Clearly Contacts Expands Healthy Balance Initiative For Employees

Clearly Contacts, the world's largest online optical store, is pleased to announce the expansion of their Healthy Balance Program for the 140 employees in their Vancouver based offices. The program will enhance the positive workplace environment that Clearly Contacts works hard at maintaining, and benefit employees in a very positive way.

Vancouver, BC (Vocus) June 9, 2009

Clearly Contacts (http://www. clearlycontacts. ca/), the world's largest online optical store, is pleased to announce the expansion of their Healthy Balance Program for the 140 employees in their Vancouver based offices. The program will enhance the positive workplace environment that Clearly Contacts works hard at maintaining, and benefit employees in a very positive way.

"Health is so important, and it is easy to ignore your health when you are working in a fast paced, growing company. We want to ensure that our employees are taking care of themselves, and want to help them in anyway we can." stated Edith Crespin, Human Resources Generalist for Clearly Contacts.

The program focuses on 3 main areas of well being: physical, mental and emotional, and is aimed at helping to reduce stress level and increase general health. A wide selection of healthy lunches have been added to the employee lunch room and are available to all employees for a nominal fee, the balance of which is subsidized by Clearly Contacts (http://www. clearlycontacts. ca/). In this way the Company hopes that each and every employee who takes advantage of this aspect of the program will be eating a healthy, balanced meal while at work.

"We are encouraging the ongoing health of our employees and feel it adds to the overall work experience." adds Crespin. "We feel that our employees are like our family here at Clearly Contacts and to that end we want all of them feeling good, having positive attitudes and working at peak potential throughout the day."

In addition to the healthy lunch program, the company has instituted fully funded sports and exercise activities again for all employees, as well as subsidized gym memberships, intramural lunch-time teams, and nutritional lunch and learns, as a few of the healthy balance initiatives.

"We feel that exercise is one of the essential elements to maintaining good health and positive work habits for our employees. Too often we tend to sit at our desks while we work and by the end of the day we're simply too tired to properly exercise." says Crespin.

A healthy diet and exercise are certainly key elements for a positive outlook on life as well as a more compassionate attitude. Clearly Contacts (http://www. clearlycontacts. ca/) has found that allowing employees to engage in healthy activities during the day has also reduced the amount of sick days taken by employees over the past two years.

"We feel that if our employees are happy and healthy, they will be more productive, and more engaged with customers. We have a great team and we want to make sure we treat them the way we expect them to treat our customers." says Crespin.

Nansulate® Greentech Coatings by Industrial Nanotech, Inc. Incorporated into New Medical Equipment Specifications by Edward Moore Design

Nansulate® Greentech Coatings by Industrial Nanotech, Inc. Incorporated into New Medical Equipment Specifications by Edward Moore Design

Industrial Nanotech, Inc., an emerging global leader in nanotechnology, today announced that the the Company's patented Nansulate® GP thermal insulation and mold resistant coating has successfully completed trials and is now being incorporated into the specifications for a new medical equipment system by Edward Moore Designs. The deal was finalized by the Company's Independent Sales Agent, Chad Smith, who represents the Company's products in Quebec, Canada.

Naples, Fla. (PRWEB) August 20, 2008

Industrial Nanotech, Inc. (Pink Sheets:INTK), an emerging global leader in nanotechnology, today announced that the the Company's patented Nansulate® GP thermal insulation and mold resistant coating has successfully completed trials and is now being incorporated into the specifications for a new medical equipment system by Edward Moore Designs. The deal was finalized by the Company's Independent Sales Agent, Chad Smith, who represents the Company's products in Quebec, Canada.

Edward Moore Design Inc, a Canadian Government recognized research and development laboratory since 1985, has completed development of a cooling and heating system which will be utilized in the design of three unique medical devices. The first device is an air conditioned / heated massaging mattress cover, which can be used for bedridden patients to control the temperature of the mattress, providing comfort and preventing additional health issues common to medical patients confined to bed for extended periods of time by sickness or age. It is scheduled for clinical testing in November and offshoots of this successful technology are now destined for the general consumer market.

Edward Moore, President of Edward Moore Design Inc., described the projects, "Nansulate has been specified into the main cooling and heating system for this design. Nansulate added to the mattress cover system was found to reduce cooling temperature at a rate of 1.8 degrees per minute, as compared to the foam insulation alone which reduced temperature at a rate of 1.1 degrees per minute. All tests were performed under identical conditions cooling one gallon of fluid. By speeding up the cooling process, substantial energy savings were achieved. In addition, Nansulate prevented sweating during the cooling process and also prevents growth of unwanted substances on the surface of the system."

Mr. Moore continued, "The same carefully researched cooling and heating system specifying NANSULATE will be incorporated into a new machine to form x-ray invisible casts with perfectly even pressure over the entire area of a broken limb. The casts can be worn while swimming or bathing and re-formed again with perfectly even pressure when swelling reduces. Due to Nansulate, the time to form a perfectly even pressure cast will be approximately three minutes. Additionally, Nansulate is being specified in the heating and cooling system for a unique, portable machine to heat and/or cool, with adjustable massage, any area of the body for sports medicine and general physiotherapy needs. This machine will free up the doctor or technician to perform other tasks. The portability of the battery operated machine is due in large part to the energy savings realized with Nansulate insulating coatings."

Francesca Crolley, V. P. Operations for Industrial Nanotech, Inc., stated, "The incorporation of our Nansulate coating into these medical devices represents a brand new market segment opportunity. Edward Moore Design is an expert in their field and we look forward to our technology offering unique benefits to their company for this medical equipment and other designs. Energy savings is something that is important to every industry and we are pleased to offer a solution that can be used in a variety of diverse applications."

