Missouri Representative and Senatorial Staff to Visit Pinnacle Career Institute

Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri will visit the Pinnacle Career Institute in South Kansas City campus on Aug. 16, and Regional Director Corey Dillion will visit the school on behalf of Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri on Aug. 17.

Kansas City, MO (Vocus) August 9, 2010

As career colleges take center stage in Washington, D. C., Pinnacle Career Institute in South Kansas City plans to strengthen its solid relationship with U. S. senators and representatives by hosting two separate campus tours later this month. 17.

Pinnacle Career Institute is one of thousands of career colleges in the United States that provide students with career-specific training. While touring the campus, the officials will be able to observe firsthand the advantages and opportunities the institute offers students. The tours will focus on PCI’s first-of-their-kind alternative energy programs and extensive community involvement, as well as address other pertinent legislative issues including gainful employment, a proposed rule by the Department of Education that ties graduates salaries to educational costs.

Emanuel Cleaver is currently serving his third term representing the 5th District of Missouri in the U. S. House of Representatives and sits on the exclusive Financial Services Committee, Homeland Security Committee, and the Speaker’s Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. In 1979, Cleaver was elected to the City Council of Kansas City. After three terms, he ran for and was elected to the office of mayor, where he made history as the first African-American to hold the city’s highest office. As mayor, Cleaver worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for Kansas City residents. He championed programs and initiatives designed to create jobs and stimulate economic development, including infrastructure improvements, city planning and youth outreach. Cleaver’s exemplary leadership earned him a two-term position as President of the National Conference of Black Mayors.

Claire McCaskill became the first woman elected to the U. S. Senate from Missouri in November 2006. She was named as one of the select senators to sit on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, formerly known as the Truman Committee. McCaskill currently sits on four Senate committees, including Armed Services, Commerce, HSGAC and Aging. From those committees, she’s championed accountability and transparency, earmark reform, increased independence for Inspector Generals (IG) that act as federal auditors, credit card regulations, security improvements to foreign repair stations that service our domestic aircraft, reforms to the reverse mortgage industry, consumer protections, and full benefits and resources for our brave veterans and wounded active service members.

“PCI is honored to host the congressional representatives of Missouri. We welcome any chance to show legislators firsthand the great work we do in our schools and in our community,” said Monte Schaich,
Campus Director.

The Pinnacle Career Institute in South Kansas City campus is located at 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 325, Kansas City, MO 64131. If you would like more information about the events, contact Vice President of Operations Eddie M. Colon at 816-268-3400 or via email at ecolon(at)pcitraining(dot)edu.

BioBuilde: improves your hair and nails from the inside out

BioBuilde: improves your hair and nails from the inside out

BodyHealth. Com announces a new zero carb protein supplement containing a unique formula of amino acids that improves hair and nails from the inside out.

(PRWEB) July 23, 2004

For Immediate Release

Clearwater, FL -- TodayÂ’s woman has a lot on her plate, often juggling a career, social life and in some cases, a family. She does it all and somehow manages to look fabulous doing it.

However, a walk through any beauty store these days could send your head spinning. Thousands of products promise to de-frizz, add shine and repair damaged hair, and hundreds more guarantee to strengthen nails and prevent breakage.

Which product lives up to its promise? And is it worth the price?

The problem with all of these products is that they are topical in nature, typically treating hair and nails after the damage is done by heat, weather, coloring or poor diet. Whether you choose the discount beauty store conditioner or the high-end salon treatment, neither compares to the benefits of BioBuilde, which improves your hair and nails from the inside out.

BioBuilde is a zero-carb supplement product that supplies the human body with essential amino acids, the basis of important dietary proteins. This combination benefits all human beings in various ways, from weight loss to strengthening bones, to hair and nail improvement.

BioBuilde is unique due to its 99 percent protein absorption rate by the human body, which is unheard of ― and it has NO CARBS! The protein absorption rate is called Net Nitrogen Utilization or NNU and is best illustrated by the following chart showing how much of each protein is utilized and how much is nitrogen waste that is eliminated from the body.

