Dangerous work with youth at risk from Moldova

On March 1 Altruism Association started a Mentoring project for youth from poor families, who are on risk category. This project runs under the Association's Personal Development Center Program. The goal of this program is to help these vulnerable group to develop healthy life skills.

Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Eastern Europe, which was part of former USSR.

The context of young people from families at risk is affected by street gangs life stile, where the crule life rules run. In this context there is a lot of peer pressure, and as a result, many ilegal and violent activities take place. Some of them are stealing, phisical, emotional and sexual violence, even killing.

The main poject activities are run on a weekly meetings as a club gatherings for Life skills seminars, as well as personal councelling sessions. The future plans include Summer School activities, camps, recreation activities, as well as participation at Altruism Association's "Altruism in action" program, where these young people will learn to serve others just for feeling good about themselves doing it.

We are welcome any people to join us in this project, which right now is based on a volunteer work of people, who care for those, whom with is not easy and even dangerous to make contacts and have impact upon. Partners and funds and/or fundraisers for the project are welcome.

SolarWinds Announces Availability of Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 2.0

SolarWinds Announces Availability of Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 2.0

New version includes improved performance and scalability of 10 to 100 times over previous version.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 10, 2007

SolarWinds, a leader in network management software, today announced the availability of Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer version 2.0 (NetFlow Traffic Analyzer), a module in the Orion Network Management Platform (Orion). The latest version is available for immediate evaluation on their website at www. solarwinds. com.

Network engineers typically have very limited visibility into who is using network bandwidth and how they are using it. Without knowing which applications and which users account for the most bandwidth usage, network engineers cannot easily diagnose network problems or properly match network capacity to business needs.

NetFlow Traffic Analyzer version 2.0 provides a new level of visibility into network traffic behavior and trends. By leveraging Cisco's NetFlow protocol to extract data from routers, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer provides an in-depth view into which users and applications are consuming the most bandwidth.

"Customers are pleased with the price performance of NetFlow Traffic Analyzer," said Denny LeCompte, product manager at SolarWinds. "In addition, the combination of the NetFlow analysis product with Orion Network Performance Monitor provides network engineers with an integrated view of network traffic with availability and configuration information in a package that's easily deployed."

This new version also provides network engineers with vital information to more quickly detect, diagnose, predict and resolve network slowdowns and outages. Key enhancements include:
Enhanced Historical Data Storage and Analysis -- Previously, only a limited set of historical data could be kept due to database size limitations. Version 2.0 improves database storage efficiency by more than 100 times. Increased Performance -- More than 10 times the number of interfaces can be monitored with version 2.0, or 10 times the amount of data can be collected. Full Reporting Capabilities -- Orion-style reports can now be run and scheduled with Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer version 2.0. Historical NetFlow Forensics -- Analysis of network traffic is much easier by enabling insight into specific periods of time. This is extremely important when diagnosing "what happened?" during a given time period, enabling a forensic analysis of the NetFlow data. Availability and Pricing

Orion Netflow Traffic Analyzer is immediately available for download at www. solarwinds. com. Pricing starts at $1,795 for 100 interfaces with maintenance. For more information please visit www. solarwinds. com or contact the SolarWinds sales department at 866-530-8100.

Vermont Launches Renewable Energy Atlas

Vermont Launches Renewable Energy Atlas

The Renewable Energy Atlas of Vermont, a state-of-the-art GIS-based web application that identifies, analyzes, and visualizes existing and promising locations for renewable energy projects. The Atlas is the first tool of its kind in the United States to enable users to choose their town or county and then select from a suite of renewable energy options including biomass, efficiency, geothermal, hydroelectric, solar and wind.

Montpelier, VT (PRWEB) April 21, 2010

The Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (http://www. vsjf. org/resources/renewable-energy-atlas) (VSJF), in conjunction with the Vermont Center for Geographic Information (http://www. vcgi. org/) and Fountains Spatial, Inc (http://www. fountainsspatial. com/)., announced the launch of The Renewable Energy Atlas of Vermont (http://www. vtenergyatlas. com/), a state-of-the-art GIS-based web application that identifies, analyzes, and visualizes existing and promising locations for renewable energy projects.