Broward County Schools, 6th Largest in Nation, Provides Spoga4Kids Workout Program for 17,000 3rd Graders to Improve Student Health

Broward County Schools, 6th Largest in Nation, Provides Spoga4Kids Workout Program for 17,000 3rd Graders to Improve Student Health

To improve the health and success of their students, reduce stress, fight childhood diabetes and obesity, and respond to a national fitness initiative, the Broward County Schools in Florida, the sixth largest school district in the United States, has developed an exciting new in-classroom fitness program. Beginning in January, they have added the new Spoga®4Kids™ workout program in video and DVD format to over 17,000 third graders. Spoga4Kids is a series of five 15-minute 'workouts' featuring playful energetic moves that stimulate the brain, activate the heart, and put a smile on the children’s faces.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) January 9, 2006

To improve the health and success of their students, reduce stress, fight childhood diabetes and obesity, and respond to a national fitness initiative, the Broward County Schools in Florida, the sixth largest school district in the United States, has developed an exciting new in-classroom fitness program. Beginning in January, they have added the new Spoga®4Kids™ workout program in video and DVD format to over 17,000 third graders.

Spoga4Kids is a series of five 15-minute 'workouts' featuring playful energetic moves that stimulate the brain, activate the heart, and put a smile on the children’s faces. Spoga4Kids offers a healthy fitness break for children in the classroom. It improves breathing and posture, provides gentle aerobics, relaxation, flexibility via gentle yoga-like moves, and muscle strengthening exercises. Spoga4Kids also increases the children’s mental alertness for learning and testing, and improves their health in an era when physical fitness classes have been reduced in many schools to just once a week. The initial January, 2006 launch of Spoga4Kids in the Broward County School system is in conjunction with their Commit 2B Fit program that was introduced at the beginning of the school year to all of their 3rd grade students.

The Commit 2B Fit public service campaign is an educational, grassroots youth fitness and nutrition program that promotes healthy eating and physical activity to both parents and children. Commit 2B Fit is a partnership between the School Board of Broward County (“SBBC”) and the Beasley Broadcasting Group, which is the parent company of radio stations WKIS-FM, WPOW-FM and WQAM, in Miami, Florida. Major sponsors include Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Vista Healthplans, CSC of Broward, Florida Department of Citrus and Publix Supermarkets.

The American Heart Association has identified childhood obesity as their #1 issue in 2006. The American Diabetes Association is also focusing on children's fitness and childhood obesity and the alarming increase in the adult onset of Type II diabetes in kids. Children's fitness, stress levels, and overweight issues are a national epidemic. Spoga4Kids is a new Recess Solution™ that helps teachers find, in-classroom solutions to the fitness challenge that is being implemented nationally.

According to Elly Zanin, Curriculum Specialist, Physical Education, The School Board of Broward County, “Spoga®4Kids™ will serve two needs. After lunch, kids often need to be calmed down and Spoga4Kids will bring them back to focus academically. In the mid-afternoon, kids are mentally bogged down and Spoga4Kids will reenergize them so they will continue to be more on task academically longer in the day."

Valerie George, Ph. D., Research Associate Professor, Department of Dietetics and Nutrition, Robert Stempel School of Public Health, Florida International University in Miami focusing on Obesity Prevention through the promotion of physical activity states, “Spoga®4Kids™ will enable children to learn new skills to help with balance, physical activity, as well as stress reduction through breathing. This may even help kids learn to relax before taking exams. If Spoga4Kids has a positive impact, we can try it in the middle and high schools, too. I'm for anything that gets kids more physically active!"

Spoga4Kids was created by Melinda Lee, founder of Spoga® International, creator and executive producer of the Spoga® & Simply Spoga® DVDs. A Fitness and Wellness coach, she is the Vice President/Community Liaison of the BankAtlantic Foundation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Editor-at-Large of Balance Magazine, a free-lance writer and professional speaker. She has an RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) designation and has earned a BS in Marketing from Miami University.

Roy O. Martin Lumber Company, Selects PLEXIS Healthcare Systems' Claims Manager to Bring Its Claims Processing In-house

Roy O. Martin Lumber Company, Selects PLEXIS Healthcare Systems' Claims Manager to Bring Its Claims Processing In-house

Roy O. Martin had been using a TPA, but their company decided they could handle their claims in a more timely manner and be more responsive to their employees if they handled the claims processing themselves.

Ashland, OR (PRWEB) August 18, 2003

PLEXIS PLEXIS Healthcare Systems, Inc. announced today that Roy O. Martin Lumber Company, headquartered in Alexandria, LA, has purchased its core claims processing software, PLEXIS Claims Manager. The PLEXIS' suite of products offers payers, benefit administrators and health plans the functionality to facilitate accurate and automatic claims adjudication, referral authorizations, benefit administration, and contract management, while meeting all present HIPAA compliance requirements.

"We are self-insured and we wanted to bring our claims processing in-house," said Ray Peters, Vice President of Human Resources at Roy O. Martin Lumber Company, "We had been using a TPA, but our company decided that we could handle our claims in a more timely manner and be more responsive to our employees if we handled the claims processing ourselves. However, we have a small staff dedicated to this function, so we needed a system that was efficient, totally automated and easy to use. We chose the PLEXIS Claims Manager because it met all of our requirements," Mr. Peters continued.

Roy O. Martin (ROM) Lumber Company is one of the largest lumber companies in the Southern US. The company owns and professionally manages almost 600,000 acres of timberland spreading across 30 parishes in LA. Founded in 1923 as a family business, the company is dedicated to the forest products industry. It plants 10,000 to 12,000 acres of timberland per year (4-6 million trees) and currently employs almost 1,100 employees in its operations.

