New Charles Atlas Cartoon “Style” Ads are Back From the Dead

New Charles Atlas Cartoon “Style” Ads are Back From the Dead

Announcing AdToons. com: A new web based business creating engaging cartoons to wildly exaggerate, super humanize and make yourself larger than life to outsell anyone online – even if you have zero personality.

Sylvania, OH (PRWEB) April 22, 2006

What's new is old and what old is new again. The legendary marketing campaign for Charles Atlas fitness books - titled, “The Insult that Made a Man Out of MAC" was one of the most memorable advertisements ever. This effectively run cartoon ad continues to run to this day. You can't deny how effective it was because the message has stuck with so many individuals after 60 years. Now one business, called Ad Toons is bringing the cartoon style advertisement back from the dead.

“One of the elements that made the Atlas ads so effective,“ says Vince Palko, founder of Ad Toons "is the advertising didn't look like advertising, they were cartoons." These colorful images told a funny and entertaining story to readers - one they could relate to. As a result, the Ads were extremely effective and the same goes for Ad Toons cartoon ads. "Today people are on information overload and online businesses need ways to connect with their audience - one way is to advertise funny, entertaining cartoons that sell product.“

These cartoons, or Ad Toons, are super popular with Internet businesses and entrepreneurs because they enhance web sales copy due to the fact sales people aren't available to sell to the website visitor face-to-face. They keep the reader's attention and allude to how the customers’ future will be by buying the product.

Another way Ad Toons support their web-based clients is through lead generation tactics. Having an unlimited amount of new customers to access is critical for business growth. Imagine how easy it would be to have a system in place that creates buzz and interest to retain webs visitors email addresses. This is the biggest asset any business can produce – a prospect list. If they don't have a list of contact information from visitors it's nearly impossible to stay afloat in the online world.

Before you add another single word more to your ad copy, you need to consider using captivating and entertaining Ad Toons to enhance sales copy and collect email addresses to sustain a healthy bottom line. For more information on how Ad Toons can help your online business, contact Vince Palko or go to http://www. adtoons. com (http://www. adtoons. com).

The new liposuction techniques are safe and effective and have less associated cost

The new liposuction techniques are safe and effective and have less associated cost

Tumescent liposuction has made liposuction a sfe procedure. Liposuction is the number one comsetic surgical procedure in this country, and on the rise. It is to the patietns best interest to know the difference between differnt liposuction techniques, adn associated risks.

(PRWEB) February 4, 2004

Liposuction is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the United States. Since it was first introduced in the United States in the 1980Â’s, many refinements have been made (more on the history of Liposuction). The most significant improvement was the use of dilute local anesthetic instead of general anesthesia, which was invented by a dermatologic surgeon, Dr. Klein. This is referred to as the Klein tumescent technique (more on comparison of different liposuction techniques).

With liposuction surgery, both men and women can improve the contours of their bodies through a relatively simple and safe technique. Liposuction surgery involves the removal of fat cells from the body. It is designed for those who have specific areas of localized fat deposits and who have tried unsuccessfully to eliminate them through diet, exercise and weight loss.

While the procedure is not designed to correct general obesity, any area where excess fat deposits have accumulated can be treated. These include the chin, neck, jowls, cheeks, arms, inner and outer thighs, buttocks, knees, hips and abdomen. Men with enlarged breasts can also benefit from this technique.

Before Surgery

Prior to surgery, a complete medical history is taken in order to evaluate the general health of the patient. The procedure is almost always performed under local anesthesia.

The Procedure

The "tumescent" procedure is used where a large amount of diluted local anesthetic is injected into the area. This procedure has the advantage of reducing pain and bruising in the area. The physician then makes a small incision in the skin and inserts a micro cannula attached to a vacuum suction. This is a new method, where the size of the cannula used are so small that the procedure is made more safe, with less down time and more consistent results. The liquified fat is then removed from the body by suction. After the incisions are closed, a compressive dressing or bandage is applied to the area to prevent bleeding, reduce swelling and support the affected area.

Following Surgery

A compression garment is worn for about one week following the surgery. Following surgery, pain is minimal to moderate and is controlled with oral medication. Antibiotics are prescribed to prevent infection. Most patients are completely ambulatory immediately following surgery but rest is recommended for the initial postoperative period. Patients are usually able to return to normal activities within a few days although vigorous physical activity is discouraged immediately following surgery.

