Wives with Cheating Husbands Can Gain the Upper Hand

Wives with Cheating Husbands Can Gain the Upper Hand

Infidelity expert tells wives with cheating husbands how to work quietly behind the scenes to gain the upper hand and make the best of a bad situation.

(PRWEB) February 22, 2005

“Most wives with cheating husbands simply suffer in silence or tolerate their husband’s infidelity”. says Ruth Houston, infidelity expert and author of Is He Cheating on You? – 829 Telltale Signs. “They feel they have no other alternatives, or don’t know what else to do.”

“You don’t have to sit back and be a helpless victim,” says Houston, whose website www. InfidelityAdvice. com provides practical advice for victims of infidelity. “There are things you can do to make the best of a bad situation and minimize the damage infidelity can cause.”

Houston urges wives with cheating husbands to take steps to protect themselves emotionally, sexually, legally and financially. She counsels them to work quietly behind the scenes to offset many of the negative consequences that result from infidelity.”

Take control of the situation,” advises Houston. “Whether you stay with your husband or leave him, the guidelines below will help you gain the upper hand.”

Make sure infidelity is the problem youÂ’re dealing with.

Problems like drug or alcohol addiction or gambling often masquerade as infidelity because of similar telltale signs. DonÂ’t speculate, investigate. If you need to get solid proof of infidelity without spending a lot of time or money, a book like Is He Cheating on You? (Lifestyle Publilcations $29.95, ISBN 0-9720553-4-7) which lists practically every known sign of infidelity will help you find out for sure.

Face reality.

Ignoring your husbandÂ’s infidelity will not make it go away. It will only make things worse. He could become so attached to his mistress that it will be impossible to get your marriage back on track.

Speak up and take a stand.

If you know heÂ’s cheating and say nothing about it, you're enabling his infidelity. Make it clear that you disapprove of what's going on and tell him you want it to stop. Not addressing his infidelity makes him think he has your silent approval or that you donÂ’t know whatÂ’s going on.

Let him know you know.

Affairs thrive in secrecy. If youÂ’ve identified numerous telltale signs and have solid proof of your husbandÂ’s infidelity, decide when and how to tell him you know about his affair. Sometimes just knowing his infidelity has been exposed will be enough to make him stop.

Build a support team.

You need someone to confide in about your husbandÂ’s infidelity. DonÂ’t try to get through this alone. Surround yourself with people who care about you and have your best interests at heart.

Realistically evaluate your situation.

Consider your options. Is your marriage worth saving? Should you get a temporary separation? File for divorce? What is it in your (and your childrenÂ’s) best interest to do?

Seek counseling for yourself and for your marriage.

You have a better chance of saving your marriage if you get professional help. YouÂ’ll be better equipped to deal with the trauma of infidelity if you seek individual counseling, as well.

Identify the underlying issues.

Try to pinpoint the contributing factors to his infidelity - A life crisis? Major character flaws? Sexual addiction? Dissatisfaction with you or with the marriage? Or something else? Get to the root of the problem, if you can.

Protect yourself sexually.

Your husbandÂ’s infidelity can have life-threatening consequences for you. If heÂ’s cheating, your health is at risk. YouÂ’re already a victim of infidelity. DonÂ’t become a victim of HIV/AIDS too.

Find out your legal rights.

Consult an attorney who specializes in matrimonial law. Get a clear understanding of what you're legally entitled to (alimony, child support, division of marital assets) in the event of a divorce or separation.

Put your financial house in order.

Get a realistic view of your current financial situation and make the necessary adjustments. Establish credit in your own name. Set up a separate checking or savings account. Start putting money aside for a rainy day.

Make sure youÂ’re equipped to earn a living.

Many women remain in adulterous relationships because theyÂ’re financially dependant on their husbands. If you need to, take college courses or start learning a trade to make yourself employable.

Prepare yourself mentally and emotionally.

Accept the possibility that your marriage may end. Don’t be caught off guard. Have an “Infidelity Game Plan” in place in case your husband decides to move out or ask for a divorce. Begin formulating your strategy now.

Break free of the bonds of infidelity. Focus your energy and efforts on the positive things you can do to make the best of a bad situation. Empower yourself by acting on these suggestions and youÂ’ll gain the upper hand.