"PLEXIS is very pleased that a company with the long history that Roy O. Martin enjoys has selected our Claims Manager to enhance the claims processing for its employees. We are proud to be a part of the operation of this distinguished company," said Jorge Yant, President and Chief Executive Officer at PLEXIS Healthcare Systems, Inc.

About Roy O. Martin Lumber Company

The Roy O. Martin Lumber Company is the result of a vision set in motion generations ago. Beginning in 1923 with a six foot "groundhog" band saw and a serious commitment to provide customers with service and quality, the Roy O. Martin Lumber Company was on its way to becoming what is now one of the largest independently owned lumber companies in the South. Systematic research, planting, thinning and harvesting allows the company to rebuild the forests better and faster than before and gives

The satisfaction of putting back more into nature than was removed. Today, just as it was in 1923 with their first sawmill, the commitment to customer satisfaction and a quality product is at the core of every Roy O. Martin operation.

Prize to be Awarded for Best Photo of Crops Treated with Stoller Products

Did you have an exceptional crop this year? Were Stoller products part of your success? Then share your story with growers around the world on the 2011 Stoller calendar.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 6, 2010

StollerUSA customers have long claimed a visible and yield difference in their crops when Stoller's Plant Performance products—like Bio-Forge®—are used. Now Stoller is developing a poster calendar that will reflect just that.

StollerUSA is looking for amazing crop photos and Stoller success stories for entry in the 2011 StollerUSA calendar contest. Judges will select a total of 12 stories/photographs from the 2010 growing season to be published—one for each month. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $500 cash prize.

"The 2010 calendar has been generating excitement and we are now looking forward to farmers contributing to the 2011 calendar with their own photos," said Jeff Morgan, marketing director of StollerUSA. "Along with university research, farmer testimonials are the cornerstone of Stoller product data. It is exciting to hear about the results farmers are experiencing utilizing the Stoller technology."

The foundation of the Stoller technology is Bio-Forge®, a stress reducer in plants. Put to the test by hundreds of growers and over 50 universities, Bio-Forge, enhances the yield in a healthy crop and helps stressed crops overcome yield-limiting factors. It is proven to suppress the excess ethylene that hinders crop yield.

The return on investment from Bio-Forge more than offsets application costs. And real farmers who have applied Stoller products to their crop management programs have reaped the benefits by improving plant health, while adding to their bottom lines. These are the kind of results and stories that will comprise the next StollerUSA calendar.

To learn more, or to enter your Stoller success story, go to www. stollerusa. com/calendar (http://www. stollerusa. com/calendar).

StollerUSA is dedicated to helping producers enhance their crops by maximizing genetic expression. The results are in enhanced marketable yield, resistance to insects, nematodes, and disease, while maximizing the return on investment. Stoller products are proven to ensure optimum plant growth by maintaining appropriate hormone balance in combination with supporting nutrients, resulting in healthier, more productive crops that are better able to withstand stress and achieve their full genetic potential.

Passport to Fun Offers a Preview of Not-to-Be Missed Movies This Summer

Passport to Fun Offers a Preview of Not-to-Be Missed Movies This Summer

AP9 PassportToFun Provides Members Significant Savings on Family Needs and Entertainment for Hot Summer Afternoons and More.

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) June 23, 2008

One of the best ways to cool down during hot summer evenings is to go to the movies. Members of Passport to Fun (http://www. passporttofun-program. com/), a premier recreation and entertainment savings program offered by Adaptive Marketing (http://www. adaptivemarketing. com/ap9/passport-to-fun. asp) LLC, know that they can count on their money-saving benefits to get movie tickets for almost half the price.

The beginning of the summer came not only with sky-high temperatures, but also with the May 2 release (the official kick-off day for all summer movies) of "Iron Man," an action-packed film that has disappointed only a few demanding viewers. June has had its share of awaited releases, with titles like "Kung Fu Panda" (June 6), "The Incredible Hulk" (June 13), and the comedies "Get Smart" and "The Love Guru" (June 20), all flicks for different audiences.

As the heat rises with every day that goes by, so will the anticipation for movie lovers and summer blockbuster seekers. Here are some of the "cooler" entertainment choices for Americans this summer, listed here by AP9 PassportToFun (http://ap9consumergateway. typepad. com/ap9_weblog/2006/09/ap9_passport_to_1.html):

-- "Wanted" (June 27): Russian director Timur Bekmambetow took this comic book series to the big screen, and the wait for its followers is finally over. Angelina Jolie is Fox, a sexy assassin who recruits the apathetic Wesley Gibson into The Fraternity, a secret society that trains him to avenge his father's death by unlocking his dormant powers. Wes is played by Scottish star James McAvoy, and Morgan Freeman is Sloan, head of this skilled group of assassins.

-- "Hancock" (July 2): Since it's the only movie to open this July 4th weekend, the pressure is on. People expect nothing but the best for this special holiday. This year, Smith plays a superhero in trouble with the people he's in fact supposed to help. He's basically an irresponsible superhero, and the public is fed up with his attitude. A civic lesson and a closer look at the world of PR and press stunts are part of the story, also starring Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron.

-- "The Dark Knight" (July 18): Any Batman movie is always highly anticipated, but this one has everyone counting the days. The Joker, Batman's archenemy, is creepier and crazier than ever in Christopher Nolan's second take on the life of Gotham City's hero. Christian Bale continues to prove why he was chosen to play Bruce Wayne and Batman himself, while the late Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker is, according to many, a masterpiece. Maggie Gyllenhall, Aaron Eckhart and Michael Cane complete the cast of one of the best movies of the summer.

-- "Space Chimps" (July 18): Children also have movie choices to enjoy in theatres this summer. The season started with "Kung Fu Panda" and "Wall-E," and it continues with this quirky animated story of Ham, the grandson of the first chimp astronaut. Ham is sent to space in order to rid a far-away planet of its wicked leader. Luna and Titan are the other two primates in charge of this dangerous mission.