Who is a potential candidate?

Most patients have localized fat deposits and some of our happiest patients are within twenty to thirty pounds of their ideal weight, and have been stable at that weight for years. Some patients have certain bulges irrespective of their weight and others are content with their weight, but would be more comfortable if certain bulges were recontoured. The best candidates for liposuction are in good health and have realistic expectations of the benefits of liposuction.

Small Changes on GAC: Big Stars Find Little Ways to Change Their Lives

Small Changes on GAC: Big Stars Find Little Ways to Change Their Lives

Amy Grant, Trisha Yearwood and Little Big Town have all lived through major changes in their careers and personal lives. Each of them has found that small changes in their daily lives can often make the biggest difference and they share some of their observations on Small Changes, Thursday, April 24, 8:30 (pm ET) on the Great American Country network.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N. J. (PRWEB) April 21, 2008

Amy Grant recognizes the value of making small changes to improve her family's health and well-being. She balances a busy work schedule with much-needed family time by keeping the right perspective and never losing sight of the bigger picture. "Say out loud the things you are grateful for," she explains. "Gratitude is a good beginning for physical health, for emotional health and for spiritual health."

Trisha Yearwood acknowledges her family has been central to her success. "The encouragement along the way from my parents...those little things they said that stayed with me," she says. "I think that's a major reason why I'm here." As for making small changes in cooking, exercise and attitude, Yearwood's stance is "Everything in moderation, including moderation!"

Life on a tour bus for a quartet, two spouses and two infants can certainly get complicated. So the members of Little Big Town make it a point to stay aware of small changes they can make to keep things running smoothly. As new parents, member Phillip Sweet and wife Rebecca's challenge has been to not get lost in the band's hectic pace.

"For me, it's knowing when to just listen and take in all that we're doing," he says. "To not miss any of the moments and to be present." Karen Fairchild explains how the band was able to keep going in spite of many obstacles along the way. "When we hit the first obstacle in the business, just the belief in the music and the desire to keep showing up; that little thing - that philosophy - really paid off for us."

Small Changes is sponsored by new Shedd's Spread Country Crock(R) Omega Plus. Consumers are invited to visit www. YourFamilyTable. com to share the little things they do to improve their families' health. With each small change shared, Country Crock Omega Plus will donate a meal to a family in need through America's Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network(1). Country Crock Omega Plus is an easy way for families to get more Omega 3 ALA in their diet. It contains 500 mg of Omega 3 ALA per serving from nutritious oils, like canola and soybean. Home Wine Making Industry Turned Upside Down

Home Wine Making Industry Turned Upside Down

Just when you think that things can't get better, out comes a young invention that promises to change the entire genre. In this case, the genre is home wine making and the invention is the home booze kit. If you thought making wine in 30 days ways fast, try four days.

(PRWEB) January 20, 2008

People have been making wine (http://www. homeboozekit. com/storing-your-home-made-wine-ciders-and-booze-12) for years, but never in history has there been a method to make wine in the fastest way possible, and that is in just four days. "Fermentation, or wine making (http://www. homeboozekit. com/sugar-and-wine-making-13/), used to take weeks, four weeks at least, but with the Home Booze Kit, it only takes four days," explains the creator of the "Home Booze Method" and the inventor of the "Home Booze Kit," June Beezy.

According to June, "As people or as humans, once we discover what works, we tend to forget that it is possible to make that certain thing even better or improve the entire process. I mean if it ain't broke, why fix it, right? But that is exactly where I put my imagination to use, and now you can turn any juice into a delicious alcoholic beverage in just a few days."

The Home Booze Kit is a simple home wine making kit (http://www. homeboozekit. com/) that enables anyone to turn their favorite juice into a delicious alcoholic beverage -- not just limited to wine, which can be made simply by using a grape juice of your choice. "I really wanted to know that what I developed would help everyday people, so I decided to sell it on ebay, and the feedback has been phenomenal," explains Mr. Beezy.