See the Net Nitrogen Utilization or NNU Chart at

Http://www. bodyhealth. com/html/biobuilde/about_understanding3.asp#net (http://www. bodyhealth. com/html/biobuilde/about_understanding3.asp#net)

We know that the structural foundation of the body, and the molecules that sustain life, are formed from protein complexes. These protein complexes form our bone, blood, immune and heart cells, enzymes, neurotransmitters, hormones, cytokines, etc. They influence our mood, vitality, stamina, mobility, quality of life and our sense of well-being. Since these protein complexes are continually breaking down, our bodies need to manufacture billions of proteins every day as replacements.

Taking BioBuilde daily will improve all aspects of your body and health; it will also change your opinion of how to care for your hair and nails. For more information visit www. BodyHealth. com.

Sleep Lab Opens Third Retail CPAP Store in Wisconsin

Sleep Lab Opens Third Retail CPAP Store in Wisconsin

The Sleep Wellness Institute, Inc., Wisconsin's largest independent sleep disorders center, will open its third retail CPAP2GO store on Oct. 1 The store will be located in West Allis, Wis., and will offer an exclusive 30/30 Advantage... 30 different CPAP masks, all with a 30-night comfort and fit guarantee.

West Allis, WI (PRWEB) September 30, 2009

The Sleep Wellness Institute, Inc., will open its third CPAP2GO store in West Allis on Thursday, Oct. 1. CPAP2GO specializes in continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines, masks and supplies used to help many people with obstructive sleep apnea. The CPAP2GO stores are the only retail CPAP stores in Wisconsin operated by a sleep disorders center. The first store opened in Franklin last year, and a Waukesha location opened in April.

The newest store, at 2931 S. 108th Street, will be open Monday through Saturday, with evening hours Monday through Friday. It will be staffed by specially trained employees and will feature the "30/30 Advantage" - an in-stock supply of more than 30 masks and a free 30-night comfort and fit guarantee. Much of the equipment will be covered by most health insurance plans.

According to Ron Baake, Chief Executive Officer of The Sleep Wellness Institute, the stores are a natural outgrowth of the success of the Institute's professional CPAP services. "Our approach to working with people on CPAP has yielded more than an 85% compliance rate with treatment, as opposed to about 55% nationwide," he explained. "We believe we can help more people by locating stores in convenient, high traffic retail business areas."

People with sleep apnea are aroused briefly several times per hour every night as the tissues around their airway collapse and prevent them from breathing. Complications can include cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes, depression, and even death. The CPAP equipment provides a continuous, gentle positive air flow that keeps the patient's airway open and eliminates snoring. It is considered the "gold standard" in treatment for obstructive sleep apnea.

"Providing CPAP equipment and dedicated CPAP staff at all three of the stores and at the Institute means we offer unparalled service for people with sleep apnea," Baake explained.

"Expert knowledge, wide selection and an unmatched dedication to customer service are the hallmarks of CPAP2GO," Baake said. "All too often we encounter people who have purchased CPAP equipment elsewhere, including from the internet, and then have been unable to get the follow-up service they need, at the times they need it. We make a difference for those people."

Baake said the store will offer the same CPAP products and service that are provided at The Sleep Wellness Institute and at the Franklin and Waukesha CPAP2GO locations.

The store will be managed by Cody Glorioso, who is the director of the Sleep Wellness Institute's durable medical equipment department. The store's telephone number will be 414-761-CPAP (2727). A website, www. cpap2go. net, provides more information for customers.

The Sleep Wellness Institute is Wisconsin's largest independent sleep disorders laboratory. It is fully accredited to diagnose and treat sleep disorders among adults and children by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Mold Concerns Addressed at Dehumidifier Retailer Sylvane

Mold Concerns Addressed at Dehumidifier Retailer Sylvane

Mold is a growing concern amongst both consumers and businesses. Homeowners and business owners can find advice and solutions for their mold problems at retailer Sylvane, Inc. Controlling humidity is the key to preventing mold problems and can be accomplished through one of Sylvane’s many dehumidifier products.