In addition to savings on movie tickets, consumers can also enjoy savings on gift cards for major national entertainment retailers, restaurant meals, books and video games, theme park visits and much more as members of Passport to Fun (http://travelandleisure. squaresapce. com).

About Passport to Fun:

Scott + Scott, LLC Announces First Complaint Filed for Securities Violations Against Goodyear -- Attorney Originally From Akron Leads Litigation Team: Goodyear is Next Accounting Fraud Class Action to Hit Market as it Restates Results From 1998-2003

Scott + Scott, LLC Announces First Complaint Filed for Securities Violations Against Goodyear -- Attorney Originally From Akron Leads Litigation Team: Goodyear is Next Accounting Fraud Class Action to Hit Market as it Restates Results From 1998-2003

At the request of shareholders, the law firm of Scott + Scott, LLC filed the first securities class action lawsuit against Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. Neil Rothstein, a shareholder of Scott + Scott, LLC, who was born and raised in Akron, stated that the suit was brought against Goodyear and various individual defendants for alleged accounting fraud dating back to 1998. Scott + Scott, LLC is currently leading litigation against ImClone, Northwestern CP, Halliburton, Qwest, Healthsouth and many others.

(PRWEB) October 27, 2003

Scott + Scott, LLC (scottlaw@scott-scott. com), a law firm with offices in Connecticut and California, announces that it has commenced a securities fraud class action against THE GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY, (NYSE:GT), SAMIR G. GIBARA, ROBERT W. TIEKEN, ROBERT J. KEEGAN, and STEPHANIE W. BERGERON.

The case has been brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio (Akron) on behalf of a class consisting of all persons (other than defendants) who purchased the securities of Goodyear between March 26, 1999, and October 22, 2003, inclusive (the "Class Period"), and who were damaged thereby. Plaintiff shareholder is seeking to pursue remedies under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the "Exchange Act"). Those who purchased after October 22, 1998 are welcome to contact the firm.

A copy of the complaint filed in this action on behalf of investors is available from the Court or can be obtained by calling Scott + Scott, LLC at 800/404-7770, e-mailing the firm at nrothstein@aol. com or drscott@scott-scott. com, or going to the firm's website (www. scott-scott. com) and clicking on " IN THE NEWS." Mr. Rothstein, formerly of Akron, Ohio may also be reached for any further information or inquiries. Please email him at nrothstein@aol. com with your phone number and he will return your call.

If you wish to serve as lead plaintiff and if you bought Goodyear publicly traded securities between March 26, 1999, and October 22, 2003, inclusive (those who purchased after October 22, 1998 are also welcome to contact the firm), and you wish to serve as lead plaintiff, you must move the Court no later than 60 days from October 23, 2003. A lead plaintiff is a representative party that acts on behalf of other class members in directing the litigation. Any member of the purported class may move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff through Scott + Scott, LLC or through counsel of its choice, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class member. In order to be appointed lead plaintiff, you must meet certain legal requirements. Please be aware that Scott + Scott, LLC has filed this lawsuit at the request of shareholders and in accordance with the applicable laws.

Goodyear is an Akron-based manufacturer of tires and rubber products, with worldwide operations. During the Class Period, Goodyear filed financial reports with the SEC, which purported to accurately reflect the Company's operating results and financial condition. Unbeknownst to class members, the financial information contained in the Company's SEC filings were the result of accounting improprieties. Specifically, as the Company admitted in a press release issued after the close of trading on October 22, 2003, Goodyear had overstated its net income and shareholders' equity by a total of approximately $100 million and $120 million, respectively. As a result, the Company has disclosed that it will restate its results "for the years 1998-2002 and for the first and second quarters of 2003." The Company attributes the overstatements to "the implementation of an enterprise resource planning accounting system (ERP) in 1999 and errors in inter-company billing systems." In addition, the Company will delay the release of detailed third quarter 2003 results, which were due to be released on October 23. Goodyear further announced that it was continuing its "ongoing process of strengthening its accounting procedures and is implementing further improvements to its system of internal controls."

Scott + Scott, LLC is engaged in the representation of funds, foundations, endowments, institutions, pension funds, individuals, and other entities throughout the world in securities, antitrust and other complex class and non - class action litigation. The firm is committed to client satisfaction and communication. The firm's attorneys litigate in both state and federal courts throughout the nation. The firm has been appointed lead counsel in cases nationwide, including the ongoing Imclone Securities Litigation. The firm also recently settled cases against Mattel and Emulex. Scott + Scott, LLC issues this release in accordance with the applicable federal securities laws. If you wish to discuss this action, have any questions concerning this notice, your rights with respect to this matter or any other securities fraud matter please contact Neil Rothstein Esq., nrothstein@aol. com, or David Scott Esq., drscott@scott-scott. com, Scott + Scott, LLC, 108 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, Connecticut 06415 at 800/404-7770 (fax: 860/537-4432).

Bringing Mythology and Folklore to Life for Young Readers: Epic New Fantasy Series Educates and Entertains

Fantasy literature has never been hotter for young readers. Led by J. K. Rowling and Lemony Snickets, a new wave of authors have ushered in a renaissance for young readers.

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) September 11, 2005

Fantasy literature has never been hotter for young readers. Led by J. K. Rowling and Lemony Snickets, a new wave of authors has ushered in a renaissance for young readers. Fantasy books are more popular now than any time in recent memory, but great success also breeds criticism. Some question the value of fantasy literature for children, while others wonder if their children are learning anything by exploring fictional realms.

Despite the debate, most experts agree that a healthy imagination is good for a child's development, and reading stimulates imagination in ways far beyond television shows and movies. Fantasy books also offer a chance to communicate important lessons.