With no extra wine making equipment (http://www. homeboozekit. com/an-introduction-to-home-wine-making-14/) or wine making supplies to purchase, the home booze kit seems to be a very groundbreaking invention. The Home Booze Kit is set at a very affordable rate and promises a different way of fermentation and tons of savings to the end user. Not to forget the health factor, as no preservatives are used except those contained in the juice you use to create your favorite alcoholic beverage.

"My goal is for people to save money and still have fun on their weekends without having to empty pockets on the next Monday," chuckles the creator of the Home Booze Kit. The Home Booze Kit seems like a revolutionary introduction to the rather slow, easy going and quiet wine making industry. If you have ever been interested in making homemade wine from juice (http://www. homeboozekit. com/best-juice-for-your-wine-10/), the Home Booze Kit can help you get started. The home wine making genre is growing by leaps and bounds every year as people discover how easy and affordable it is.

Musicians Putting a Positive Face on Recovery During National Recovery Month

Musicians Putting a Positive Face on Recovery During National Recovery Month

Clean and sober musicians and SunlightOfTheSpiritMusic. com pay tribute to National Recovery Month.

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) September 22, 2006

Sunlight of the Spirit Music (SunlightOfTheSpiritMusic. com (http://www. sunlightofthespiritmusic. com)), the only music store on the planet specializing in CDs from artists in recovery -- all kinds of recovery and all kinds of music -- hopes to put a positive face on recovery.

Founded in January 2006, by Nashville songwriter, author and podcast creator Gracie Hollombe Vandiver, Sunlight of the Spirit Music offers CDs in all styles of music created by artists in recovery. "So many recognizable and well-respected recording artists, who were once known for their excesses, are now creating great music without the use of drugs or alcohol," claims Vandiver. "They have become positive role models."

The niche music store also features the largest selection of 12-Step and "recovery music" available under one roof. "Recovery Music is a category of music encompassing all genres, in which the lyrics often contain a spiritual message or share experience, strength and hope from alcoholism and other addictions," says Vandiver. Many recovering alcoholics, addicts and their family members are discovering the value of listening to recovery music as a tool for staying spiritually balanced, as evidenced by a steady growth in the store's recovery music CD sales.

Sunlight of the Spirit Music is honoring National Recovery Month by lowering prices on every CD in its online store for the entire month of September. The storewide sale coincides with National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month (http://www. recoverymonth. gov), a nationwide celebration of those in recovery from substance use disorders, sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), part of the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services (recoverymonth. gov).

Are You Looking For An Excellecent Children's Book To Teach What Epilepsy Is To Your Child?

Are You Looking For An Excellecent Children's Book To Teach What Epilepsy Is To Your Child?

Do You Or A Love One Have Epilepsy? Does Your Child Have Epilepsy? Millions of people have epilepsy or experience Seizures. Are you one of them?

(PRWEB) January 30, 2005

Are you trying to figure out how to explain to your child or a child in your family about your disorder, so they will understand what epilepsy is and what they can do to help you when you are experiencing a seizure?

Many parents read this book to their children. I received a lot of positive feedback. This book teaches young children about epilepsy. It helps children understand what a seizure is and not to get scared if they see someone having a seizure.

It helps educate children and help them understand what they can do if a friend or love one is having a seizure. There are so many myths that still roam through our society about epilepsy. "My Mommy Has Epilepsy" gives children and their family truth; medical facts explained in simplistic terminology so there is a clear understanding about epilepsy.

I am a writer and I have published a book called “Epilepsy You’re Not Alone.” Epilepsy You’re Not Alone is an inspirational self - help book that teaches people with epilepsy how to live a healthy and productive life. The book shares encouraging stories and gives readers a workable program for coping with their disorder enabling readers to overcome their disorder and get on with their lives.

I have a third book coming out this fall called “Epilepsy and Pregnancy: What Every Women Should Know”, Co-authored by Dr. Blanca Vasques. Through my efforts, I have been able to show other women that it is not impossible to become a mother. I have given women and couples hope and a new look on life. Epilepsy is just a disorder. Your life does not end because you have epilepsy.

I have a forth book coming out in the fall of 2005, called “Eternal Love: Romantic Poetry That Comes Straight from the Heart”. I have a fifth book coming out called, “Faith, Courage, Wisdom Strength and Hope: Inspirational Poetry that comes from the Heart”.