The Atlas is the first tool of its kind in the United States to enable users to choose their town or county and then select from a suite of renewable energy options including biomass, efficiency, geothermal, hydroelectric, solar and wind. With a click of the mouse, users can map their selection. Existing and potential renewable energy sites, renewable energy installers and consultants will appear on the map, and an analysis panel will summarize the results. The simple to use web application can be accessed anywhere and users can save their maps and analyses as unique URLs or export them to a PDF document.

“The Atlas will assist town energy committees, the Clean Energy Development Fund (http://publicservice. vermont. gov/energy/ee_cleanenergyfund. html) and other funders, educators, planners, policy-makers and businesses in making informed decisions about the planning and implementation of renewable energy in their communities,” said Ellen Kahler, executive director of the VSJF. “Especially with the forthcoming decommissioning of Vermont Yankee, we believe the Atlas will contribute to identifying how much and where efficiency and renewable energy projects can be sited in Vermont.”

U. S. Senator Patrick Leahy secured U. S. Department of Energy funding for the Atlas project.

“Vermont has always stood for best practices in commercial and residential development to preserve the environment,” Leahy said. “The Renewable Energy Atlas of Vermont will be an important tool in helping us all to consider the responsible energy options when thinking about our renewable energy future. Successful projects mean greater energy security, a cleaner and healthier environment, and a better quality of life across our state.”

According to Atlas project director Scott Sawyer, “with the proliferation of energy committees in over 90 towns and cities, it’s clear that Vermonters want a renewable energy and efficiency based economy. We designed the Atlas with these town energy committees and many other potential users in mind.” Sawyer went on to say that, “We believe it’s important to make renewable energy data accessible to everyone, so that businesses, utilities, state agencies and organizations charged with building the state’s future can make informed renewable energy project decisions.”

Project developers also said that additional updates will be made to the Atlas over the coming year, including updates to the woody biomass and wind data layers. The Atlas joins Vermont’s growing renewable energy development toolkit, including the Clean Energy Development Fund, the state’s new feed-in tariff program, “clean energy assessment districts,” and Vermont’s 25 by ’25 Initiative.

Major funding for this project was received from the U. S. Department of Energy through U. S. Senator Patrick Leahy, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, the Vermont Clean Energy Development Fund and the Vermont Community Foundation. The Atlas was developed by the VSJF, in collaboration with the Vermont Center for Geographic Information, Fountains Spatial and Overit Media.

About the VSJF:
The Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund was created by the Vermont Legislature in 1995 to accelerate the development of Vermont’s green economy through early stage grant funding (http://www. vsjf. org/what-we-do/grants) and technical assistance (http://www. vsjf. org/what-we-do/peer-to-peer) to entrepreneurs, businesses, farmers, networks and others interested in developing jobs and markets in the green economy.

The VSJF typically focuses on two or three of the market sectors identified by the legislature at any one time. Our current focus is on increasing the local production and local use of biofuels, and sustainable forest products and in strengthening Vermont’s food system.

The products and services we support drive the green economy by:
Striving to dramatically reduce the use of fossil fuels,  Relocalizing production (including food production, manufacturing, and the sustainable use of local resources), and  Building economic and community resilience against challenges such as peak oil and climate change.

Caring for 3-5 Million Americans with Lymphedema

Caring for 3-5 Million Americans with Lymphedema

Chronic swelling from lymphedema affects 3-5 million Americans--including 20-40% of cancer survivors. Most people with lymphedema need assistance with home care to control their swelling and minimize their risk of infection and other serious complications. Lymphedema Caregiver's Guide is the first book specifically for family and professionals who provide or arrange daily lymphedema care.

