Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 10, 2009

Article directory (http://www. thearticleplace. com) submission is a "trigger" phrase to traffic-hunting webmasters interested in Search Engine Optimization. Not only must websites create multiple pages of fresh content but they must also build up numerous back links on other websites if they hope to bring in traffic. Though some websites charge a considerable fee for back linking privileges, TheArticlePlace. com is allowing "free rein" to their returning traffic.

TheArticlePlace. com, a free article submission (http://www. thearticleplace. com) site, allows free and uncomplicated article submission to webmasters, company owners, SEO specialists and experts in a variety of fields. Not only are submission privileges free of charge, but authors are also unlimited in how many articles they can submit. The only request from the popular website is that all articles be practical in theme and contain relevant information. The website also offers easy navigation and search features to allow their consumers to find web content quickly.

The free article (http://www. thearticleplace. com) submission site provides useful features not only to webmasters looking for SEO assistance, but also for everyday Internet surfers looking for quality content on a subject. This type of arrangement can lead to massive exposure of a new website, higher search engine rankings and the proliferation of back links.

The website does have a submissions process that must be followed. Submitters are asked to send only 100% original articles, and that each one be grammatically correct and have accurate spelling. Articles do not allow multiple links or constant, SPAM-like self-promotion. Only one link is allowed and this is in the signature section of the article. Links are only provided if management deems the website to be of high quality, and that the site does not contain pop up ads. The user must also consent to each article being free to copy and reproduced in its entirety. All submitted articles should be 300 words or more. Articles for the free submission site will be submitted through an online form.

Eyelastin Sales on the Rise as Alternative to Risky Cosmetic Procedures

Eyelastin Sales on the Rise as Alternative to Risky Cosmetic Procedures

Eyelastin eye cream has been enjoying an influx in sales in recent months as more consumers are choosing to place their trust with clinically proven eye creams, as opposed to risk-laden cosmetic procedures. More Hollywood stars are revealing their deep mental regrets post cosmetic procedures that they have undergone to enhance their skin and beautify their external appearances. The most recent star to lament is Lisa Rinna ("Dancing with the Stars"), who shared her woes during an interview with the popular maternal website, Momlogic. com, where Rinna stated that she regretted using injections when she could have cared better for her skin in other, less intrusive ways. When comparing cosmetic injections such as Rinna used (Juvederm; Hyaluronic Acid injections), many consumers are opting to go with non-intrusive, and needle-free alternatives like Eyelastin--which delivers Hyaluronic Acid using Nanoderm Technology, and provides equally as effective results in a similar timeframe as injections or other popular facial cosmetic procedures, without causing any known side effects or requiring lengthy recovery periods.

Manalapan, NJ (PRWEB) February 15, 2009

Eyelastin eye cream has realized a recent surge in sales as more consumers are turning away from risky cosmetic procedures in favor of clinically proven eye creams that are equally as effective. Cosmetic medical procedures that offer skin enhancements have become immensely popular in recent years. A common misconception amongst many is that in order to have that 'Hollywood' appeal to your skin, some form of risky surgery is required. When indeed, dicey medical procedures that often have an air of known and dangerous, and sometimes severe side effects attached to their usages are not the most ideal, nor are they the most cost-effective solution to common skin problems like aging, wrinkles, fine lines and smile lines, puffy eyes, baggy eyes or dark under eye circles. In light of the many now-known risks that are associated with such common procedures, more consumers are turning to safer alternatives that offer similar benefits, like Eyelastin--the leading eye cream--which is enjoying heightened sales as more consumers seek alternative methods to risky cosmetic procedures.

In a recent interview with Momlogic. com--a website dedicated to all things maternal-- Lisa Rinna, the star of the hit TV series "Dancing with the Stars" divulged, "I had Juvederm (Hyaluronic Acid injections) put in my cheeks. That's what I overdid--big time." Rinna added, "When you change your face, you don't look like yourself. Looking fresher is one thing. I look like a freak! I always said I wouldn't change my face, but I did it!"

Rinna went on later during the interview to offer some advice to those who were considering similar cosmetic medical procedures to enhance their skin. "You get older and insecure and you think you need it, and you don't. I learned less is more. Keep your skin good!"

"More Hollywood stars are quickly realizing that they quite often hold an air of mental regret following a cosmetic procedure to improve their skin," states Marissa Williams, spokesperson for Dermagevity Skin Care, the makers of Eyelastin.