Accomplishments: I am an H. O.P. E. Mentor, for the Epilepsy Foundation. I speak at different events for schools, organizations, political events and anywhere my help is needed to educate people about epilepsy. I have recently been on four talk shows. The interviews focused on the importance of understanding what epilepsy is, how to help someone having a seizure and giving people with epilepsy encouragement and hope for the future.

I have been on radio stations discussing epilepsy and I have recently appeared in many newspapers all over New Jersey such as, The Leader, Belleville Post and the Star Ledger. On June 26, 2002, I was honored an award by the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey for Outstanding Volunteer Award and I spoke in Washington in front of congress.

Stacey Chillemi is available for interviews.

Mi-Co Funded by National Cancer Institute to Deploy Mi-Forms into Imaging Clinical Trials

Mi-Co Funded by National Cancer Institute to Deploy Mi-Forms into Imaging Clinical Trials

Team wins Small Business Innovation Research award to deploy Mi-Forms and study its effectiveness for clinical trial data collection at UNC.

Research Triangle Park, NC (PRWEB) November 25, 2004

Mi-Co and its partners, the University of North Carolina (UNC) Breast Imaging Section, Health Decisions and American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN) have been awarded a $750,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract by the National Institute of HealthÂ’s National Cancer Institute. Mi-Co will utilize its Mi-Forms product suite in order to study the impact of the industry-leading digital writing, data capture software in a clinical trials setting.

This contract will build upon previously successful work by Mi-Co and UNC Breast Imaging Section. In the Phase I study, the research team assessed alternative pen based methods of recording clinical trial data through the digital writing process. The research team found that the Tablet PC and the Anoto functionality Digital Pen when using the Mi-Forms Software were more efficient, effective and satisfying to users than the more traditional methods. The traditional methods assessed included standard pen on paper processes as well as first generation digital writing technology using the Pocket PC.

In the second phase of the program, Mi-Co, ACRIN and UNC will deploy Mi-Forms with Digital Pens and Tablet PCs on a targeted basis for a clinical trial that is being conducted at UNC.

Dr. Etta Pisano at UNC is optimistic about the use of the Mi-Co technology in the clinical trial setting. “Mi-Co’s technology is very exciting because it will make participation in clinical trials easier and more acceptable to very busy clinicians. The digital writing techniques we have been testing are much easier to use than a keyboard and mouse. In addition, these techniques will provide more accurate data because of the system’s ability to check for data errors throughout the process from data capture to data communication.”

“The entire project team is truly excited about this award. We will see the entire system working in a very demanding environment because of FDA regulations for clinical trials software and processes and the very high data quality standards of the ACRIN organization,” said Dr. Greg Clary, Principal Investigator and CTO at Mi-Co.

“The payoff for organizations conducting clinical trials and using digital writing technology could be extraordinary,” continued Clary. “The number of steps that can be eliminated or reduced in the process of data capture to data utilization and analysis is significant. We have seen the impact of the ease of use of the Mi-Forms system, as well as the positive impact of the system’s error checking, in a number of settings and adding the ACRIN clinical trials process will be beneficial to all organizations that are subject to FDA requirements.”

In addition to the specific assessment of data capture and digital writing solutions that turn handwriting into electronic text, the study also includes implementing the transfer of data from Mi-Forms to ACRINÂ’s Oracle backend system via XML.

About Mi-Co

Mi-Co, the mobile data capture company, provides digital writing software that enables an efficient and effective process for capturing and communicating handwritten data. Mi-CoÂ’s enterprise Mi-Forms Software System enables flexible e-forms design for data capture using digital ink. In addition, Mi-Forms Software has proven capabilities for handwriting interpretation, verification, data validation and communication of forms-based data for enterprise users. Mi-Forms supports Tablet PCs, Digital Pens, Pocket PCs and signature capture devices. Mi-Co is headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and has a Washington customer service center. Digital Tuning, Inc. Releases PocketLOGGER ZT Datalogging Software

PocketLOGGER ZT datalogging software, designed to work in conjunction with the Zeitronix Zt-2 Wideband A/F Meter, allows engine tuners to view and datalog vital engine information on their Palm OS PDA.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) September 13, 2005

Digital Tuning, Inc., an industry leader in Palm OS based automotive datalogging systems, is proud to announce the release of PocketLOGGER ZT Datalogging software. Digital Tuning and Zeitronix have teamed up to provide an economical way for professional engine tuners and car enthusiasts alike to monitor and datalog engine vitals, including Air/Fuel ratio.