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) March 6, 2009

Lymph Notes has released an important new book that fills a longstanding gap in the health care market. Lymphedema Caregiver's Guide is the first book specifically for family, friends, and professionals who provide or arrange lymphedema home care. Written by an experienced lymphedema therapist, together with a clinical psychologist and a professional medical writer, Caregiver's Guide covers all aspects of lymphedema home care including emotional support.

In her Foreword, Dr. Paula Stewart argues that "Failure of treatment is often due to a lack of supportive care in the home. Patients are unable to provide self-care, which is the key aspect of lymphedema management. This book clearly argues the need for competent caregivers and sets about to bridge the gap in lymphedema home care."

Library Journal (1/15/2009) in a starred review called this book "an amazing one-stop compendium of all the information one would need to be an effective, compassionate, and healthy caregiver to someone with lymphedema."

In NLN Lymph Link (Jan 2009), Bonnie Lasinski, MA, PT, CI, CLT-LANA, called this a book "a welcome reference that will compliment the self-care and home management program developed for individual patients by their lymphedema practitioner."

Swelling from lymphedema may affect one or both arms, legs, or other body parts. Lymphedema is a chronic condition that can be disfiguring, painful, disabling and potentially life threatening, especially without proper care. Secondary lymphedema results when the lymph flow is impaired by cancer treatment (breast cancer, melanoma, reproductive cancers, etc.), surgery, radiation, burns, obesity, circulatory disorders, or other trauma. Primary lymphedema results from developmental errors in the lymphatic system that may be apparent at birth or appear at any age.

Home care for lymphedema involves skin and nail care to minimize infection risk, simple lymph drainage or self massage, compression techniques to control swelling, special exercises to stimulate lymph flow, risk reduction, and emotional support. This book also covers arranging and paying for care, caring for the caregiver, activities of daily living, and much more. The book website (www. Lymphedema-Caregiver. com) has downloadable forms and other tools and information for caregivers and care arrangers.

About the Authors

Mary Kathleen Kearse, PT, CLT-LANA, has worked full time with lymphedema patients for eight years and practiced physical therapy for 24 years. She is an active lymphedema educator at local, regional, and international professional meetings.

Elizabeth McMahon, PhD is a clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience, co-author of Living Well with Lymphedema, author of Overcoming the Emotional Challenges of Lymphedema, and co-editor of Voices of Lymphedema.

Graduates from MediSend Biomedical Repair Training Program return to Angola, Nigeria and Equitorial Guinea to work in hospitals and clinics.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 17, 2007

Seven students from Africa are preparing to return home from Dallas to improve healthcare conditions in their communities in Angola, Nigeria, and Equatorial Guinea. As graduates of the MediSend Biomedical Repair Training Program, the students will be working in clinics and hospitals in their countries where medical diagnostic and treatment equipment are in desperate need of repair and maintenance, but where repair technicians do not currently exist. Saturday, October 20th at 11 a. m., the students will receive their diplomas from the program sponsored by the ExxonMobil Foundation as part of ExxonMobil's Africa Health Initiative.

In 2006 MediSend opened a state-of-the-art biomedical repair laboratory at MediSend headquarters located in the Elisabeth Dahan Humanitarian Center in Dallas, Texas. The center is named for Elisabeth Dahan, wife of retired ExxonMobil Executive Rene Dahan. The couple donated the funds to make the purchase of MediSend's facility at 9244 Markville Drive possible. At the dedication of the building in October 2006, MediSend promised the Dahans a training facility where students from developing countries would learn the skills to repair life-saving biomedical diagnostic and treatment equipment. One year later, the MediSend Biomedical Equipment Repair Program is graduating the first group of students to return to their home countries with skills that will make those life-saving differences.