"When in reality, facial injections like Juvederm are only delivering Hyaluronic Acid into the skin pores. Eyelastin also uses Hyaluronic Acid, and delivers it similarly using Nanoderm Technology," Williams says. "However, unlike injections, which can be painful and intrusive, and that can have some undesirable side effects, Eyelastin has no side effects and is equally as effective."

Eyelastin eye cream is easily applied in smaller amounts around the areas of the eyes that show wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness and bagginess, dark under eye circles or other signs of aging. The proprietary, patented and clinically proven ingredients are delivered quickly, deep beneath the surface of the skin using Eyelastin's Nanoderm technology--a proprietary ingredient complex that brings together a powerful combination of proven anti-aging ingredients with an advanced delivery technology. Noticeable minimization of common skin ailments are generally realized within the first 2-4 weeks of daily usage.

For more information on Eyelastin eye cream, please visit them online at: http://www. eyelastin. com (http://www. eyelastin. com).

Probiotic Skin Nutrition From The Inside Out: Hot Beauty Trend in '09

Probiotic Skin Nutrition From The Inside Out: Hot Beauty Trend in '09

One of the world's first nutritional supplement companies to formulate a skincare supplement based on probiotics, Ascent Nutrition has developed an all natural clinically proven skincare formulation that is appropriate for consumers of anti-wrinkle, moisturizing and skin rejuvenation products.

Park City, UT (PRWEB) May 21, 2009

Building upon years of scientific research on the patented L. casei KE-99 probiotic strain, Ascent Nutrition, one of the country's most innovative nutritional supplement companies announces the launch of patent pending KINU Probio Beauty to skin and nutritional professionals in the U. S. Formulated from a balanced blend of L. casei KE-99, cranberry seed oil and fish collagen peptide, KINU becomes one of the world's first commercially marketed probiotic supplements targeted specifically for skincare.

"Skincare specialists have known for years that what people put into their bodies has a dramatic effect on the quality of their hair, skin and nails," according to Matthew Smith, President of Ascent Nutrition. "KINU addresses this unmet need plus provides the added benefit of probiotics such as boosting the immune system and helping with digestive problems such as constipation and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). KINU doesn't' replace the skincare products that women use, it just may help them work better."

Consumers are becoming very familiar with the benefits of probiotics due to the introduction of live culture food supplements that can be found in grocery stores. Similar to these products, the L. casei KE-99 in KINU is also patented, but rather than a daily yogurt or a drink, a couple of convenient capsules replenish the digestive system with good bacteria. The good bacteria displace "bad" or unwanted bacteria which are known to send toxins throughout the body and compete for nutrients. Once good bacteria are well established in the digestive system, essential fatty acids and nutrients can be processed and sent throughout the body, including the skin.

KINU also adds two new ingredients known for beauty and health: Cranberry seed oil and a fish collagen peptide. The cranberry seed oil is naturally balanced with Omega 3, 6, and 9, beneficial for circulation skin integrity and moisture retention. Cranberry seed oil, a potent anti-oxidant, also contains all 8 isomers of Vitamin E, which nourish and promote healthy skin and hair. The other natural component of KINU is a fish collagen peptide from Japan (www. nitta-gelatin. co. jp). This peptide is rich in Threonine and Methionine, essential fatty acids for healthy hair, nails and skin. This highly concentrated natural protein is also known to repair and restore skin.

The application of probiotics in skin disorders is being widely studied with very encouraging results. A clinical study with KINU was recently completed with over 90% of the women reporting a reduction of fine lines, increased skin elasticity and moisturization of the skin. The subset of women with digestive problems also reported a resolution of symptoms.

While many of the major beauty product manufacturers are jumping on the topical probiotics bandwagon, KINU is at the forefront of getting the most of probiotics from the inside out. "One of the interesting things we have heard back from our test markets is the effect KINU has on hair growth and nail strength," said Smith, "this is consistent with what we know about our ingredients but was an unintended surprise. We will be sure to be looking at this closer in our next study."

For additional information on KINU, contact Matt Smith or visit www. kinu. us.

Pulse Provides IVR System to Hoxworth Blood Center

Pulse Provides IVR System to Hoxworth Blood Center

Hoxworth Blood Center at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center deploys the pulsevoice interactive voice response (IVR) system to communicate test results to patients.

Richmond Hill, ON (PRWEB) October 20, 2004

pulse, a leading provider of innovative telephony solutions, today announced that Hoxworth Blood Center at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, an internationally recognized leader in transfusion medicine, has successfully deployed pulse’s interactive voice response (IVR) system – pulsevoice – to communicate test results to patients.

As part of its blood donation program, Hoxworth Blood Center offers free cholesterol screening tests to all blood donors. The non-fasting total serum cholesterol level test is part of all successful blood donations, and is intended to be a screening only.