Canidae Announces Two New Grain Free Formulas and a Fresh, Pure Packaging Design for its Grain Free Line

Canidae Announces Two New Grain Free Formulas and a Fresh, Pure Packaging Design for its Grain Free Line

Canidae Natural Pet Food Company will introduce two new grain free formulas for dogs and debut a fresh, pure packaging design for its entire grain free line beginning in Q1 2011.

San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) December 15, 2010

Canidae Pet Foods announced today the launch of two new grain free dry formulas for dogs. Canidae Grain Free pureSKY™ and Canidae Grain Free pureLAND™ will both be available in the first quarter of 2011. The launch of these products will coincide with the company's introduction of fresh packaging for its existing grain free line of dog and cat food which includes four meat-based diets, two for canines and two for felines. The ingredients and the products themselves will remain unchanged.

New Canidae Grain Free pureSKY™ offers dog owners a canine diet that contains fresh duck combined with protein-rich turkey meal. Similarly, the company's new Canidae Grain Free pureLAND™ is made with fresh bison as its first ingredient, followed by protein-rich lamb meal.

Innovative packaging with a fresh, pure look has been designed for these two new products, as well as for the original Canidae grain free foods. When asked why the company is changing its grain free packaging, Frank Hon, Director of Operations for Canidae replied, "We wanted to honor the high quality ingredients we put into every bag by creating a look that was pure and elegant. This innovative design will better communicate our message of superior grain free nutrition and make these products more attractive on the retail shelf."

As fresh packaging arrives in the marketplace, consumers can expect to see new names for Canidae's original formulas. Canidae Grain Free All Life Stages will become Canidae pureELEMENTS™ and Canidae Grain Free Salmon will become Canidae pureSEA™. "We want to stress to our loyal consumers that while they will soon see a beautiful new package at their local independent pet food store, we have not changed a single ingredient in any of our existing grain free formulas for dogs or cats. We just wanted our bags to be as great as what's inside!" said Hon.

The company's two existing grain free feline diets will also receive fresh packaging and new names. Felidae Grain Free Cat and Kitten formula will become Felidae pureELEMENTS™ while Felidae Grain Free Salmon formula will become Felidae pureSEA™. The new Felidae grain free packaging changes will arrive at retailers immediately after the Canidae grain free packaging changes in early 2011.

Following the introduction of new dry formula packaging for Canidae Grain Free for dogs and Felidae Grain Free for cats, the company will unveil a similar look for its grain free canned products.

As with all the company's products, Canidae's grain free formulas are natural, holistic, and feature Canidae's balanced blend of Omega fatty acids, which supports shiny coats and healthy skin. Embargoed Until Monday, July 21 at 5 p. m. EST; Scientists Figure Out How the Immune System and Brain Communicate to Control Disease

In a major step in understanding how the nervous system and the immune system interact, scientists at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research have identified a new anatomical path through which the brain and the spleen communicate.

Manhasset, NY (Vocus) July 21, 2008

In a major step in understanding how the nervous system and the immune system interact, scientists at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research have identified a new anatomical path through which the brain and the spleen communicate.

The spleen, once thought to be an unnecessary bit of tissue, is now regarded as an organ where important information from the nervous reaches the immune system. Understanding this process could ultimately lead to treatments that target the spleen to send the right message when fighting human disease.

Mauricio Rosas-Ballina, MD, working with colleagues in the laboratory of Kevin J. Tracey, MD, figured out that macrophages in the spleen were making tumor necrosis factor, a powerful inflammation-producing molecule. When they stimulated the vagus nerve, a long nerve that goes from the base of the brain into thoracic and abdominal organs, tumor necrosis factor (TNF) production in the spleen decreased. This study complements previous research performed in Dr. Tracey's laboratory, which showed that stimulation of the vagus nerve increases survival in laboratory models of sepsis.

The findings were published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Many laboratories at The Feinstein Institute study the immune system in health and in disease. Every year, about 500,000 people develop severe sepsis, a syndrome triggered when the body's immune system wages an attack on the body that is well beyond its normal response to an invader. Sepsis kills about 225,000 deaths in the United States each year.