Marietta, GA (PRWEB) June 4, 2006

A growing concern in the United States, mold problems have resulted in financial loss and personal health issues. Sylvane, Inc. assists customers by providing expert advice and tailored solutions to help prevent the growth of mold and mildew in customers’ homes and businesses.

Surveys of realtors, homeowners, and building inspectors have shown that mold is on the mind of today’s home buyers. The discovery of significant mold in a residence is enough to scuttle a potential house sale or reduce the final closing value on a home.

“It is unfortunate that such situations exist when many of these cases could have been prevented by a relatively small financial investment and proper precautionary measures,” says Steven Hong, President of Sylvane. “Controlling relative humidity is crucial in efforts to prevent mold growth and a dehumidifier (http://www. sylvane. com/dehumidifiers. html) is the appropriate first step to take in that direction.”

Relative humidity is a measure of the moisture content in the air relative to how much moisture the air could potentially hold given its current temperature. Most experts agree that relative humidity should ideally be beneath 50% in order to prevent the growth of mold.

Sylvane has a broad array of dehumidifiers available to meet varying conditions and requirements. From simple standalone room dehumidifiers to ducted whole house units and specialized industrial low temperature units, Sylvane carries a complete spectrum of solutions.

The Santa Fe Dehumidifier (http://www. sylvane. com/santa-fe-dehumidifier. html) is a popular product for large or damp basement environments. This unit is energy star rated and as of the May 2005 comparison report – this unit is the most energy efficient unit in the entire energy star program. It can be used standalone in a basement or can also be ducted.

For those customers with more modest dehumidification needs, the DeLonghi dehumidifier (http://www. sylvane. com/delonghi-dehumidifiers. html) line may be a good fit. These units are energy star rated and come in varying capacities for different size areas and conditions. In addition, DeLonghi is one of the only manufacturers to provide a built-in condensate pump on select models at a relatively low price point.

For customers with more industrial or specialized requirements, Sylvane also carries Ebac dehumidifiers (http://www. sylvane. com/ebac. html). These units are rugged commercial grade units with very low temperature operation.

Customers interested in one of these solutions or a consultation on their mold issues should contact one of Sylvane’s product experts. Through a detailed consultation, customers can take a step in the direction of stopping mold problems before they occur.

Sylvane, Inc. focuses on air quality solutions and products for both the commercial and residential markets. A pioneer in the field of air quality and comfort, Sylvane provides detailed product information, product comparisons, and personalized consultation on air quality issues.

The patent claims that periodic inhalation of the vapors from these essential oils can provide a protective barrier against inhaled pathogens, preventing the initial infection of the common cold and flu, and therefore also protecting against the escalation of these infections into pneumonia and other respiratory problems. Independent references concerning the effectiveness of eucalyptus oil are quoted at www. NoColds-NoFlus. com.

“My wife and I invented these inhalers after I contracted a terrible lung infection following a plane trip to Houston over 4 years ago,” said Dr. Vail, vice president of Inhalation, Inc. “The infection destroyed one-third of my lung capacity leaving me gasping for breath and believing I was near death. My pulmonary physician diagnosed emphysema and warned that if I contracted another infection, I would likely be tethered to oxygen tanks for the rest of my life. Already suffering from asthma and prone to pneumonia, I almost always got sick when I traveled on planes and otherwise went into public places. My wife learned about the benefits of eucalyptus and tea tree oil during research on an unrelated health issue and she found that the Australian Aborigines have probably been using these oils for millennia. We developed the personal inhaler to provide an efficient and portable means of inhaling the vapors. Since I began inhaling the vapors from our invention over 3 years ago, I have had no lung infections or other respiratory infections. Other individuals have had similar results. These inventions have also dramatically cut my need for standard asthma medicines, including bronchial dilators and inhaled steroids.”