Donors can obtain the results of the screening three days after the blood donation, by phone only. At the time of donation, Hoxworth provides each donor a unique ID number and phone number to call.

Miami Department of Veterans Administration Awards Culture Change Transformation Contract to the Institute for Caregiver Education

The Institute for Caregiver Education was awarded a $200,000 contract to facilitate the transformation of seven homes in the Miami VA Healthcare System from a clinical model to a social model of care. The Miami VA Healthcare System is part of the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8), which encompasses Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The Institute for Caregiver Education is a nationally-recognized leader in Culture Change education, and is currently a leading Culture Change educator for a number of state QIO organizations as they work with the 8th Scope of Work and CMS.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 16, 2006

This month the Institute for Caregiver Education was awarded a contract to facilitate the transformation of seven homes in the Miami VA Healthcare System from a clinical model to a social model of care. The contract started on October 2nd and will last for twenty months. The Miami VA Healthcare System is part of the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8), which encompasses Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

The main goal of the contract is to assist the Miami VA Healthcare System to change the culture in its skilled nursing services departments from an institutional model to a resident-centered model of care. The initiative will ultimately cultivate a model of care that will focus on the holistic needs of the veterans to improve their quality of care and quality of life. The contract execution will feature four key elements:

1. transforming the current nursing home culture to a resident-centered approach

2. empowering frontline team members to help address issues related to the delivery of customized, high quality care

3. changing the environment to foster a homelike experience

4. linking transformation of the nursing home culture to quality indicators

The cornerstones of the program will be community and VA partnerships, interdisciplinary care management, and support from local leadership. Together with the Institute, the Miami VA Healthcare System will create a model of care that not only focuses on the treatment of disease, but care that focuses on the social, environmental and emotional needs of individual residents.

“We are proud and honored to have been chosen as the Miami VA’s guide for this important journey,” says Institute President Annette Sanders. “According to the US Senate Committee on Veteran’s Affairs, there are approximately 35,800 men and women in VA homes across the country. That is a lot of people who can experience the positive effects of transforming medical model homes to a model that embraces individuality.”

The seven communities in the contract include:

Miami VA Healthcare System  James A. Hayley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa  VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan  North Florida / South Georgia VA Healthcare System  Orlando VA Medical Center  Bay Pines VA Healthcare System  West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System

The Institute for Caregiver Education is a nationally-recognized leader in Culture Change education. For more than 15 years the organization has provided quality caregiver education to nursing homes from California to Maine. Over the last five years the IfCE team has educated hundreds of long-term care professionals on a myriad of Culture Change topics at such national conferences as ASA, NADONA, AAHSA, AHCA, ACHCA, The Pioneer Network, the VA Summit and numerous state associations. MedSurge Advances to Debut LipoFirm™ at ASLMS Annual Conference: A New Laser Lipolysis Technology for Localized Fat Reduction & Skin Tightening

MedSurge Advances to Debut LipoFirm™ at ASLMS Annual Conference: A New Laser Lipolysis Technology for Localized Fat Reduction & Skin Tightening

New LipoFirm™ 980 nm semi-conductor (diode) laser system* is a premier lipolysis laser that selectively emulsifies adipocytes and tightens skin.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 22, 2008

MedSurge Advances, the nation's largest independent provider of aesthetic medicine products and services to physicians, today announced the availability of LipoFirm, the new semi-conductor (diode) laser system. LipoFirm is manufactured by Osyris of Lille, France. LipoFirm will be exhibited at the ASLMS Annual Conference in Kissimmee, FL Booth #935.

LipoFirm 980nm is a laser lipolysis device specifically designed to disrupt adipocytes through a controlled thermal effect. The effect from the laser not only liquefies fat but also creates skin tightening, thus making this procedure ideal by itself when treating localized areas of fat or in combination with traditional liposuction whenever skin laxity is problematic. LipoFirm has been clinically proven to reduce fat deposits in the chin, ankle, calf, knees, lower back, lower abdomen and back of arms.

Laser Lipolysis Offers Many Benefits
The patented 1 mm cannula delivers perfectly homogeneous results and requires only local tumescent anesthesia. Incision-free delivery results in maximum patient comfort and is a perfect complement to traditional liposuction with less downtime. The LipoFirm laser utilizes a 600 micron fiber. With a thicker fiber, breakage during treatments is drastically reduced resulting in fewer procedural interruptions. Additionally, an integrated thermal imaging system provides enhanced visualization for physicians while performing procedures. LipoFirm technology has an auto-regulation temperature control, thus preventing overheating of patient tissue during the treatment.