"Aftermarket wideband Air/Fuel sensors and their required electronics are becoming more and more affordable to car enthusiasts," says Mike Montalvo, CEO of Digital Tuning. "For anyone serious about tuning the fuel delivery in their street or race car, having a Wideband Air/Fuel Meter is a must. PocketLOGGER ZT with the Zeitronix Zt-2 provides an easy way to view and datalog the vital information from the Wideband so that it can be analyzed later, without the need to lug a laptop around."

Many racetracks will not allow laptops in the car while racing but will allow PDAs. With PocketLOGGER ZT, the PDA can be safely stored in a glove compartment for safety, while datalogging engine vitals. PDAs can also be easily mounted to the dash to provide a real time digital display.

Based off the proven PocketLOGGER datalogging platform, PocketLOGGER ZT gives users the ability to view and datalog information from the Zeitronix Zt-2, including Lambda, throttle position, RPM, exhaust gas temperature, manifold pressure, as well as any 0-5volt external sensor. Once datalogged, the data can be retrieved and viewed on the PDA at any time. The user can set threshold alarms to warn of unsafe conditions and log triggers that will start the datalog when certain conditions are met.

"If you're modifying your engine in any way, datalogging this type of data is vital to keeping tabs on your engine's health. Without it, there is a good possibility of blowing your engine." says Montalvo.

Single Parents Ease Financial Struggles with Home Businesses

Single Parents Ease Financial Struggles with Home Businesses

Struggling single parents are adding to one-income homes by starting part time or home businesses and finding success. Read about one parent who found her success by helping others in her shoes.

Jarrettsville, MD (PRWEB) February 14, 2006

Bonnie Kotch was having a bad year in 2003. Her marriage had been falling apart, a bad business partner took off with their clients’ money, and her husband came home one day and told her that when her boys were 18, he was leaving her.

“I went into a tailspin,” admits Bonnie. She had been self employed for over four years at that point. After loosing her clients, she found herself looking for $7.00 an hour jobs in a rural area that “really offered nothing more than that.”

Her kids lost their healthcare when her husband quit his full time job to go back to school, expecting Bonnie to support him. Bonnie was looking for work in the economically depressed Northeast Pennsylvania and coming up empty. She wasn’t about to spend the next four years working at some convenience store so her husband could get his degree and leave her. She moved out in June of 2003.

“I had two teenage boys, no job, no healthcare for them, my business in shambles, I owed money to people. I had to move in with my mother at the age of thirty-eight and rock bottom hadn’t even started yet.” She recalls with a hint of the anger she felt, “I had to go on assistance. I was demoralized. I couldn’t even afford a divorce.”

After taking a job that paid less than $200 a week with an insurance company, she made the decision to move to another area where her skills were more in demand, but she ran into other problems. Her credit was bad because of sudden lack of income, and her employment history stopped in 1998. What skills she had were not wanted without a degree and she didn’t have one. Unresolved bills, car repossession, not to mention the usual gilt, anger and fear one has for their children’s well-being.

She was sick of employers evaluating her on lack of degree, digging into her credit, interrogating her on her recently spotty employment. “Why do I need to spend $50,000 dollars and four years of my life to get a piece of paper to prove I know what I’ve already put into action?” She points out. “And credit? It’s none of their business. I will never again sign a piece of paper inviting some twenty-five year old human resource manager into my private financial affairs. I was done job hunting. It was a major wake up call.” Remembering the frustration, she adds “I don’t need someone who doesn’t know me at all, to tell me what I’m worth. That was the end of my self pity party.”

Bonnie had kept a newsletter running two years after her split with her husband. Most of her subscribers were single parents, through divorce or death. Most of them were looking for ways to make money online. Some of them made money selling her clients’ goods online.

In corresponding with these people, Bonnie realized that they had talents and skills that weren’t being used. “People going online looking to make some extra income just look for the bold ads with the dollar signs. They don’t realize that they have products, knowledge and the skills to offer services to people who need them.” She says, “These people are creative! One lady was a literacy professor! She could start her own online tutoring site! Another guy was a retired music history teacher. Another was a software creator! All these people had something that would make someone else’s life easier, be it a product, a service or just knowledge! Everyone is an expert at something.”