A hundred years ago, the spleen (located in the upper quadrant of the abdomen) was thought to be only reservoir for blood. It has only been in recent years that scientists discovered that the spleen is a manufacturing plant for immune cells, and a site where immune cells and nerves interact. The spleen defends the body against infection, particularly encapsulated bacteria that circulate through the blood.

The hope is to modulate other immune functions like antibody production through the spleen (via vagus nerve stimulation) as a way to modify the course of infections and possibly some autoimmune disorders.

Dr. Rosas-Ballina began following the winding path of the vagus nerve to establish the route it follows to reach the spleen. He was trying, without much luck, to find fibers of the vagus nerve in this organ. And then he went a little further south to the splenic nerve, the nerve that innervates the spleen. Their results indicate that the vagus nerve inherently communicates with the splenic nerve to suppress TNF production by macrophages in the spleen.

According to the prevailing paradigm, the autonomic nervous system is anatomically and functionally divided in sympathetic and parasympathetic branches, which act in opposition to regulate organ function.

"The division between the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems is not clear cut," said Dr. Rosas-Ballina, explaining that the vagus nerve (the major parasympathetic nerve) acts through the splenic nerve to modulate immune function.

He said that results of this study suggest that there may be two separate ways the brain communicates with the spleen to regulate immune function. This points the way to a possible solution for treating sepsis. It may be more effective to take advantage of the central nervous system to control cells of the spleen. This way, "you know where the treatment is going," said Dr. Rosas-Ballina.

New Acne Research Reveals The One Reason: Why Most Acne Solutions Just Don't Work

New Acne Research Reveals The One Reason: Why Most Acne Solutions Just Don't Work

Scientific Response, LLC, a marketer of skin products and acne medications, has announced a true breakthrough product, with proven results in the battle against acne.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 12, 2005

If you suffer from the plague of acne, there finally is hope. Scientific Response, LLC, a marketer of skin products and acne medications, has announced a true breakthrough product, with proven results in the battle against acne.

Current research has shown that the general cause of acne is not some "wrong" behavior on the part of consumers. Contrary to popular belief, a change in diet or a major lifestyle change, are not necessary in order to fight acne.

Acne strikes more than 17 million individuals (mostly teen-agers), making it the most common US skin disease. The National Institute Of Health reports, "People of all races and ages get acne. It is most common in adolescents and young adults. Nearly 85 percent of people between the ages of 12 and 24 develop the disorder."

Add in society's overwhelming pressure to look like a perfect God or Goddess, and you have the makings of a multi-billion-dollar industry. Problem is, all that money has attracted a lot of opportunists who have churned out products that are often not scientifically based, products that seldom work. And even the ones that do work seem to lose their effectiveness over time.

Scientific Response has changed that with a remarkable new product called Clear For Good.

Extensive Research Has Proven That Clear For Good With Its

3-Active–Ingredients Is The One Treatment That Gets Rid Of Acne, in the most effective way And Keeps It From Coming Back -- For Good.

The program is designed by leading dermatologists, and plastic surgeons.

Clear For Good:

1. Eliminates or dissolves abnormal clumping of cells in the follicles

2. Reduces the skin's increased oil production

3. Kills harmful bacteria

4. Reduces inflammation, swelling, or excessive irritation.

If only one active ingredient is used, then, as shown by current technology and research, it is impossible to be effective on all the above fronts... and your results are likely to be poor, or at least not nearly as good as they could be.

On the other hand, Clear For Good has not just one -- but three active ingredients approved for treating acne. These medications will immediately begin working to get rid of acne, smooth your skin, and prevent acne from coming back. And most important…

Not only does it get rid of your acne – Clear For Good keeps it from coming back

Tell that to any acne sufferer and watch their reaction. The idea of never having to deal with acne again? That’s what they’ve always dreamed of…and now Scientific Response has come up with the answer to that dream. Clear For Good is not just going to get rid of acne – it’s going to change many people’s lives.