Smart Card Technology Provides an Easy to Upgrade Platform
Smart card technology allows physicians to add additional procedures by simply changing the smart card and handpiece. The same laser system easily switches from laser lipolysis to exovenous treatments for the removal of blue leg veins and endovenous treatments for the removal of great saphenous veins. The 980 nm semi-conductor (diode) laser has a ten-year lifetime and weighs only 15 kg making the whole system easily transportable.

Mathematical Modeling at the Core of Laser Lipolysis
LipoFirm™ was developed by researchers in Lille, France at the Lille University Hospital using a unique mathematical modeling approach. Prior to actual laser development, sophisticated mathematical models were built and tested to determine the best possible outcomes with the greatest likelihood of reproducibility. Once mathematical models were perfected, actual laser development began. To learn more about this unique approach, attend the following presentation at the ASLMS Annual Conference:
Presentation titled, "Mathematical Modeling of Laser Lipolysis," as presented by Serge Mordon, Benjamin Wassmer, Jean Pascal Reynaud and Jaouad Zemmouri on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 4:30 p. m.

* Pending FDA Clearance

Award winning graphic artist available for freelance projects for worthy causes

Award winning graphic artist available for freelance projects for worthy causes.

After a long career helping clients increase profits, creative director goes freelance to help non-profits realize other goals.

(PRWEB) November 9, 2001

Michael Mercier, most recently a principal in the Ohio advertising agency, Mercier Rubinstein Associates has begun accepting freelance work for causes or organizations with goals other than profits.

"My career as a graphic artist and creative director," Mercier says, "has spanned more years than I care to talk about and been spent mostly in retail stores and advertising agencies helping clients make money. While there's certainly nothing wrong with the profit motive, I want to put my talent and experience to work for people or organizations with other things in mind - conservancy organizations for instance, or education and advocacy groups."

"As a freelance, I can do things much more cost-effectively than I can with a lot of support people surrounding me," Mercier continues. "I'll still need to get paid, but I won't have to pay a bunch of vice presidents."

Mercier offers services as a graphic artist, designer, creative director, web designer, project manager and more. Information is on line at http://michaelmercier. com (http://michaelmercier. com).

Mercier's career began in retail advertising as a graphic artist, becoming an art director and creative director for department stores and mass merchandisers. He switched to the agency side in the late 1970s as an art director, creative director and principal. Mercier has won a number of Addy Awards for print and broadcast work and regional Emmy Awards for his TV spots. In the mid 1990s, Mercier became interested in the World Wide Web, learning html coding and web page design. In 1998, his design for Children's Hospital of Columbus won the Gold Medal for Web Site Design in the Healthcare Marketing Reports Annual Awards.

Company's Tradition of Community Support Aids Tsunami Victims

Company's Tradition of Community Support Aids Tsunami Victims

Synergy Solutions, a teleservices company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, has a long history of community service and charity volunteerism as part of its corporate culture. Between Dec. 30 and Jan. 14, they utilized this outward focus to raise funds for tsunami victims.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) January 26, 2005

Giving back to the community is nothing new for Synergy Solutions, an inbound and outbound teleservices firm located in Phoenix. They volunteer many hours, donate and support local and global charities year-round, including holiday donations to Notmykid. org in lieu of holiday gifts for clients. But as members of the Synovation volunteerism team watched in horror the images of the tsunami destruction in Southeast Asia, they knew something extra had to be done. Only a few days after the disaster, the team had launched an aggressive fund raising campaign within the company, and they called on everyone from the top down. “When the team came up with this plan, I was thrilled,” commented Lori Fentem, president of Synergy Solutions. “We agreed that the company would match dollar for dollar all donations made by our employees nationwide.”

In just a few short weeks, from December 30 to January 14, the employees and company had raised over $5500, which was donated to MercyCorps and Doctors Without Borders, both charities with a strong presence where the tsunami hit hardest. “I’m very proud of what we were able to do in such a short amount of time,” added Fentem, “It’s amazing what a small group can do if we all pull together, and that’s what Synovation is all about.”