According to a study published in a July issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association, at least 19% of all airline passengers contacted one week after their trip reported respiratory infections. (JAMA, July 24/31, 2002 - Vol. 288, No. 4, pp. 483-486). This 19% illness rate clearly demonstrates the probability of catching respiratory diseases on aircraft.

In addition to its anti-pathogenic properties, many published references claim that eucalyptus oil thins mucous in the lungs and is a good expectorant after a cold or flu is contracted. The No Colds, No Flus™ Eucalyptus Inhaler contains 100% eucalyptus oil. Many users of the No Sinus Pain™ Inhaler, having both eucalyptus oil and tea tree oil, claim that inhaling these vapors opens up their clogged sinuses within 30 seconds to 2 minutes after use. Until now, inhaling these oils has been extremely difficult to do efficiently. Covering one’s head with a towel and leaning over a steaming bowl of hot water and eucalyptus oil was effective as a home remedy but was neither practical outside the home nor portable. Such boiling techniques are clearly not suitable in crowded airplanes, schools, hospitals, movie theaters and office buildings.

Michael Schiesser, M. D., who practices medicine in Bellevue, WA at the Moss Bay Center for Integrative Medicine, advocates an approach of blending conventional medicine with naturopathic remedies. Such an approach is emphasized in the book edited by Dr. Schiesser entitled “Blended Medicine, The Best Choices in Healing” (Rodale Press, 2000).

“One patient with asthma, and another with bronchitis stated that the No Colds, No Flus™ Inhaler helped to loosen mucous in their chests, and each returned requesting another inhaler,” said Dr. Schiesser. “I have given the No Sinus Pain™ Inhaler to several patients recently with sinus problems, and I have had at least five reports that the inhaler helped to soothe their sinuses and relieve their symptoms.” Dr. Schiesser further states “several people to whom I have provided the inhalers have also claimed that they use them often just because the various oils smell nice.”

The No Colds, No FlusÔ Eucalyptus Lung Inhaler and No Sinus PainÔ Inhaler are available for purchase at www. NoColds-NoFlus. com, along with the No Asthma Attack™ Inhaler, the No Head Ache™ Inhaler, and the No Stress, No Nerves™ Inhaler. The essential oils are 100% natural and are guaranteed to be free of pesticides. The company offers an unconditional money back guarantee on all of its products.

“Many of our customers now claim that they have a defense against airborne pathogens in airplanes and other public places, when someone coughs or sneezes near them,” said Marilyn Vail, president of Inhalation, Inc. “These inhalers have saved my husband’s life and we hope that others will similarly benefit.”

Other U. S. Patent applications filed by the Vails are entitled “Methods and Apparatus to Prevent Colds, Flus, Tuberculosis and Opportunistic Infections of the Human Respiratory System of Individuals Having Cystic Fibrosis” and “Methods and Apparatus to Prevent, Treat, and Cure Infections of the Human Respiratory System Including the Sinus Cavities, the Nasal Cavities, and the Throat.” The approaches in these patent applications also claim the inhalation of vapors from various essential oils or combination of oils.

Seattle-based Eulara Corporation, a plant essential oils company that focuses primarily on skin care products, including antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral applications, recently conducted a series of in vitro anti-microbial tests, which confirm the VailsÂ’ claims in the patent applications, as well as those cited in scientific literature.

“Our company has a substantial collection of human pathogenic bacteria which we use in our testing programs,” said Eulara chairman Dr. Richard Honour. “We challenged the eucalyptus and tea tree oils used in Inhalation, Inc.’s products against a broad collection of human clinical isolates of Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas, Mycobacterium, Salmonella, E. coli and other bacteria. Our test results showed significant, direct anti-microbial activity against these bacteria.” Dr. Honour holds a Ph. D. in Microbiology and Plant Pathology, and can be reached at www. Eulara. com.