City of Lake Forest Wins Case Prohibiting Illegal Marijuana Stores; Judge Affirms City’s Right to Enforce Land Use and Zoning Decisions

City of Lake Forest Wins Case Prohibiting Illegal Marijuana Stores; Judge Affirms City’s Right to Enforce Land Use and Zoning Decisions

In 1996, California voters passed the Compassionate Use Act, which allowed patients under doctor's care to obtain marijuana for personal use. Recently, marijuana stores have proliferated across the state creating a retail trade that is specifically prohibited by State and Federal Law. Because of crime and other nuisances created by these stores, many cities prohibit marijuana stores through their municipal code. Lake Forest sought to close 10 such stores. The trial court has affirmed the city's right to prohibit these stores. This has statewide implications as many California cities are struggling with ways to eliminate or limit the proliferation of marijuana stores.

Lake Forest, CA (PRWEB) May 13, 2010

Orange County Superior Court Judge David Chaffee granted the City of Lake Forest a preliminary injunction to close ten marijuana stores which are operating illegally in the city (Case No: 30-2009-00298887-CU-MC-CJC Superior Court of California, County of Orange). In his ruling, Judge Chaffee found that marijuana stores operating in Lake Forest are a public nuisance as they are in direct violation of land use regulations per the Lake Forest Municipal Code. Judge Chaffee further stated that it is illegal for cities to pass regulations that allow businesses to violate state or federal law, per Government Code Section 37100. This directly applies to marijuana stores since the Controlled Substances Act classifies marijuana as a Schedule I “controlled substance” and prohibits the use of this drug for any purpose.

Judge Chaffee’s ruling makes it clear that it is illegal for Lake Forest to enact zoning ordinances or other land use regulations that permit activities or businesses that violate federal or state law – including marijuana stores, medical marijuana dispensaries and storefront collectives. If the ruling is appealed, and a court of appeal upholds the ruling, it would be precedent setting for other cities in California.

“We’re very pleased the courts have ruled in our favor. This entire case was about the city’s right to enforce its zoning ordinance on behalf of the people of Lake Forest,” said Mayor Peter Herzog. “This sends a clear message to marijuana store operators and commercial property owners that these activities are illegal and will not be tolerated in the community, and any future operations like the ones in existence today will be immediately closed.”

According to Lake Forest’s litigation attorney Jeffery Dunn, “The big story in all this is that Lake Forest is allowed to enforce its land use plan and this ability is not superseded by the Compassionate Use Act, consistent with a recent State of California 2nd District Appellate court decision (City of Claremont v. Kruse). We have prepared a proposed order to be signed by Judge Chaffee calling for the immediate closure of all marijuana stores in the city.”

The ruling grants the City’s motion for preliminary injunction to close 215 Agenda (now operating as Bulzi RX), Lake Forest Community Collective, Vale Tudo Café, Lake Forest Wellness Center and Collective, GGECO (now operating as Care Mutual), Earth Cann, New Amsterdam, The Health Collective, Lake Forest Patients Collective Association and Orange County Independent Collective. The closure of these stores will also put an end to associated health and safety issues, referred to as secondary effects.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department - Special Investigations Bureau Lieutenant Adam Powell said, “We’ve consistently seen the adverse effects of marijuana storefronts throughout Orange County and the City of Lake Forest. These include robberies, burglaries, drug dealing, money laundering, and firearms violations. In addition, a community’s quality of life is negatively affected by loitering, increased traffic, noise, and use of medical marijuana at or near the facilities.”

This ruling comes on the heels of the April 30 ruling by Federal Judge Andrew Guilford denying a preliminary injunction seeking to prevent Lake Forest from shutting down marijuana stores. In that case, the Plaintiffs unsuccessfully argued that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) gives disabled citizens a federally protected right to use medical marijuana. The Court found that the ADA does not apply because marijuana is a Schedule I controlled substance and under the Controlled Substances Act, it currently has no medical purpose.

The City has taken no position relative to the use of marijuana for personal medical use by seriously ill individuals where the medical use is deemed appropriate by a physician.

The City of Lake Forest, California, a suburban community of 78,000 located in south Orange County. Police Services are provided, via contract, by the Orange County Sheriff's Department. A copy of Judge Chaffee’s ruling is available at www. lakeforestca. gov/ChaffeeRuling (http://www. lakeforestca. gov/ChaffeeRuling).