The Synovation team at Synergy Solutions consists of eleven volunteer representatives from every area of the company – operations, account management, IT, accounting and sales – who come together to create Synovation which is defined as combining Synergy (The Power of Team) and Innovation. The team’s mission is to foster the Synovation Culture by developing community service projects, volunteer opportunities, as well as building team spirit and camaraderie within the company. Another of the great ideas that has come out of the Synovation team is the “Synovation Weekly,” a brief newsletter that is sent to every employee every Monday morning. The newsletter focuses on the good news happening within the company and their community service. Recent issues included kudos for jobs well done, quotes from delighted clients, funds raised to support an employee’s ill daughter, a chili for charity event, and news of the company’s 5th birthday celebration. “This is the very first thing I look at on Monday mornings, and it starts my whole week off right,” commented Corey Conklin, Chief Operating Officer. “It’s one more way of staying focused on the positive and keeping our entire staff connected to one another as a team,” he added.

About the Company

Synergy Solutions, Inc., headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, specializes in providing innovative customer contact solutions including inbound and outbound teleservices on behalf of Fortune 1000 companies in a variety of industries, including financial services, health care, insurance, telecommunications, and publishing. GOAT ASSISTS IN RELIEVEING SIDE EFFECT FOR CHEMOTHERAPY PATIENTS

GOAT ASSISTS IN RELIEVEING SIDE EFFECT FOR CHEMOTHERAPY PATIENTS

Roxanne Shaw working as an oncology nurse and owner of Goatmilk Goodness Valley Soaps, has created a soap using goat's milk which helps dry skin feel smooth and healthy. Chemotherapy patients who have dry skin can benefit from her soap as well as allergy sufferers and people with senstive skin.

SPRUCE CREEK, PA (PRWEB) October 12, 2003

Goatmilk Goodness Valley, a Huntingdon County based business, manufactures a soap that helps relieve chemotherapy patients of dry, flaky, itchy skin, a side effect of chemotherapy.

Roxanne Shaw, working as an oncology nurse and owner of Goatmilk Goodness Valley has created a soap from the milk of the dairy goats that she raises on her Spruce Creek farm. What makes Roxanne's soap better than commerical soaps is the fact that her handcrafted soap contains natural moisturizers which helps dry skin feel smooth and healthy. In addition, the low pH of goat's milk, when added to soap makes a cleansing agent that is closer to your skin's own natural pH, which makes it gentle for your skin.

When asked how she discovered that Goatmilk Goodness Valley Soaps would help chemotherapy patients, Ms. Shaw replied, "I gave my chemotherapy patients some of my soap to try to help relieve the discomfort of their dry, itchy skin. When they returned for their chemotherapy treatments, the flakiness was gone and their skin looked much better." Allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin had the same results.

If you would like more information on Goatmilk Goodness Valley Soaps please contact Roxanne Shaw at (814)632-0099 or visit her website www. goatmilkgoodness. com

Best Friends Animal Society Celebrates National Feral Cat Day, Oct. 16, 2009

Best Friends Animal Society Celebrates National Feral Cat Day, Oct. 16, 2009

Best Friends Animal Society encourages people to use National Feral Cat Day on Oct. 16 as an opportunity to learn how they can be part of the solution to make life better for homeless cats.

(Vocus) October 12, 2009

Best Friends Animal Society encourages people to use National Feral Cat Day on Oct. 16 as an opportunity to learn how they can be part of the solution to make life better for homeless cats.

Started in 2001 by Alley Cat Allies, National Feral Cat Day has become "an effective way to highlight the issue of overpopulation of feral and stray cats, and the humane approaches to helping them," said Shelly Kotter, Focus on Felines campaign specialist for Best Friends Animal Society.

Kotter explained that Best Friends Animal Society believes that the needs of free-roaming cats and the issues surrounding them -- which exist in every community -- are best encapsulated in the term "community cats."

"There is no one description that fits all free-roaming cats," Kotter added. "These homeless cats are the result of a failure in the community -- unneutered housecats that wandered away from home, cats abandoned when the family moved, or cats that have never been socialized to people in the first place. None of these cats would be on the streets if people had spayed or neutered their pets and kept their cats safe."

Kotter outlined some simple steps to help homeless cats:
"You can get involved as much, or as little as your schedule and budget permit. Don't underestimate what seems like a small contribution to the cause: many people doing little things add up to major accomplishments," she said.
If you feed stray cats, spay and neuter them so that the breeding cycle is stopped. Keep your own cats from becoming statistics. Have them live in the home. Get them spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you want your cat to have outside experiences, please consider screening-in a porch or patio, building a cattery, investing in special cat fencing, and/or teaching your cat to walk on a harness. Support your local community trap/neuter/return (TNR) groups. Donate -- even small amounts add up. Volunteer a couple of hours a month. Become a caregiver for a local cat colony. Foster adoptable kittens or lost housecats rescued during TNR operations.

"Best Friends believes the solutions for these cats rest with the community as well. Through a variety of strategies, people have the power to help the cats lead a humane life as well as reducing the number of cats who are eking out an existence on the streets," Kotter said.