In early 2005, Bonnie continued her newsletter, but began expanding her site with the idea of helping people package their product, and promote it for free or nearly free. “Most people don’t know that you really don’t need a business loan to get a business started, even if you are starting it offline.”

Trinity Affiliate Marketing Systems grew out of a bombed business that held on to survival by a newsletter that people still gravitated toward. “My gift has been in helping people achieve what they previously thought beyond them.” Bonnie says. “TAMS is not a course or an e-book. It’s a practical application system that is designed to help struggling web site owners, affiliate marketers, and home business owners develop their own business ideas, set up, and advertise for little or no money.”

How is that possible?

Bonnie replies, “Everyone has something that can help someone else. It’s not so much a business system, but a sharing system. We have good writers that are members; we have webmasters that are members, publishers, software creators, and teachers. What someone else needs, someone else has.” She beams. “We have a joint venture community. We help people find partners to get their business ideas launched. If they can’t find someone, we find one for them.”

Bonnie offers home business start up business plan templates, mini-courses on market research and competition analysis and business development. Her 7-step system includes web site development and tools, product vendors to partner with, free advertising sources, writing tutorials, joint venture partner directory and one-on-one assistance from start to profit.

"People can do this." She says, "If I can bring money into my house, with the monkeys I had on my back, I know someone else can do it. They just need support and encouragement, and a break."

She also offers a members forum, where service sharing/swapping is negotiated, a free report on the benefits of Joint Ventures and a free weekly newsletter.

Manitoba Regional Health Authorities on Track to Achieving HR Standardization

Manitoba Regional Health Authorities on Track to Achieving HR Standardization

QHR Software helping Manitoba health organizations to standardize workforce reporting, policies and processes across the Province.

Kelowna, BC (PRWEB) April 4, 2007

QHR Software Inc., creator of Quadrant HR software solutions, has begun a Human Resource (http://www. qhrsoftware. com/manitobahealth. html) Standardization Initiative with Manitoba Health, the Labour Relations Secretariat and the Regional Health Authorities.

The project's objective is to facilitate consistent practices and reporting metrics and measurements in healthcare organizations throughout the Province. To achieve this goal, the stakeholders will work together to leverage Quadrant HR and identify business processes, reports and workflows which can be standardized.

"We believe that the partnership with Manitoba Health, the regional health authorities and QHR Software will have enormous benefits to all of us. Standardized, regular reports using QHR software should lighten the requirements of overloaded HR staff," says Terry Goertzen, Executive Director, Workforce Policy and Planning with Manitoba Health. "Developing common reporting standards around key HR data is an important step in planning for the health workforce of tomorrow," he added.

The objectives identified in the three-phase project include identifying and prioritizing reports and processes that will benefit all regions. Some examples include:
1. Development of an annual nursing vacancy report.
2. Develop a QHR Reports Standard for all regions to fulfill Manitoba Health requests.
3. Develop a process to consistently identify employee contacts for emergency planning purposes (e. g. in the event of a Pandemic such as the Avian flu virus).
4. Address the capacity of disability management reporting.

The initiative will enable the Regional Health Authorities to stay on track to achieving standardized workforce policies and processes across the Province.

Regional standardization will benefit all those involved to better manage business process and prepare for the future.

Jason Marchand, Vice President of Support Services and Human Resources at Brandon Regional Health Authority says, "We are looking forward to this partnership. Full integration of all of our Human Resources IT systems will be instrumental in achieving our objectives. Quadrant HR will allow us to better manage our business process and meet new challenges. QHR's previous experience in the complex health care environment makes us confident that we are getting value for our investment."

The relationship between QHR, Manitoba Health and the regions continue to strengthen and evolve as QHR has become a vendor of choice within the Province. QHR is either working with or in contract negotiations with every Manitoba region. The majority of the regions are 'live' with Payroll (http://www. qhrsoftware. com/payroll. html) and Staff Scheduling (http://www. qhrsoftware. com/HR_staff_scheduling. html). Working together to deliver quantifiable results is a priority for all to ensure maximum impact of investment, better Provincial visibility and a common framework for all to leverage.