The graduation ceremonies will take place at MediSend International with one hundred invited guests including Mr. and Mrs. Gerald McElvy, President of the ExxonMobil Foundation, Mary Jo Myers (wife of the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Richard Myers) and NASA Astronaut James F. Nitric oxide (NO) can generate free radicals as well as scavenge them. It also functions as a signaling molecule and has an important role in the pathogenesis of several diseases. A major focus is delivery of NO by various technologies. Another approach is modulation of nitric oxide synthase (NOS), which converts L-arginine to NO. NOS can be stimulated as well as inhibited by pharmacological and gene therapy approaches.

Important therapeutic areas for NO-based therapies are inflammatory disorders, cardiovascular diseases, erectile dysfunction, inflammation, pain and neuroprotection. The first therapeutic use of NO was by inhaltion for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). NO-donors, NO-mimics and NOS modulators are described and compared along with developmental status. NO-related mechanisms of action in existing drugs are identified.

Various pharmacological approaches are described along with their therapeutic relevance. Various approaches are compared using SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. NO-based therapies are compared with conventional approaches and opportunities for combination with modern biotechnology approaches are described. The text is supplemented with 25 tables and 19 figures.

The number of companies that have a product or products involving NO and free radicals is quite large and difficult to determine precisely as this is not the main focus of these companies. The report includes profiles of 38 companies involved in this area of which 9 are exclusively devoted to NO-based therapeutics. Other players are pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as well as suppliers of products for NO research. Unfulfilled needs in the development of NO-based therapeutics are identified. Important collaborations in this area are tabulated.

There are over 80,000 publications relevant to NO. Selected 400 references are included in bibliography. It is concluded that the future prospects for NO-based therapies are bright and fit in with biotechnology-based approaches to modern drug discovery and development. It is anticipated that some of these products will help in meeting the unfulfilled needs in human therapeutics.

Red Bush Tea is rich in minerals and contain valuable anti-oxidants

Red Bush Tea is rich in minerals and contain valuable anti-oxidants

Red Bush Tea is rich in minerals and contain valuable anti-oxidants; contribute substantially to a reduction in heart disease and other ailments associated with aging.

(PRWEB) October 13, 2002

Redbush Tea or Rooibos Tea as it is commonly known in South Africa, is grown free from chemicals in an environmentally conscious way that does not place human health at risk. It uses renewable resources, protects plant and wild life, replenishes soil fertility and productivity, and minimizes damage to the environment.

Cultivation under an organic system is complicated and rigidly controlled by international certification bodies who carry out regular inspections of the plantations, the soil, the processing plants, any vehicles used and any other equipment involved in the production of the tea. Besides the fact that it is organically grown, harvested and packed, it has great medicinal qualities which are already well known in overseas markets.

Since ancient times, this plant has been valued for its medicinal uses by the indigenous San people. With no harmful stimulants, absolutely no caffeine the tea will leave you feeling calm and rested too. Due to its soothing effect, it is believed to help with insomnia, irritability, headaches, mild depression and nervous tension. It also offers significant anti-spasmodic relief, alleviating stomach cramps and constipation as well colic in infants. Because it's caffeine-free, it is suitable for pregnant women and nursing mothers. This wonderful tea is even used to treat skin conditions such as eczema and nappy rash, and to reduce allergies like hay fever and asthma!

The health properties of Rooibos tea are ascribed mainly to the low tannin content, the high levels of minerals and the free-radicals capturing properties of some unique flavonoids of which the C-glucoside dihydrochalcones aspalathin and nothofagin are the most important.

This uniquely South African (Cape) herbal drink is mainly used as a tea substitute and health drink, because it contains no harmful substances such as caffeine. It has also been used since early times for its direct positive effects on the urinary system and is valued as a stomachic that aids weak digestion without affecting the heart. Apart from the absence of stimulants, it is likely that some beneficial effects may be linked to the capturing properties of phenolic compounds.

The tea is an uplifting way of starting the day and it's equally perfect for unwinding at night.

2007 EPPIE and QUASAR Finalists Announced

2007 EPPIE and QUASAR Finalists Announced

Growing every year, EPIC's EPPIE and QUASAR stand out as the longest-standing and most inclusive e-book awards in existence. Back for its 8th year, the award is changing with the times and adapting to publishing trends.