"We like to think that every day is 'community cat day.' We are working with communities across the country on innovative and proactive programs to help lessen the numbers of feral and stray cats euthanized in shelters.

"Through our work, several rural Iowa communities have embraced TNR programs, fostering and re-homing kittens and tame cats rescued from colonies. If the cats are in a place where they are at risk, the people in these towns follow strict relocation protocols to provide the cats a new home," Kotter said.

Other successful components of Best Friends Focus on Felines program includes:

Four Directions Community Cat Program (southern Utah)

This unique program works with more than 38 urban and rural communities in southern Utah. Best Friends' clinic as well as five veterinary clinics around southern Utah participate in this low cost spay/neuter program. The program has six new relocation colonies that re-home feral cats that otherwise would have been euthanized.

FixNation (Los Angeles)
Best Friends works in Los Angeles with FixNation, a nonprofit clinic that cares mainly for feral and stray cats but also operates as a low cost spay/neuter clinic. The first of its kind in the United States, the ground-breaking clinic leads the way as a model for community cat clinics around the country. The clinic works with local groups and individuals to battle cat overpopulation, providing free spay/neuter services for feral and stray cats, as well as shots and health checks. In addition, FixNation and Best Friends work together to lower the shelter euthanasia rates in East Valley, an impoverished area of Los Angeles. The program targets East Valley residents, offering TNR as an alternative to trap and kill. In the first year of the program, estimates are that East Valley shelter cat intake statistics will be reduced by five percent.

First Coast No More Homeless Pets (Jacksonville, Florida)

The killing of community cats has ended in Jacksonville.

The Feral Freedom Program is a collaboration between the city of Jacksonville, First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP), the Jacksonville Humane Society and Best Friends Animal Society. Cats who arrive at the shelter in traps are turned over to FCNMHP to be spayed/neutered, then returned to their original trap location. Other communities are adopting this program as a way to save lives and taxpayer dollars.

No More Homeless Pets (northern Utah)
NMHP Utah and Best Friends work together with local governments to improve the shelter systems in northern Utah using tax dollars to combat the over population of community cats.

Mountville, PA (PRWEB) March 2, 2010

Clipper Magazine has just launched a new, free savings app for the iPhone. The Coupon Clipper app literally puts the savings power of America’s best local direct mail advertising in the palm of the mobile user’s hand.

Designed specifically with consumers’ hectic lifestyles in mind, the savings app provides instant coupons (http://clippermagazine. com/iPhone) and an easy-to-use interface for maximum convenience. With Coupon Clipper App, users can access over 50,000 offers from businesses nationwide where they eat, shop and play. Built-in GPS allows users to quickly find local savings wherever they may be and to plot locations using Google Maps.

Clipper Magazine (http://clippermagazine. com) Co-Founder and COO Ian Ruzow asserts, “Coupon Clipper app offers fast, free savings in consumers’ most popular shopping categories, including groceries from major manufacturers. It offers all the benefits of coupons without the need to plan ahead, clip, organize or keep track of expiration dates. It also allows consumers to enjoy savings while away from home.”

The savings (http://clippermagazine. com/iPhone) app makes finding relevant coupons simple. Users can locate coupons via city and state, auto locate or by favorites. Some featured search-by shopping categories include restaurants, health and beauty, medical and dental, retail, professional services and automotive services.

The application has great benefits for advertisers, as well. Ruzow comments, “The Coupon Clipper app provides a great opportunity for advertisers to ‘interact’ with hard-to-reach consumers who are constantly on the go. They also benefit from the extra exposure the app gives their offers and from being able to gauge the success of those offers with daily redemption reports.” The application is powered by couponclipper. com (http://www. couponclipper. com), the on-line local coupon search site Clipper introduced last year.

Founded in 1983, Clipper Magazine has grown from a single local, four-page campus advertising (http://clippermagazine. com/localadvertising. cfm) publication to over 500 local direct mail editions in 31 states. Mailed seven times annually (and more in selected markets), Clipper Magazine reaches roughly 35 million American homes with full-color ads featuring money saving offers. In addition to couponclipper. com, Clipper Magazine operates subsidiaries including The Menu Company, Loyal Customer Club, Spencer Advertising & Marketing, Clipper Web Development, and Total Loyalty Solutions.

Your Children Are Building Friendships Online, Are You Prepared?

Your Children Are Building Friendships Online, Are You Prepared?

Whether they are on the school campus or online, the relationships our kids build today are the foundation of those to come.  As parents it is our responsibility to have boundaries in place to appropriately guide our children in this natural phase of development.