QHR Software Inc. develops, implements and supports a user-defined, configurable software solution called Quadrant HR (http://www. qhrsoftware. com/HRsolutions. html), which integrates best practices for Human Resources (http://www. qhrsoftware. com/human_resources. html), Staff Scheduling and Payroll into a single system. Proven in the healthcare sector, the clear advantages of Quadrant HR are being discovered by other industries such as forestry and public security, where complex labor rules require robust HRIS (http://www. qhrsoftware. com/HRsolutions. html) automation tools.

(PRWEB) July 23, 2004

Bangalore-based Avesthagen announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Raisio Group of Finland giving Avesthagen exclusive marketing rights to Raisio’s top-selling product – Benecol in India.

Benecol is a plant-derived product, which - in 40 separate clinical trials conducted globally - has been shown to lower cholesterol levels. It is widely used as a food ingredient in products such as yoghurt, yoghurt drinks, other milk-based drinks, buttermilk, margarine, pasta, cereal bars, ready-to-eat casseroles, mayonnaise-based salads, cheese and cheese spreads in the U. S. and the EU.

According to Mr. Tehmaas Gorimaar, Senior Vice President AQUAS, Benecol will be marketed by AQUAS, the services and sales arm of Avesthagen. “Avesthagen is rolling out its funbctional food programme with the marketing of Benecol. New Non-Profit Organization Changing the Way We View Co-Occurring Eating Disorders and Substance Abuse Hosts Three Support Rallies in December

New Non-Profit Organization Changing the Way We View Co-Occurring Eating Disorders and Substance Abuse Hosts Three Support Rallies in December

Recovery Path Foundation (RPF) is a 501c3 non-profit organization pioneering the way we view, provide health care to, and support those seeking recovery from co-occurring eating disorders and substance addiction (EDSA). To introduce the organization to the Tampa Bay community, outline RPFÂ’s goals and mission, and educate on this issue that affects us all, RPF will be hosting 3 rallies in December at their office to foster support.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) December 4, 2004

Recovery Path Foundation (RPF) is a 501c3 non-profit organization pioneering the way we view, provide health care to, and support those seeking recovery from co-occurring eating disorders and substance addiction (EDSA). To introduce the organization to the Tampa Bay community, outline RPFÂ’s goals and mission, and educate on this issue that affects us all, RPF will be hosting 3 rallies in December at their office to foster support.

While a major focus will be on research and education, RPF will, in the future, provide grants to qualified individuals requiring engagement in a prescribed, long-term treatment plan. Eligibility will be based on commitment level, financial status, and proper diagnosis.

“Every single member of society is affected by eating disorders and substance abuse – directly through their own personal experience, dealing with family, friends or loved ones and indirectly through personal safety, increases in healthcare costs or issues in the workplace,” says Leslie Migliozzi, Executive Director of Recovery Path Foundation. “If we were to invite everyone with EDSA in the greater Tampa Bay area to a football game, we’d be close to having a sold-out stadium.”

According to a December 2003 report by The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, 50% of people with an eating disorder abuse drugs or alcohol, and 35% of people with substance dependence has an eating disorder.

RPF is collaborating with reputable mental health facilities, treatment centers and professionals; academic institutions; businesses; legislators; and community organizations to develop programs that answer the questions: What does co-occurring mean? What are the signs? How do we eliminate the shame? How do we remove the barriers to healthcare? How can the community help?

“In addition to other fundraising activities and partnerships, we are starting an intensive 30-40-50 campaign,” says Carol Wheeler, Director of Development for Recovery Path Foundation. “We are asking for (30) $5000, (40) $1000, and (50) $500 donations, although we welcome any amount. We need these funds because investing in the prevention and treatment of these diseases can save us millions in the costs of the consequences.”

In 2001, a study commissioned by the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, the Schneider Institute for Health Policy at Brandeis University found that there is a significant national population battling substances - 18 million people with alcohol, 6 million with drugs and more than 5 million people have an eating disorder. For every $1 spent on preventative treatment, society can save between $4 and $15 on the consequences.

“We understand that we cannot treat these diseases with a quick fix. What we need to do is educate, inform and invest in long-term, comprehensive care… and it takes us all to make a difference,” says Migliozzi.