Eulara’s test results support the contention, published in various reference materials available through the company, that the oils used in Inhalation’s No Sinus PainÔ inhaler have activity against certain strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which may cause fatal infections of the respiratory system of children suffering from cystic fibrosis. In addition, the patent applications claim that the same combination of oils could also be effective against a wide variety of mycobacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which causes TB.

“We are very encouraged by Eulara’s test results,” said Dr. Vail, “but before any of our inhalers are used for these particular purposes, they need FDA approval. We respect the FDA approval process, but due to our currently limited financial resources, we need significant help in this area to test, according to FDA guidelines, whether these inhalers can be used to prevent, treat or cure these infections. We are prepared to provide a large number of inhalers at no cost to interested physicians who see the benefit of further investigating their use in these areas. Until double-blind FDA-sanctioned studies are completed, we will continue to keep track of anecdotal stories from users of the inhalers, and provide quotes from relevant published references. In the meantime, we wish to properly emphasize that the FDA has not evaluated or approved any of the inhalers to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease,” says Dr. Vail.

Inhalation, Inc. is currently in negotiations to license its intellectual property to a limited liability corporation, which will repackage and sell the products in the retail channel. Interested parties are encouraged to contact the company for more information about the opportunity.

Mental Health Trust Turns Storerooms Into Office Space With Version One Magic

Mental Health Trust Turns Storerooms Into Office Space With Version One Magic

Leading NHS Mental Health Trust, Mersey Care, has implemented ‘paperless office’ technology from Version One to turn its document-filled storerooms back into office space.

(PRWEB) June 25, 2006

Leading NHS Mental Health Trust, Mersey Care, has implemented ‘paperless office’ technology from Version One to turn its document-filled storerooms back into office space. Version One’s electronic archive technology has also enabled Mersey Care to eliminate the time and costs associated with filing and retrieving documents manually, as well as the considerable inconvenience of off-site document storage.

John Farquhar, Senior Financial Accountant from Mersey Care says, “We needed more office space and the choices were to rent out additional offices at a separate location or to implement document management technology so that our existing storerooms could be turned back into working offices. It took little to convince us that document management software was the way forward. Not only could it free-up storage space, it could also improve communications across departments who share the same files and generally improve business efficiency whilst containing costs and making better use of staff time.”

“We selected Version One’s technology as it already tightly integrated into our core financials software and has the document indexing capabilities and the ease-of-use we required”, says Farquhar.

Now implemented, Version One’s electronic imaging technology has been used to free up huge amounts of space. Hundreds of thousands of documents have been scanned-in, electronically imaged and then stored and indexed in the central archive. Written agreement was obtained from the HM Revenue and Customs that once electronically stored in a scanning system that met government standards, the originals could be destroyed. To ensure physical storage is kept to a minimum, documents that are stored off-site as well all new incoming documents are also being scanned-in, electronically emailed across departments (which are in different towns) and electronically stored.

Farquhar comments, “Not only have we saved space, staff time and money by changing storerooms back into office space, we have also eliminated duplicated records and the need for off-site storage which was costing us thousands of pounds every year in rent and to retrieve archived documents. With Version One’s technology, having to wait 2-3 days for an archived document to arrive, and spending time locating and retrieving filed documents have also been eliminated – all documents are now instantly accessible from our core financials system.”

“Additionally, the problem of lost and misfiled documents has been eradicated, and for the first time, users can view the same document at the same time. This is more important than ever as the HR, Management Accountants and Payroll Departments are located on different sites 16 miles apart!”

As Mersey Care stipulated that all Payroll and HR documents relating to a single employee had to be electronically filed together, Version One configured the archive so that all documents relating to an individual (payslips, appointment forms, sick notes, disciplinary letters etc.) are automatically interlinked, creating a fast-track to jump from one type of document to another with just a ‘click of the mouse’. Farquhar says, “With some employees having over 600 documents relating to them, without the right indexes in place, we would have had to trawl through hundreds of different electronic images to find just one, which would have been a total nightmare. With the system from Version One, document retrieval is extremely easy and instantaneous.”