Virginia Beach, VA (PRWEB) January 10, 2007

EPIC, The Electronically Published Internet Connection, is proud to announce the finalists for the 8th annual EPPIE Awards and its cover art component, the QUASAR. Culled down from 611 entries in 23 book categories and 186 entries in 8 cover art categories, this has been EPIC's biggest year yet for the awards.

"Despite the jump in entries, we think we've accommodated the e-publishing world pretty well," states Carol MacLeod, 2007 EPPIEs Chair. "With a larger contest comes the usual problems like getting enough judges. But that comes with the territory."

The problems didn't seem to deter MacLeod, as she forged on to get her job done. "The committee this year has gone above and beyond anything I've ever seen. We all stepped in and did double and triple duty in some cases. We also had many discussions on where we see this contest going and how to get things done in a more efficient manner in future years, like getting more judges."

"The contest changes every year, becoming more streamlined and inclusive" Brenna Lyons, EPIC president inserts. "When we see a way to simplify, we take it. When we see a need for new categories, we look into how feasible it would be to add them."

Adds, MacLeod, "We've started using new and innovative techniques to get the e-books to everyone. Well, I should say new to us, as they've been used by computer groups for years. In past years we emailed each individual book. But not so this year." MacLeod goes on to explain that each e-Book was uploaded to a secure server and then links were provided to judges to download files at their leisure. While she freely admits that took a lot of time, the benefits outweighed the effort, both in convenience and protection for the entered books. "It was so easy this year. True, sometimes the links had to be fixed, but overall the operation ran the smoothest I've ever seen in a contest this large and I've run a lot of them."

The winners are to be announced at the EPPIE banquet at EPICon, March 10, 2007 in Virginia Beach, VA. Grinning, MacLeod admits that getting the books entered and the EPPIE judging done is only half the work of the contest. The rest will start somewhere around March 8th, when the convention opens for business.

Lyons finishes by applauding both the EPPIE committee and the finalists in the contests. "With a target of 10% finalists, these really are the cream of the crop entered this year. The competition is fierce every year, but this year saw an incredibly good field of entrants."

I Pastorious Juevenous... Help I'm a Pastor's Kid

I Pastorious Juevenous... Help I'm a Pastor's Kid

A look at the life of one man who came through abuse and self-destructive behavior to find hope, health, and success.

Delavan, WI (PRWEB) December 8, 2005

The writer accounts his life growing up in a solid christian home. Trying to deal with abuse from a family friend, the writer shares how he tried to hide his pain through food. As the pain increased, so did the self-destructive behavior.

In a battle with porn addiction and obesity, he faces almost loosing his wife and finally wakes up to his siutation to find hope. Through his faith in Jesus Christ and the support of his family and friends the writer accounts how he has grown stronger. He does not try and present a cure-all instant solution to addiction or abuse, instead he offers confort to the hurting.

"My battle is not something unique, there are many men and women who are battling with both obesity and porn addiction. This is one of the most destructive addictions out there and yet it is the least talked about. I've heard people say it is the hidden addiction because it is often classed as a victimless crime. Sadley the victims are not only the addict but his family and friends. I hope that people will open their eyes to the real crime here and seek out healing."

The writer has chosen to keep his identity hidden to protect those people involved in the events of this book. Each of these people are still suffering the pain of this addiction.

The main message in this book is that healing is possible, no matter how far you may have gone or fallen. It takes only calling out for help.

"I asked once, 'what would you define as insanity?' I don't know, what would you call insanity. 'Insanity is continuing to do the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result each time.' This truth is the message in my story. I continued to do the same thing and believed that I could get a different result. It wasn't until I realized that I was functioning in insanity that I opened my eyes and sought out help. I hope that others will do the same thing."