Recovery Path Foundation is headquartered in Tampa, FL, and is already gaining national interest and encouragement from professionals in the healthcare field. For more information on the December Support Rallies, to learn about RPFÂ’s first EDSA Support Group Meeting, or to learn about how you can help, contact Recovery Path Foundation at 908 W Horatio Street, Suite A, Tampa, FL 33606 or 813-514-0350

Move Over Diamonds! Girls Have A New Best Friend: Innovative Interactive Guide to Life, in Your Own Words

Move Over Diamonds! Girls Have A New Best Friend: Innovative Interactive Guide to Life, in Your Own Words

The first digital handbook created for young women ages 17-25 by young women-- designed to help with the transitions from high school to college and college to the real world.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 5, 2006

Growing up is hard to do! However, with the help of Brette Borow CEO and Founder of GirlsGuideTo. com, the first digital handbook for women ages 17-25, the transition is guaranteed to be less painful. Girls’ Guide To is an interactive online destination with content 100% driven by the audience themselves.

“Our goal is to inspire every young woman to feel positively about herself. Girls’ Guide To was created to resonate with all females in our audience. It’s feminine, fun, and straight to the point,” Borow said.

The site which had its soft launch in May of 2006 provides a source of education, information, and support. Users easily navigate between the six main sections: Love and Sex, Beauty and Style, Mind and Body, College and Career, and 411 (everyday information for everyday issues). Articles combined with online forums, streaming video content, and home-page profile set-up capabilities allow girls to connect, speak out, and ask questions they might not be able to ask anywhere else.

“It all started because the eight other girls in the founding circle and I got tired of feeling that everyone was talking about us rather than to us. We set out to create a place that not only spoke to us but let us speak out too!,” said Borow, “A place where we could share our stories, ask our questions, and get advice, from people going through the exact same thing. A place that was honest, ripe, and organic. We did it, and that place is now Girls’ Guide To.,.”

The founding circle is made up of nine young women, all educated in different walks of life. They’re scattered around the United States and all believe whole-heartedly in the mission of Girls Guide To.

Backing up the Founding Circle is its Board of Advisors. A group of successful women established in various fields including healthcare, fashion, marketing, finance and entertainment.

“Not only do we have our thoughts and stories, but we have the expertise and professionalism of women who have lived it and prove that you can make what you want of your life,” says Cassie Mancuso, founding circle member.

“It’s more than a website, it truly is a destination. It’s the stuff we dealt with or are even still dealing with. Love, life, relationships, finances, grad school, finding the perfect career, or even just an apartment!,” Isabel Mize, founding circle member, said. “Young women are living on their own for the first time and it’s scary. We’re trying to offer as real a look as possible into the ‘real world’.”

“It’s like passing the baton. We’ve all had to learn a lot the hard way. Now we can be the reassurance that life moves on, the dramas pass, and in the end you’re still standing,” Borow said.

Girls’ Guide To is definitely not short on content. From the perfect job interview outfit to eating disorders; it’s all covered. Visitors to the site can post questions, write their own articles on topics and direct the site in any direction they want it to go.

Simone Anderson-Thompson a high school counselor and founding circle member reiterates, “So many of today’s young women are facing the challenges of the new world. Some can’t turn to their parents, and others might not feel comfortable asking their friends. That’s where Girls’ Guide To comes in.”

“I wish there was something like this when I was growing up… I work with young women on a regular basis and just knowing that there is now a place for them to go where they are understood for not only who they are but what they are going through is what is so appealing about Girls’ Guide To,” says Advisory Board member, Heather Rider, Los Angeles personal trainer/eating disorder specialist.

Hard topics are tackled, but that’s just the beginning of Girls’ Guide To. The site offers daily tips, fun recipes to try, book reviews, shopping tips, regular car maintenance, and other miscellaneous “411” tid-bits.

“The point is if a user wants to see something on the site, then we’re going to try our best to find an answer, an article, or someone that can relate to that. It’s taking all the advice our moms taught us and putting a fresh twist and outlook on it,” said Borow, “That’s why we’re here. At the end of the day we’ve been there, we’ve done that, and we’ve survived!”

Girls’ Guide To is excited to give young women the opportunity to join www. GirlsGuideTo. com, become a part of the community, and truly bring Girl Talk to a new dimension.