Farquhar concludes, “It’s fantastic – not only have we saved the considerable cost of renting additional office space, but we’re also making ongoing savings of staff time and therefore money!”

Wanda Kay Blevins Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for her Efforts to Promote Mine Safety: Widow of Mine Worker Killed in Explosion Lobbies for Improved Mine Safety

Wanda Kay Blevins Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for her Efforts to Promote Mine Safety: Widow of Mine Worker Killed in Explosion Lobbies for Improved Mine Safety

Wanda Kay Blevins, a mine safety lobbyist and retired licensed practical nurse, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for her determined efforts in demanding safer working conditions for miners. Her husband Dave and 12 other men were killed by a methane gas blast in the Jim Walters Mine No. 5 in Brookwood, Alabama on September 23, 2001. Dave Blevins was credited with saving 19 men and was posthumously awarded a Carnegie Medal of Honor on November 17, 2003. Wanda accepted it for him.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (PRWEB) June 20, 2007

Soon after the tragedy, Blevins and the families of the other coal miners killed in the explosion listened as U. S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao promised that the U. S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration would investigate the explosion to prevent further crises. However, less than five years later, a methane blast at the Sago Mine in West Virginia killed twelve. Blevins said at the time, "Here we go again, more miners, are they going to keep dying? My husband should not have died in vain."

Blevins, a lifetime member of Cambridge Who's Who, has lobbied to compel the Mine Safety and Health Administration, charged with protecting miners' safety and health, to re-group and be more proactive in their mine-safety investigations. Blevins has spoken before the Senate Committee on the existing conditions in mines and the improvements that need to be made. She also speaks nationally for the United Mine Workers of America. Due in part to her efforts, President Bush signed a mine-safety bill last June that provides for better-trained rescue teams, more underground oxygen supplies and harsher safety-violation fines.

Blevins is the former director of the health component of the Head Start program for McDowell County, West Virginia. She will appear on the Discovery Channel series Decoding Disaster: Mines throughout the month of June.

Caltrol Deploys Roaming Messenger Wireless Application to Enhance Customer Service and Manage Workflow

Caltrol Deploys Roaming Messenger Wireless Application to Enhance Customer Service and Manage Workflow

Communicate with Employees on Their Wireless Devices Wireless Automation of Business Processes Continues to Grow

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2004

Roaming Messenger(TM) (OTCBB: RMSG) announced today that process control products and services firm, Caltrol, Inc., has deployed the Roaming Messenger product to extend customer service and workflow processes to its mobile employees.

Caltrol's first use of the Roaming Messenger technology is to provide time-critical, roaming, self escalating notification of critical customer service issues during non-business hours. The assurance of delivery, timeliness, and accurate routing of these notifications to the appropriate service technician is critical to providing Caltrol's customers with excellent customer service and meeting Caltrol's service level agreement (SLA) commitments to its customers.

Caltrol's multitude of sales engineers and service technicians can now be contacted via Roaming Messenger technology on any of their wired or wireless devices, no matter where they are. In order for service technicians to be contacted in the minimal amount of time, Roaming Messenger notifications attempt to reach the technician by roaming through their various personal devices, such as cell phone, PDA, wireless laptop and wired computers to deliver critical information regarding Caltrol's client service requests.

Caltrol provides process control equipment and services to the power, oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical and water & wastewater industries throughout the Southwest portion of the United States. Caltrol's clients depend on Caltrol and their fleet of technicians to maintain critical systems. When there is an issue with their equipment, Caltrol can automatically dispatch a Roaming Messenger to the appropriate technician.

Harinder Dhillon, Roaming Messenger's Vice President of Operations, said "Roaming Messenger'S messaging and communication capabilities allow Caltrol to diminish client's downtime and helps Caltrol meet or exceed certain Service Level Agreements (SLA) in place with their clients. This results in happier clients for Caltrol which means a healthier bottom-line."