“A good fantasy teaches children while it entertains them,” says M. J. Smith, author of Kevin Murphy Takes on the Father of Lies (B&S Publishing Corporation, 2005), the first in a series of six books starring Irish-American teenager Kevin Murphy. “Even as a kid, after hearing stories from my mother and grandmother, I realized that inside the outrageous tale, there was always a story that was meant to bring home some point they wanted to make for me.”

Smith's Kevin Murphy series follows the main character on fantastic and magical adventures all over the world, but it offers a twist that sets it apart. “While the fantasy and adventure are pure entertainment, what separates Kevin Murphy books from the rest of the pack are the real legends, geography, and characters in each of the countries he visits,” says Smith. “In addition to tales involving dragons, leprechauns, and fairies, the book offers great historical background and insight into the folklore of each country.”

Inspired by the stories and folklore told to him as a child by his grandmother and mother, Smith unveils a world filled with excitement and enshrouded in the history, myths, mythological creatures, legends, and geography of Ireland. Even though the first book focuses on Ireland, the series covers eighteen and a half months and takes the reader to Scotland, England, Australia, and the United States

The book, Kevin Murphy Takes on the Father of Lies, describes the encounters that the sixteen year old has as he faces the same evil character that his great, great, great, great, great-grandfather faced 135 years before. Murphy finds his life turned topsy-turvy following an ill-fated encounter with the Father of Lies, the terrifying leader of the Shadow World.

Readers may even learn a lesson or two along the way. “You'll find out that the hidden story was about family relationships and hopefully it will enrich your relationships,” says Smith. “You'll laugh and learn through humorous exploits about the value of truth, especially when it is discovered and shared with family and friends.”

Tender Corp.’s HealthiFeet Awarded American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Approval

Tender Corp.’s HealthiFeet Awarded American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Approval

Tender Corp., a leading manufacturer of over-the-counter topical cream and first aid products designed to enhance consumers’ quality of life, today announced that it has been awarded the coveted American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Approval for its topical moisturizing cream, HealthiFeet®.

Littleton, NH (PRWEB) December 4, 2009

Tender Corp., a leading manufacturer of over-the-counter topical cream and first aid products designed to enhance consumers’ quality of life, today announced that it has been awarded the coveted American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Approval for its topical moisturizing cream, HealthiFeet®.

The APMA, the leading organization representing America’s podiatrists, awarded the Seal (http://tiny. cc/ybk2F) to Tender Corp.’s HealthiFeet® for its beneficial attributes to overall quality of foot health.

HealthiFeet® (http://www. healthifeet. com) is a topical moisturizing cream designed to improve the foot health of people who suffer from the pain associated with poor foot circulation, including people with diabetes, neuropathy, or just plain old cold feet. In particular, when used as directed, HealthiFeet® greatly enhances the effectiveness of foot care programs of people who have diabetes.

People who are battling diabetes are often afflicted with serious foot problems, which, if left untreated, can become deadly. Poor circulation in the feet of people with diabetes results in 82,000 foot amputations each year.* Studies show that half of patients who lose a foot to amputation die within five years. However, comprehensive foot care programs have been shown to reduce amputations by 50%.**

After one week’s use, the podiatrist-recommended HealthiFeet® has been clinically proven to increase blood flow by 33% - 35% and foot temperature by five to eight degrees.*** HealthiFeet® contains the key ingredient L-Arginine, a naturally occurring amino acid which the body uses to regulate circulation. The L-Arginine in HealthiFeet® is transported through the skin by a patented delivery system, which restores normal temperatures to cold feet, keeping them warm and healthy.

“Tender Corp. is gratified to learn of the Association’s acknowledgement of HealthiFeet’s benefits,” said Tender CEO Jason Cartwright. “Like the APMA, Tender Corp. is driven to providing people with the tools and education they need to maintain healthy active lifestyles. We’re confident the APMA’s Seal will help alert people that there now exists an effective treatment for alleviating the pain that accompanies cold feet and poor foot circulation.”

HealthiFeet® is available in 1.8 oz (MSRP$9.99) and 4 oz (MSRP$19.99) tubes at Wal-Mart, Duane Reade and Publix, among other leading food, drug and mass outlets.

The Gift of Precious Memories This Christmas

The Gift of Precious Memories This Christmas

The Memories and Nostalgia Collection has launched a range of acid free storage boxes in time for Christmas to give family history enthusiasts, sentimentalists and keen scrapbookers a way of preserving memories of times gone by.

(PRWEB) November 9, 2005

The Memories and Nostalgia Collection has launched a range of acid free storage boxes in time for Christmas to give family history enthusiasts, sentimentalists and keen scrapbookers a way of preserving memories of times gone by.

The specially created family history boxes are manufactured using special acid-free board and paper designed to slow the process of decay and create a 'time capsule' that will hold precious memorabilia to pass from generation to generation. They make an ideal gift for any special occasion - presented empty or even pre-filled with priceless family history as a real 'This is Your Life'.

Interest in researching and preserving family history is an international phenomenon with one in four US households, gathering family memories, photographs and materials from garments worn on significant occasions. In the UK, the interest in family history is by no means scrappy, last month a leading UK retailer attributed its bounce back into profit directly to the scrapbooking boom.

The archive-packaging experts behind the nostalgia collection, Waterman's, have been making specialist-packaging and materials since 1897 and have served leading museums, record keepers and archivists for decades. Due to the increasing demand for home record storage, and the desire to keep and collect, they have now developed a fully tested, new range to fit domestic needs and budgets.

