingredients, such as niacin, arginine and evening primrose oil that help increase blood flow to the clitoris. In addition, G is formulated with menthol that creates a warming, tingling, and stimulating sensation. These ingredients work synergistically to provide powerful sensations in a woman's body and with improved sexual stimulation there is an increased opportunity for a woman to achieve orgasm. G is available online at Oceanusbrands. com.

DreamBrands, Inc. Meets the Diverse Needs of the Female Sexual Wellness Market

The female sexual wellness market is rapidly growing and will continue to expand. Why? The market for pharmaceutical and over-the-counter products has become a commercially attractive sector for a number of reasons, including aging demographics, as well as, an increasing awareness in healthy living. In summation, the market for female sexual wellness products is poised for expansion. The size of the market was first highlighted by the landmark sex survey published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the key findings found that sexual problems affect 43 percent of women compared to 31 percent of men in the United States. It has been a decade since the launch of Viagra® and since then a myriad of companies has unsuccessfully created products for the women's market. Rather than creating a "one-size fits all approach" to enhancing intimacy for women, DreamBrands, Inc. has successfully launched two alternatives to address the more diverse needs of women.

"Developing sexual wellness products designed to truly meet the needs of women is far more complex than developing similar products for men. Comprehensive consumer research clearly directed us to create multiple solutions with an emphasis on incorporating natural ingredients to replace chemical ingredients" notes Cecile Kehoe, the lead scientist at DreamBrands, Inc.

DreamBrands, Inc. has developed its Canadian product offerings to address two common sexual health issues of concern to women: (1) Carrageenan Personal Lubricant to address vaginal dryness; and (2) G Stimulating Lubricant to address low sex drive and low sexual libido. These formulations meet the needs common among Canadian women, as reflected by national surveys that indicate that 33 percent of women suffer from occasional or regular low sex drive or libido and nearly 25% of women suffer from occasional to regular vagina dryness.

About DreamBrands, Inc.

Carrageenan Personal Lubricant™ and G Stimulating Lubricant™ are developed by DreamBrands, Inc., a Phoenix based personal care products company dedicated to the development of natural personal care products for men and women 40-plus. The company's CEO, Gary Kehoe, is a seasoned entrepreneur and nationally renowned expert on product innovation, prototyping and new product launches. He has successfully formulated more than a dozen consumer products that have become household names for companies such as Nabisco, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company and Gum Tech. He is an inventor or co-inventor on more than 20 U. S. patents. In 2006, DreamBrands, Inc. launched Carrageenan™, a silky, smooth, all-natural personal lubricant designed to mimic a woman's natural lubrication. Carrageenan is extracted from pure, natural red algae and offers an attractive alternative to the traditional synthetic, chemical-based solutions of the other leading lubricant products. All products are available online at: www. oceanusbrands. com.

Easing Back into the School Year: Tips and Tools for the Transition From Summer to Back-to-School

Easing Back into the School Year: Tips and Tools for the Transition From Summer to Back-to-School

Parents’ Choice Foundation offers Resources for Families to Get Organized and Prepare for School

Timonium, MD (Vocus) August 7, 2009

The first day of school is right around the corner and making the adjustment from a fun summer with a relaxed schedule can be difficult at any age. Faced with new teachers, bigger classrooms, new routines and more schoolwork this can be a stressful time for children - especially those facing major transitions such as starting school or entering middle and high school. With a little planning, parents can help make the transition a smooth one and set the tone for a successful year.

To help children ease into the school year with fewer disruptions, Parents’ Choice Foundation offers the following tips and tools:

· Reestablish the bedtime and school year schedules several weeks before school actually starts. Learn how one parent ended the bedtime struggles (http://www. parents-choice. org/article. cfm? art_id=165&the_page=consider_this)

· Let children help clear and prepare a designated homework area if one does not exist or assist with sprucing up last year’s spot.

· For kids just starting school or moving into a new school help ease first-day jitters by taking a tour of the school to locate the classroom, lunchroom and playground. Showing your child the route they will take will help with their concerns about getting to school. Lighten the mood with this fun musical about getting lost in a new school (http://www. parents-choice. org/product. cfm? product_id=1675&award=xx&from=Storymaker%20Records).

· Spend time each day in the weeks before school starts talking to your child about the coming school year and what to expect while giving positive feedback about last year’s experiences.

· Make sure required reading and summer worksheets are done well before the first day to avoid struggles over last-minute homework. Still looking for a few books to fill in the summer reading list?
Check out these back-to-school themed reads (http://parents-choice. org/article. cfm? art_id=166&the_page=reading_list).

· The weekend before school begins plan a back-to-school party to celebrate the memories from the summer. Movies can often set the mood for holidays, milestones and rites of passage, so why not use a school theme to segue your kids into the proper frame of mind (http://www. parents-choice. org/article. cfm? art_id=304&the_page=editorials)?

· Write a book with your child that details all of the fun activities they enjoyed over the summer. Need some inspiration? Check out Mark Teague’s amazing tale of train rides, cowboys and cattle herding (http://www. parents-choice. org/product. cfm? product_id=4747&award=xx).