Erik Van Curen, Caltrol's Manager of Information Technology, said, "Before deploying Roaming Messenger, we were using a manual dispatch process to contact our technicians. This manual process had a lot of problems such as not finding the right technician, not knowing whether the customer was called back, etc. When installing the communication network to handle customer service calls in our new headquarters, we introduced Roaming Messenger as an adjunct to the phone system. I was extremely excited by the fact that Roaming Messenger capability had been integrated into our system and was up and running in a very short period of time. With Roaming Messenger integrated into our business process, we can confidently know that our customer requests will be serviced in a timely fashion."

"We are already excited about and developing additional innovative uses for this fantastic technology, and we look forward to working with the folks at Roaming Messenger to automate other business processes of our engineering and process control businesses, extending them out into the mobile world," concluded Mr. Van Curen.

“The corporation has become the dominant institution of our time and the evolution of corporate law principles has played a significant role in the expansion of corporate power,” said Eva Paterson, president of the Equal Justice Society. “In many cases that expansion endangers the environment, threatens human health and safety, increases wealth disparities both nationally and globally, and diminishes political and workplace democracy.”

“In response to these social and economic justice concerns, progressives have focused their efforts on addressing specific problems, such as racial equality, environmental protection, human rights, living wages, health care, safe workplaces, and peace and security,” said Dana Gold director of the Center on Corporations Law and Society at Seattle University School of Law. “These concerns have often splintered progressives as they attempt to stem erosion of fundamental principles of justice without fully appreciating a common factor—the corporation and its legal framework—that runs through all of these issues.”

Registration for the conference is now open online: http://conf2005.equaljusticesociety. net (http://conf2005.equaljusticesociety. net). New Glove is the Latest Weapon in the Food Service Industry

New Glove is the Latest Weapon in the Food Service Industry

Revolutionary technology in disposable gloves enables glove to kill bacteria on contact, continuously. These antimicrobial gloves will eventually be used in every establishment that serves food.

Marcy, NY (PRWEB) August 31, 2010

Restaurants are vulnerable to claims from customers who state they were sickened after eating there. Salmonella, E. coli and other diseases can destroy a restaurant.

Omni International LLC is introducing a new weapon in the fight against fungi and bacteria. The AMS Antimicrobial Gloves (http://www. mountainside-medical. com/products/Antimicrobial-Disposable-Vinyl-Gloves. html), designed especially for food service workers, provides a built-in protection that lasts for the life of the product. Mountainside Medical Equipment is one of the first to carry the glove.

"This Antimicrobial Glove is unlike anything we have ever seen before - a disposable vinyl glove that actually kills bacteria on contact continuously and stops the spread of harmful bacteria,” said Marty Zarnock Jr. vice president of Mountainside Medical Equipment. "I can see this glove being used in every establishment that serves food; from the local diners to the largest food chains in the world."

How does it work? Antimicrobial refers to any compound, including antibiotics, sanitizers, disinfectants, a number of food preservatives and other substances, that acts to inhibit the growth of or kill microorganisms. The AMS Technology kills bacteria by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms by using an electro-chemical mode of action to penetrate and disrupt their cell walls. When the cell walls are penetrated, leakage of metabolites occurs and other cell functions are disabled, thereby preventing the microorganism from functioning or reproducing.

"The food service industry is ecstatic about the new antimicrobial glove. They have been waiting for this glove for a long time,” said Marty Zarnock Sr., president of Mountainside Medical Equipment. "This revolutionary new antimicrobial glove is proven effective. It kills E. coli and several kinds of harmful bacteria on contact.”

The gloves have been proven to kill E. Coli, Listeria (Gram Positive Bacteria), Gram Negative Bacteria, MRSA, Staph, Strep, Fungi and all Black Mold. They use all-natural components that are environmentally friendly and are non-carcinogenic and non-allergenic.

"If you owned a restaurant, wouldn't you feel safer at night knowing that your kitchen staff is using a product that would kill any bacteria on food that they come in contact with and wouldn't contaminate the customer’s food?” Zarnock Jr. asked.