Yucaipa, CA (PRWEB) December 4, 2008

More and more teens are flocking towards cyber hangouts like Myspace, Facebook, Friendster and countless others to mingle with their friends and keep up to date with the latest happenings.  While more teens flock to their computers parents are facing a new challenge in teen behavior and how they are developing relationships.

That's why the publishers of Unique Parenting are proud to offer 'Online Safety - A Parent & Teen Contract for Myspace or Facebook.' (http://www. uniqueparenting. com/online-safety. html (http://www. uniqueparenting. com/online-safety. html)) It is a downloadable contract for parents and teens designed to clearly state expectations and place teens in a position of accountability for their actions online.

"When my daughter first came home and said she wanted a Myspace account I was immediately against it," Michedolene explained, "for me it was a matter of unmonitored interaction."

In the confines of their rooms, parked in front of their computers, teens are exploring dating, academic disciplines and peer approval.  With the growing popularity of cyber-hangouts parents find themselves in a middle position of either denying their teens the online interaction or allowing the interaction while hoping to properly guide their kids.

Michedolene Hogan, publisher of Unique Parenting, was one of those parents.  She shares her story of how her 15-year-old daughter found herself involved in an inappropriate cyber-relationship in her article, When Your Kid's Safety Online Becomes Necessary will You be Prepared? (http://www. uniqueparenting. com/kids-safety-online. html (http://www. uniqueparenting. com/kids-safety-online. html)) It was this story that motivated her to have a better method in place to ensure her children's safety and accountability.

In her efforts to ensure her teen was personally responsible for her actions online, she sat down and evaluated her primary concerns with cyber hangouts and what she believed to be the best solution.  Michedolene stated, "I wasn't concerned with the typical internet safety precautions, rather with the type of relationships that were being built.  That's why I put together Online Safety - A Parent & Teen Contract for Myspace or Facebook."

The contract places an emphasis on the teens' responsibilities in how they conduct themselves online.  A teen signing this contract acknowledges, "As a teen interested in having access to a Myspace/Facebook account I am aware there are guidelines that need to be in place in order for my parents to remain actively involved in my life."

A Parent & Teen Contract for Myspace or Facebook focuses on the choices made before and during interactions with peers in the same manner face to face interactions take place.  "As parents it is our responsibility to guide our children as they learn proper development of relationships," shares Michedolene.

It is for this reason that Unique Parenting is proud to announce that this contract is available FREE to print and use by all parents looking for a solid way to establish ground rules where teens are accountable for their choices up front.  Be sure to visit http://www. uniqueparenting. com/online-safety. html (http://www. uniqueparenting. com/online-safety. html) to print your copy of Online Safety - A Parent & Teen Contract for Myspace or Facebook.

About Michedolene Hogan:

After witnessing the decline in family values she began diligently studying to understand what her children were up against in the world around them and how she could maintain strong family values.  Michedolene dedicated her time to understanding the role parents play in strong families and the importance of a healthy relationship between both parents.  She is the publisher and co-author of Unique Parenting, a site that offers support and information to other parents seeking a unique, affective and God centered approach to building strong families.

‘Tis The Season to Avoid Foot Follies: Tips to Keep You on Your Feet

‘Tis The Season to Avoid Foot Follies: Tips to Keep You on Your Feet

Taking precautions with footwear choices, properly moisturizing can soothe holiday soles.

Bethesda, MD (Vocus) December 15, 2008

While the month of December gives many an extra boost of holiday cheer, the same winter weather that puts revelers in the festive spirit of the season can also take a fierce toll on their feet.

“Foot ailments caused by snowy and icy conditions, as well as those caused by wearing improper footwear, are just several of the common winter injuries podiatric physicians commonly see and treat during the winter months,” said Dr. Ross Taubman, president of the American Podiatric Medical Association. “But there are several steps that can always be taken to drastically reduce incidences of these kinds of ailments.”

The following helpful tips from APMA will help to keep you on your feet during the holiday season:

Avoid aches. Determined shoppers spend long hours navigating cramped, crowded shopping malls and department stores searching for the perfect gift. A long day of holiday shopping can often leave feet suffering from foot problems such as blisters and sore arches. To help ease stiffness and pain, stretch and massage feet to release tension, increase circulation and rejuvenate skin. To combat swelling in the legs and feet, elevate legs above heart level while lying down after a long day.