ISEEK™ Medical Wins Don Walker Award at 2010 Health Informatics Conference

ISEEK™ Medical Wins Don Walker Award at 2010 Health Informatics Conference

ISEEK™ Medical places first in the “Access” category due to its natural language intelligence and strides in the health informatics industry.

Melbourne, Australia and Ewing, NJ (Vocus) September 2, 2010

At the 18th annual Health Informatics Conference (http://medical. iseek. com/iseek/home. page) (HIC) in Australia, the theme was “Informing the Business of Healthcare.” HIC has always, and continues to be, an important catalyst and forum for the development of e-health in Australia. This year, iSEEK™ Medical took home the coveted Don Walker Award. Presented for “exceptional contribution to improving health outcomes through innovation in health informatics,” the award had many outstanding applicants, but iSEEK™ Medical stood out for their progress in the field.

The award is named after Dr. Don Walker, who has blazed a trail for the application of computers into Australian health care. Dr. Walker has made major contributions to Australian health informatics through his persistence and commitment to the field. This award honors a company following in his footsteps. iSEEK™ Medical’s ability to access patient information and optimize medical search (http://medical. iseek. com/iseek/home. page) at the point of care proved to be the dominant factor in its taking home this prestigious award.

"We are honored to receive such a prestigious award,” said Paul Edelblut, Vice President of iSEEK™. This recognition goes a long way in validating our research and development. In addition to physicians utilizing our platform, medical students and practitioners looking to earn CME credits also use iSEEK™ as the authoritative resource to achieve their goals. We have been working with the University of Pennsylvania’s Medical School, its Office of CME and its Best Practices CPD sites for a number of years and know they are thrilled as well with this validation."

ISEEK™ Medical has been helping to revolutionize the way clinicians search and find high-quality, evidence-based, clinically relevant resources. The natural language intelligence in iSEEK™ helps the engine understand the meaning embedded in the questions you ask. While other search engines merely return any documents that match keywords, iSEEK™ Medical uses advanced linguistic, conceptual and AI technologies to target the most relevant, useful and meaningful results every time.

"As physicians struggle with the conflict between the mandate to bring evidence-based medicine to the point of care and providing more services to more patients, iSEEK™ Medical provides that necessary bridge to improve the quality of patient care. Through this tool, physicians now have fast and easy access to make informed decisions based on information that has been scientifically validated through research,” Edelblut continued.

For more information about iSEEK Medical, go to http://medical. iseek. com (http://medical. iseek. com).

About iSEEK™ Medical (http://medical. iseek. com/iseek/home. page)
Revolutionizing the way clinicians search, iSEEK™ Medical turns the burdensome task of finding high-quality, evidence-based, and clinically relevant resources into a uniquely effective experience. The natural language intelligence in iSEEK™ allows the engine to understand the meaning embedded in the questions you ask, using advanced linguistic, conceptual and AI technologies to target the most relevant, useful and meaningful results every time.

The recent expansion of iSEEK™ into mobile services allows doctors to now access the same dynamic search and top-quality resources from the places they need them most—in the field, on the go and at the point of care.

S. R. Ware Associates Internet Survey Reveals Pharmaceutical Specialty Representatives Need Training

Pilot study reveals pharmaceutical specialty representatives lack training on HIV-1 drug resistance tests despite Department of Health and Human Services guidelines recommending therapy changes based on the results of resistance tests.

S. R. Ware Associates Internet Survey Reveals Pharmaceutical Specialty Representatives Need Training

Pilot study reveals pharmaceutical specialty representatives lack training on HIV-1 drug resistance tests despite Department of Health and Human Services guidelines recommending therapy changes based on the results of resistance tests.

DOWNINGTOWN, PA – March 15, 2002 – Pharmaceutical HIV specialty representatives need training on HIV-1 drug resistance tests (RT) and other subjects according to a just-released Internet survey by S. R. Ware Associates, Inc. Selected specialty representatives were asked 16 questions about how new HIV management techniques, like HIV-1 drug resistance tests, are incorporated into the sales process.