To order the glove visit http://www. mountainside-medical. com/products/Antimicrobial-Disposable-Vinyl-Gloves. html (http://www. mountainside-medical. com/products/Antimicrobial-Disposable-Vinyl-Gloves. html).

World Distilled Alcoholic Beverages Market to Reach Over $315 Billion by 2012, According to a New Report by Global Industry Analysts

World Distilled Alcoholic Beverages Market to Reach Over $315 Billion by 2012, According to a New Report by Global Industry Analysts

Driven by growing consumption in developing countries and the trend towards 'premiumization', the market for distilled alcoholic beverages is forecast to reach a value of over $315 billion by the year 2012.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) November 12, 2008

World market for distilled spirits is mature and well established in affluent nations, with saturation particularly apparent in North America, Western Europe, and Japan. To cash in on growing prosperity, multinational companies are aggressively expanding their presence in developing markets in Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe. Several factors affect and shape this highly regulated and lucrative industry. Growing inclination towards low-alcohol drinks among core demographic groups and increasing media attention on the negative impact of alcohol consumption continue to exert a profound effect on the market for beverage alcohol. However, the positive aspect comes in the form of 'premiumization' or the marked trend towards premium and super-premium products.

Significantly rising consumption in certain markets is the key growth driver in the world beverage alcohol market. Preference for alcoholic beverages generally tends to vary from region to region. Loyalty towards long-established regional industries is high in several markets, despite the growing influence of globalization and multinational brand leaders. Indigenous traditions and national pride have a significant influence on alcoholic beverage preferences and consumption patterns across regional markets. Several developing countries are increasingly being exposed to international spirits, with consumers in these countries adopting western lifestyles. The rapid pace of urbanization is a major factor driving growth across most of these markets. This led to consumers having greater access to brands through rapidly developing on-trade and off-trade establishments, as well as greater affordability due to increasing disposable income levels. Furthermore, growing health concerns and negative media attention regarding alcohol intake exert a deep impact on consumption patterns.

World Alcoholic Beverages (Distilled Spirits) market (http://www. strategyr. com/Alcoholic_Beverages_Distilled_Spirits_Market_Report. asp) in terms of volume is forecast to reach about 25.3 billion liters by 2015, as stated by Global Industry Analysts, Inc. In terms of value, the market is expected to reach US$315 billion in 2012. Europe is the largest value market with an estimated share of 34%. Asia-Pacific is by far, the largest market in terms of volume sales with a share of 47%. The dominance reflects widespread popularity of local spirits, especially rice-based spirits such as baijiu in China and soju in South Korea. Asia-Pacific is forecast to emerge as the fastest growing region in terms of value as well as volume growth. The world market for Brown Spirits (Whisky, Dark Rum and Brandy) (http://www. strategyr. com/Alcoholic_Beverages_Distilled_Spirits_Market_Report. asp) is projected to exceed US$100 billion in 2010, with Whisky representing the largest product segment by value. The world market for White Spirits (Vodka, Gin and White Rum) (http://www. strategyr. com/Alcoholic_Beverages_Distilled_Spirits_Market_Report. asp) is forecast to reach a value of about US$80 billion in 2012. The on-trade sector continues to be the most popular consumption channel among young consumers.

The market is characterized by the presence of several well-known international companies and reputed brands. Market participants include Asahi Breweries Ltd., Bacardi & Co Ltd., Brown-Forman Beverage Co., Campari Group, Companhia Müller de Bebidas, Diageo Plc, Fortune Brands Inc., Foster's Group Limited, Carlton & United Breweries, Jinro Ltd., OST Alko, Pernod Ricard Groupe, Remy-Cointreau, San Miguel Corporation, Sang Som Co Ltd, Suntory Ltd, Takara Shuzo Co Ltd, Tanduay Distillers Inc., UB Group, United Winery & Distillery Co Ltd and William Grant & Sons Ltd among others.