Soothe dry skin. With chilly winter weather often comes dry air, which leads to cracked, dry skin. A 2008 APMA survey found that 56 percent of women always or frequently suffer from skin that is dry, rough, cracked or irritated. Properly moisturizing feet with a hydrating lotion such as AmLactin, which holds the APMA Seal of Approval, will help to repair dry feet and promote softer, smoother skin.

Select smart footwear. Wearing the right type of footwear for weather conditions is imperative to avoiding foot and ankle sprains, breaks, blisters and more. While women attending holiday parties may feel obligated to wear high heels, always bring a pair of sensible winter shoes to wear to and from get-togethers, and remember to keep high heel height limited to two inches or less. When donning boots, consumers should always make sure they feature an adequate amount of tread – which will help to reduce slippage from icy terrain. Additionally, purchasing a pair of boots made with leather or natural fibers will help to absorb moisture and keep feet dry and odor-free. Those suffering from diabetes or other conditions that cause decreased circulation should take extra care to keep feet well-insulated during the winter to avoid frostbite, including wearing socks made with a poly-cotton blend, even when indoors.

If you experience a foot or ankle injury, immediate treatment should be sought from an APMA podiatric physician. To find one in your area, visit www. apma. org/findapodiatrist (http://www. apma. org/findapodiatrist).

Founded in 1912, the American Podiatric Medical Association is the nation's leading professional society for foot and ankle specialists. The association has component societies in 53 locations in the U. S. and its territories and a membership of close to 11,500 doctors of podiatric medicine. Online Petition Hopes to Make PCOS a Known Acronym

Online Petition Hopes to Make PCOS a Known Acronym

Although up to 10% of women worldwide have PCOS or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, less than half know they have it. However, an online petition aims to change the visibility, awareness and treatment for polycystic ovary syndrome.

Glassboro, NJ (PRWEB) April 27, 2006

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), is a complex hormonal disorder for which there is no cure. If left untreated PCOS can be a precursor to many life threatening conditions including type II diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, stroke and kidney problems. This means PCOS contributes to some of the leading causes of death and disability in women today.

Realizing real change has to come from more awareness, exposure and education for PCOS(Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), a petition drafted by a PCOS Awareness Advocate is now online. For many PCOS Awareness plays a key role in helping them learn to live and deal with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and ultimately live a healthier life. Many feel PCOS Awareness has to happen now to ensure women and girls do not have to go through another day, month or year of silent suffering and to ensure they are educated on how to live a healthier life with this syndrome.

What PCOS is, and what it does to women who have it, is complicated to explain as symptoms and severity of the syndrome can vary from person to person. Some of the classic symptoms are drastic weight gain, hair loss, depression, fatigue, thyroid problems, high cholesterol, panic attacks, headaches, dizzy spells, poor memory or muddled mind, sleeping disorders, constant thirst, extreme cravings, insulin resistance, cystic acne, cystic ovaries, anovulatory menstrual cycles (cycles without ovulation), irregular cycles, severe mood swings, high testosterone levels, infertility problems, excess facial and body hair, not to mention an increased risk for four major health concerns affecting women in the United States today.

One of the most common risks associated with PCOS is Diabetes. In many cases the insulin resistance causes women with PCOS to become overweight or obese, which in turn raises cholesterol and blood pressure putting a woman with PCOS at seven times the greater risk as a normal woman to have hypertension, a heart attack or a stroke.

Infertility is yet another condition many women with PCOS face. PCOS is the number cause of infertility in American women today. A woman with PCOS may have irregular cycles, non-exsistant cycles or in many cases cycles without ovulation. These factors make achieving pregnancy a daunting task for many and may lead to conditions such as miscarriage and early ovarian failure.

PCOS can even increase a woman's risk for endometrial cancer. Women with PCOS can go months without having a menstrual cycle and when women do not ovulate on a regular basis, the lining of their uterine wall becomes very thick and vulnerable. This increases the chance for endometrial cancer and hysterectomy of the utereus and ovaries.

So, why is PCOS so difficult to diagnose and where is the awareness for this serious condition?

Part of the problem, then and now, is that the PCOS symptoms manifest themselves in different ways. In fact, not all affected women have polycystic ovaries. Women with PCOS can have any combination of symptoms of varying severity. As a result, researchers, doctors and women themselves looked at the symptoms individually rather than collectively.

The PCOS Treatment and Awareness Petition plans to empower the PCOS Community to speak very openly about their struggles, symptoms, and trials to overcome the illness, to help other women and girls understand the syndrome and seek the proper resources to help them manage their lives with PCOS. It hopes to be a driving force in changing the way the public, media and government view PCOS education, treatment and coverage for medical procedures, as a result of PCOS.