Director of The Memories and Nostalgia Collection, David Waterman explains the importance of the storage boxes, "Family history is a huge part of every day life and the importance of keeping a record of marriages, births, family health and history is becoming much more prevalent. Virtually everyone keeps papers and family mementos but stores them in ways that guarantee they will deteriorate. Old shoes boxes, plastic bags, drawers and keepsake boxes are acidic - and that rots paper and fabric. Our new Family History and Keepsake collection box was created to give peace of mind that treasured items will remain safe from deterioration. The feedback we have had since the launch of the new collection has been phenomenal."

The Family History Box kit, is far more flexible than a traditional scrapbook as it contains five useful box sizes, record sheets and practical solutions for the most commonly kept items found in many households. It costs from £29.99 including postage and packing and can be purchase online from www. memories-nostalgia. com.

"If people want their memorabilia to endure they need to use professional quality, acid free materials," summarises David, "Until now that has been very difficult for the family history enthusiast to find. The Memories and Nostalgia Collection makes archive grade quality available to everyone and means that precious memories can be preserved for future generations."

Top Ranked Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Twitter User Launches Interactive News and Entertainment Website

Top Ranked Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Twitter User Launches Interactive News and Entertainment Website

New Website Launches to Combine Unique Stories And Breaking News With Social Media For Immediate Distribution and Maximum Impact.

Lake Havasu City, AZ (PRWEB) March 4, 2010

Matt Drudge and Perez Hilton - look out - there's a new challenger in the blogosphere, with the addition of the newly launched website www. terryaley. com! According to www. Twitterholic. com, Terry Aley's Twitter username "rawveggies" has been ranked Number 1 in Lake Havasu City with the most followers. (via http://twitterholic. com/rawveggies/ (http://twitterholic. com/rawveggies/)) Aley plans to build on this ranking with his new website, www. terryaley. com, and branch out into breaking news.

Mo'Nique's Hairy Legs!
-Olympic Skier Loses Race After Hearing Neighbor Having Too Much Sex!
-A $700 pair of Nikes
-A List of Twitter Celebrities, and How They Treat Their Fans

(http://www. terryaley. com (http://www. terryaley. com)) These are just a few of the things Terry Aley might be talking about on his website that brings together politics, outlandish news and celebrities.

By day, he designs and implements advertising campaigns for healthcare professionals. By night, he runs a news blogging website, www. terryaley. com.

The problem with most news websites is that the bulk of their content is on every other news site. And if it is original content, it may only have local appeal. Aley sifts through up to a hundred websites a day to locate the best breaking news. "These days, if a news story breaks at 10 a. m., and you don't post it until 3 p. m., it's already old news," he says. News is also in a 24-hour cycle these days. While most of U. S. is sound asleep, places like Europe and Australia are in full swing with their news cycles. "I peruse what's happening on the other side of the globe late at night. I'm seeing breaking news that the DrudgeReport won't be reporting until the next morning," he says.

The age of Twitter and social media change everything. People hear about breaking news, sometimes within minutes. Standard news websites then must write a story, get quotes, find a photo or video to illustrate it, then post it. The story also often has to break between 9 to 5, or they need to keep a design and website crew on the job 24/7 to make sure someone can post it. "I don't post most breaking news stories, only the ones that haven't been picked up heavily by the mainstream media. I don't like to have redundant stories. There may be a major earthquake somewhere, but everyone else is covering it. That's not my niche," Aley says.

It took months to get www. terryaley. com just right. There aren't many news sites designed to coordinate with Twitter. Originally, he wanted each of his Twitter posts to flow into his website, then allow for comments. As it turns out, it was just as fast to make a blog post of any length, then to "reTweet" the post allowing for a link over to his website. This allows for more than the 140 character limit of Twitter. Twitter users following Aley are immediately linked, they can reTweet to their own followers, and anyone can jump in and participate by commenting on the story.

The site was a combination of ideas. It has the continual feed of new content, with the newest stories at the top, much like www. PerezHilton. com. It also integrates some celebrity elements. "I started Twitter last year, then realized I was chatting with a lot of celebrities. I can be chatting with a celebrity, then posting a related news item," he says. There is some gossip on the site, but it's usually done tongue and cheek. "There isn't as much shock and relentless celebrity bashing as with PerezHilton," he says. It also takes some elements from www. DrudgeReport. com. "I post a lot of links to stories I enjoy. I don't think it's necessary to illustrate every story. Some people just want to know what happened in one to four sentences – they don't need to get completely immersed in it."

Don't think Aley lets celebrities off the hook though. "I posted an article about celebrities on Twitter, including the ones who will chat with you, and the ones who are Twitter train wrecks. People appreciate the fact I tell them Denise Richards is a big name dropper. And Deepak Chopra has trouble spelling and making sense at times when Tweeting – despite being an accomplished author."

Aley has a journalism degree that doesn't get much use these days, so the site allows him the chance to select and discuss stories he loves. The site is deliberately simple. "I don't want a site like Fox News, with so many visual elements that it's overwhelming. It has to be clean, simple and orderly," he says.

Aley is also politically independent. "I'm just as likely to say something good or bad about either the Democrats or the Republicans. I don't slam Al Gore for global warming every day. But I also don't slam Sarah Palin for every gaffe. I might say something bad today, but I am just as likely to say something good tomorrow."

So far the venture is all in fun. "I'm not quitting my day job anytime soon. For me, this is an exciting way to spend an evening," he says.

Super Model SmileSM

Super Model SmileSM

Known for its aesthetic dentistry and state-of-the-art facility, MK Dental Clinique® has announced a unique event called the Super Model Smile. Later this year, candidates will be able to send their application and video to MK Dental Clinique® in hopes of receiving a complete smile makeover worth up to $50,000. The twist is that no ugly duckling, like on Fox’s The Swan®, need apply. Instead, the Dental Clinique is seeking gorgeous entrees with horrible teeth.