Despite the fact that using resistance tests has been recommended by various panels (the International AIDS Society – USA, the Panel on Clinical Practices for Treatment of HIV Infection by US Department of Health and Human Services) in situations of first HIV drug failure, only 17% of responders answered that RT should be recommended for this indication.

Studies have demonstrated that RT probably would provide more benefits in clinical outcomes and in preserving future therapeutic options; however, 69% of responders said that RT was being used to manage salvage therapy only.

Almost half (49%) of responders said that RT does not influence the selection of HIV therapy when multiple studies have shown that RT is a very important tool in selecting HIV therapy after drug failure.

“We were surprised that specialty representatives calling on internal medicine and infectious disease physicians did not know more about the impact of HIV drug resistance on the treatment of HIV,” said Steve Ware, president of S. R. Ware Associates. “We thought leading edge pharmaceutical companies would have their representative staff completely up-to-date on the management of HIV.”

SRWA conducted a similar study on physicians, but the results are not ready for publication. Surveys are still being received from physicians and representatives, but the trend points to the same thing: there is a disconnect between what the representatives and physicians think happens during the sales call.

“Representatives are disconnected from the reality of the sales call,” said Ron Sheeley, principal consultant at SRWA. “What physicians think happen during the sales process is entirely different than what the representatives think happens. Representatives who rely on a “Tell-Tell-Close” method of features and benefits detailing miss a prime opportunity to provide the physician with valuable information about their products.”

The pilot study by SRWA points out the need for a broader study researching the interaction between representatives and physicians. The corporate web page is at http://www. srwa. net (http://www. srwa. net). A white paper abstract, “Analysis of HIV Specialty Representative’s use of HIV-1 Drug Resistance Tests (RT) as a Sales Aid,” is available at http://www. srwa. net/research/research. html (http://www. srwa. net/research/research. html).

“Within the FDA regulated framework of the sales call, we think specialty representative training on HIV-1 drug resistance tests and other subjects would provide useful information to the physician,” said Steve Ware, “without taking time away from the primary reason the representative is in the physician’s office.”

Schipul - The Web Marketing Company Announces Director of Search Engine Marketing

Schipul - The Web Marketing Company Announces Director of Search Engine Marketing

Increased competition requires full time strategy development.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 12, 2004

Schipul – The Web Marketing Company has promoted Lauren Hall to Director of Search Engine Marketing. Hall is responsible for overseeing all search engine marketing strategy (SEM) development (http://www. schipul. com/website_design/search_engine_optimization. asp) and placements in the major search engines for Schipul and the company’s clients.

In its sixth year, Schipul – The Web Marketing Company combines SEM, direct marketing fundamentals (http://www. schipul. com/en/art/?1) and relationship marketing software to deliver the optimal plan that contributes to a client’s success online.

Schipul's SEM (http://www. schipul. com) is focused on aligning an organizationÂ’s Web site and advertising investment with the way prospects use the Web to gather information and make buying decisions. The process depends primarily on two types of search engine rankings:

“Non-sponsored” listings, determined by a search engine’s own algorithms, and “sponsored” listings, which are determined by how much someone is willing to bid per keyword for a particular ranking.

“For a Web site to remain competitive online, those searching for specific products or services must easily be able to locate a site in the major search engines, such as Google, Yahoo! and MSN,” Hall said. “If utilized properly and ethically, search engine marketing can help clients realize the Web’s full business-building potential.”

Hall graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 with an MIS degree. Prior to joining Schipul, Hall served in Houston as web development programmer for Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc. and as merger and acquisition research specialist for VerticalNet, Inc.

“Many advertising agencies have been slow to recognize that search engines deserve the same consideration that is afforded traditional broadcast and print media,” said Ed Schipul, founder and CEO of Schipul – The Web Marketing Company. “A good argument can be made that search engines deserve greater consideration for advertising dollars because they reach people who actually want the information.”