PORTLAND, OR (PRWEB) July 31, 2004

Another distinction between other makeovers seen on television and the Super Model Smile is the number of restorations. For instance, ABCÂ’s Extreme Makeover show typically only restores the upper 6, 8 or 10 teeth and bleaches the rest. The Super Model Smile will be restoring every single tooth using the most cosmetic porcelain veneers and crowns available.

The young and beautiful candidates will be able to visit the company web site at www. mkdentalclinique. com and download the Super Model SmileSM application in November 2004. The lucky winner will be announced on ValentineÂ’s Day 2005. The Dental CliniqueÂ’s owner, Dr. Kyung L. Boen, D. M.D., F. A.G. D. will then proceed to create an incredible new smile for her.

Dr. Boen has been practicing aesthetic dentistry for 10 years. Her credentials include graduating from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon at only 24 years of age, receiving her Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry at only 29 years of age and she is a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Extreme Heat Meets Zero Energy with Demonstration Home Project in Borrego Springs on April 25, 2006

Extreme Heat Meets Zero Energy with Demonstration Home Project in Borrego Springs on April 25, 2006

Clarum Homes, California’s largest Zero Energy Home developer, hosts preview of its Borrego Springs Zero Energy Demonstration Project on APril 25, 2006. Real world test bed features four homes with latest in zero energy technologies; including, state-of-the-art wall, cooling and solar electric systems.

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) April 17, 2006 –

Clarum Homes, California’s largest Zero Energy Home developer, announced today that they will be hosting a special preview event of its Borrego Springs Zero Energy Demonstration Project on April 25, 2006 which will include a tour of the four (4) demonstration homes specially constructed for the project’s extreme desert climate. The project was developed through a partnership with the U. S. Department of Energy’s Building America Program, ConSol, and Davis Energy Group. The four demonstration homes, which are available for sale, were designed with a goal of 90% energy reduction and built with the latest zero energy technologies; including, state-of-the-art wall, cooling and solar electric systems. The homes will be tested for energy efficiency continuously over the next twelve months and the information will be shared with other builders, manufacturers and municipalities throughout the country.

“Homeowners now more than ever are concerned about the rising cost of energy and the effects of energy production on the environment,” said John Suppes, founder and president of Clarum Homes. “Since 1999, we have been dedicated to building sustainable communities. These demonstration homes in Borrego Springs, California provide an opportunity to explore new products that could be economically viable both in the regular and affordable housing markets that we serve; including, our future California developments in Desert Hot Springs and Blythe, as well as, our Arizona developments in Tucson and Prescott.”

Zero Energy Homes are constructed with sustainable building products, generate their own electricity with photovoltaic systems, and reduce energy consumption by up to 90% with other energy efficient features such as on-demand hot water heaters, radiant roof barriers, high-efficiency furnaces and appliances, tightly sealed ducts, extra insulation and low-e windows.

“President Bush announced the Advanced Energy Initiative, a 22-percent increase in clean-energy research at the Department of Energy, in his January State of the Union address. This includes the Solar America Initiative to accelerate the development of solar photovoltaic "PV" cells that convert sunlight directly to electricity so that future Zero Energy Homes produce more energy than they consume. These PV cells are the very products we are using in the demonstration homes,” stated Suppes.

The Borrego Springs Zero Energy Demonstration Project homes will showcase three types of wall systems – Styrofoam T-MASS, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) and High Efficiency 24” o. c. Optimum Value Engineered (OVE) Wood Framing. In addition to the three wall systems, the demonstration homes, which share the same floor plan, will be equipped with three different cutting edge cooling systems: two of the homes feature Speakman 2 stage evaporate coolers; the third home has a Freus water cooled condenser and AC; and the fourth home features a Lennox 20.5 SEER AC. All of the homes will feature

3.2 kW Kyocera photovoltaic solar systems and have exterior shade screens.

Project goals for the demonstration homes include:

Design and build highly energy efficient sustainable production housing for entry level buyers Achieve up to 90% energy reduction in cooling Build energy efficient homes with highly sustainable characteristics while meeting Zone 4 structural requirements Collect data on cost, construction schedule, production feasibility, lifecycles and quantified energy savings Study date to determine cost effectiveness of sustainable technology applications Run tests prior to occupancy and for 12 months after move-in to evaluate energy efficiency for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Publish updated evaluations and efficiency data at www. clarumzeroenergy. com for builders, manufacturers and municipalities.

The Building Industry Research Alliance (BIRA), the Davis Energy Group (DEG) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will work closely with Clarum and ConSol to evaluate the performance of each of the homes to identify the most cost effective energy features.

During the preview event, local officials and media representatives will be shown the different energy options used throughout the project and will have the opportunity to discuss the impact on the findings with Clarum president, John Suppes, ConSol principal Rob Hammon, Ph. D. and the project designer Michael Frerking, an Arizona architect.

Digital Healthcare's Retasure now in South Texas

Digital Healthcare's Retasure now in South Texas

Digital Healthcare, a Wake Forest, NC company specializing in retinal risk assessment for diabetics, announced today a new Retasure reading center in South Texas. Charles H. Campbell, MD, FACS, FICS will lead the new reading facility.

Wake Forest, NC (PRWEB) February 23, 2008

Digital Healthcare, a Wake Forest, NC company specializing in retinal risk assessment for diabetics, announced today a new Retasure reading center in South Texas.

Charles H. Campbell, MD, FACS, FICS will lead the new reading facility which has locations in Alice, Aransas Pass, Beeville, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Eagle Pass, Harlingen, Kingsville, McAllen, and Rio Grande City. The addition of South Texas Retina Consultants with state-licensed and board certified ophthalmologists will enable South Texas primary care providers and endocrinologists to provide sight-saving services to their diabetic patients.

"Having Dr. Campbell and his team of physicians on board expands the reach of our diabetic services offering to South Texas residents," said Scott Sanner, Senior Vice President for Digital Healthcare's North American Operations. "Dr. Campbell's extensive retinal experience and training will be a tremendous benefit for all Retasure patients."

Dr. Campbell is a retina specialist and founder of South Texas Retina Consultants. Dr. Campbell is no stranger to bringing "cutting edge" medicine to South Texas. Since completing his retina fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 1974, he was the first to bring vitrectomy surgery and laser treatments to South Texas. South Texas Retina Consultants continues to lead the way through clinical research bringing treatments not yet FDA approved to South Texas. Retasure just becomes an extension of that commitment to the people of South Texas and is summarized by their motto: "Blindness is Preventable".

"As an ophthalmologist I know that many times at-risk patients fall through the cracks and don't receive regular eye exams," said Dr. Campbell. "Retasure provides a solution and allows us to catch eye disease earlier. Early intervention is where we can make the biggest difference and help patients preserve their sight."

The FDA-approved Retasure program provides a simple, affordable, and non-invasive solution that allows physicians to capture their patients' retinal images during a three to five minute procedure. Images are transmitted over a secure, HIPAA compliant network to an accredited reading center. A state-licensed and board-certified ophthalmologist reviews the images and results are returned to the original physician within 72 hours.

There are an estimated 20 million diabetic patients in the US, but only about half have any retinal assessments, despite a high risk of diabetic retinopathy. The National Eye Institute indicates diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness among working age American adults. More than a million patients around the world have received a retinal risk assessment using Digital Healthcare software.

About Digital Healthcare
Digital Healthcare is the global leader in retinal risk assessment. They are the world's leading provider of care management programs for diabetic retinopathy. Their award-winning MS-HUG technology is used by leading hospitals and research centers including University Hospitals Case Medical Center at Case Western Reserve University, The Wilmer Eye Institute at The Johns Hopkins University and the United States Military. Digital Healthcare's Retasure solution offers several advantages for primary care and endocrinologist physicians and their patients: It can be operated by non-clinicians; it is non-invasive and requires no dilation; it obtains exceptionally high-quality digital images of the retina using a simple-to-operate fundus camera; it returns results quickly to the ordering physicians; and it encourages patient compliance for retinal evaluation and comprehensive eye examinations. www. retasure. com

Technology, New Service Models, Vertical Expansion to Drive BPO StarTek CEO and President Identifies Three Outsourcing Mega-Trends

Technology, New Service Models, Vertical Expansion to Drive BPO StarTek CEO and President Identifies Three Outsourcing Mega-Trends

Technology, not only the search for talent, is emerging as one of three megatrends that will change the character of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry according to StarTek CEO and President Larry Jones. Suggesting that “agents will be turbocharged on technology,” Jones envisions services delivery through multiple emerging technologies including social networking.

Manila, Philippines (PRWEB) November 5, 2009

Technology, not only the search for talent, is emerging as one of three megatrends that will change the character of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry according to StarTek CEO and President Larry Jones. Suggesting that “agents will be turbocharged on technology,” Jones envisions services delivery through multiple emerging technologies including social networking.

In recent years, BPO services providers have built service centers around the world, often in emerging nations, that provide a plentiful supply of educated but low-cost workers. While talent availability will remain an important concern for the industry, according to Jones, new communications technologies are likely to relieve some pressure on services providers to leverage far-flung, low-cost lasbor markets.

Jones made his forecast in remarks delivered at the International Outsourcing Summit: Global Market Leaders Addressing Global Issues (IOS) last month. Industry luminaries from the United States, China, Malaysia, Canada, India, Australia, Europe, Singapore, and South Africa attended the Summit, and many participated as speakers for the influential meeting held in the world’s second-largest offshore outsourcing center, after India.

Two other megatrends—the increasing popularity of “at home agents” and new vertical growth—are also likely to have significant impact on the nature of BPO services delivery, according to Jones. Virtual contact centers staffed by part-time agents working at home and connected by high-speed portals will lessen the need to recruit large numbers of agents in one locale. “They can be anywhere,” Jones said.

Jones said that the BPO industry has traditionally and primarily relied on demand from just three industries: telecom, finance, and retail. He predicted that pharmaceuticals, biotech, utilities, clean technology, organic food, and healthcare will emerge as new sources of revenue as the BPO industry expands, and demand for value-added services accelerates in the next five years. “These are global issues, and the BPO industry will find huge opportunity here,” he said.

Technology advances will find BPOs providing truly “friendly technology” for self-help, enabling clients to address their concerns quickly. When human interface is necessary, voice assistance is increasingly being supplemented by e-mail and chat. Social networking, Jones said, is a powerful, emerging tool for building customer care communities that incorporate client interface in addressing other client issues. Jones also believes that technology-driven analytics providing better insight to customers, markets, operations, and sales is becoming a sought-after service as companies seek to build strategic partnerships with their customers.

At home agents are already a “hot” strategy for services providers in developed markets, although connectivity issues in offshore locations such as India and the Philippines make reliance on at home agents less feasible. Still, Jones believes that recruiting and training at home agents can and will take place without applicants ever setting foot in their employers’ offices, aside from performing the work they are hired to do.

Vertical growth, Jones said, could dramatically increase the size of the addressable BPO market, estimated at between $150-250 billion by industry analysts.

Jones also said the Philippines can benefit from the technology-driven and vertical growth megatrends. “The Philippines is already considered the top offshore outsourcing location for customer care; however, for the country to catch up with other locations for higher value-added services, the Philippines must address challenges in the development of talent that have the technical skills to maximize the use of next-generation technology,” he said.