BioEDEN Tooth Stem Cell Banking Service Now Available in Canada

BioEDEN Tooth Stem Cell Banking Service Now Available in Canada

BioEDEN -- the first fully operational processing laboratory and storage bank for primary tooth stem cells in the world--is now able to offer their services to Canada

Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 26, 2006

With world health care moving toward personalized medicine where treatment is customized for each individual, the use of stem cells (http://www. bioeden. com/stemcells. php) found in children's primary teeth is a significant step forward. These cells are a viable, ethical, and morally non-controversial alternative to the possibilities offered by embryonic stem cells. At the forefront of this new technology, BioEDEN is the first tooth cell bank in the world to offer cellular isolation and storage services for these valuable tooth cells.

According to President Jeff Johnson, "Public interest in primary tooth stem cells is growing not only locally, but globally. As a private laboratory registered with the FDA, we maintain high standards required for FDA oversight. After a recent FDA review, we are now approved to accept teeth from our neighbors in Canada.

"A primary consideration in the use of tooth cell storage is the cost. At less than 1/3 the cost of cord blood storage, banking a child's primary tooth stem cells not only provides a guaranteed matching donor for life, it is simple and painless for both the child and parent, and it preserves the cells before natural damage occurs. There are only twelve teeth that contain these promising cells, and cell viability – determined by when a tooth is expelled -- reduces the longer a loose tooth remains in the mouth. A tooth collected shortly after it becomes loose is most viable, and is critical that we receive a tooth quickly after it falls out."

BioEDEN isolates and stores tooth cells, and returns them to the original donor if they are ever needed. Unlike cord blood banking, which is public, BioEDEN's customers are only given their own cells. This autologous banking system eliminates worry about communicable diseases, tissue rejection, or immunosuppressive therapy, and will contribute to successful therapies where it is imperative that the source of the stem cells be compatible with the recipient. BioEDEN also leads the industry in offering a complete guarantee.

FishHawk Ranch Named 2010 Development of the Year for Green Efforts

FishHawk Ranch, by Newland Communities, is proud to announce that it has been named the 2010 Development of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This national Award underscores the community's commitment to sustainability.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) May 21, 2010

FishHawk Ranch, by Newland Communities, is proud to announce that it has been named the 2010 Development of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This prestigious award exemplifies Newland Communities' dedication to creating sustainable, livable communities.

This industry honor recognizes projects for sustainable practices limiting the impact of the development to the land. FishHawk Ranch has numerous systems, practices and policies in place including the preservation of ecosystems and sophistication circulation designs in its utility systems. More specifically, it has preserved/provided aquifer recharge areas in uplands and ensured that nearly all streets are lined with native trees. In 2009, FishHawk Ranch became Tampa's first residential community to be certified green by the Florida Green Building Coalition.

"It is our philosophy that true sustainability is conceived in the planning stages of development," said Rick Harcrow, senior VP of operations for Newland Communities. "Being recognized by the NAHB really reinforces that we are continuously striving to create enduring communities."

Implemented many years ago, the Newland "Healthy Living Systems" philosophy continues to lay the foundation for new, sustainable communities across the state and country. Newland believes green means you must constantly challenge the status quo, inside and outside of the industry, to establish innovative best practices that improve its residents' quality of life, studying environmental impact at the community level, before, during and post-construction.

"This development is a great example of green building done right while also done beautifully," said Eric Borsting, chair of the NAHB Green Building subcommittee. "This should be an example for builders and developers everywhere to look to when constructing energy-efficient and earth-friendly housing in their own communities and developments."

Utility Implements Durable Bar Code Asset Tags to Improve Asset Management

Utility Implements Durable Bar Code Asset Tags to Improve Asset Management

Gas, Power & Utility Companies are adopting durable bar code asset tags to track assets such as gas meters for as long as 30 years.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) June 27, 2007

Utilities are replacing manual data collection with durable bar code asset tags, according to a new whitepaper from Cleveland based Camcode.

The whitepaper looks at one major gas company's experience implementing bar code asset tracking of meters on as many as 30,000 meters per year. The document discusses the improvements in efficiency and accuracy gained in their asset management system by using Camcode Durable Metalphoto® bar code asset tags (http://www. camcod. com/asset/fixed. asp).

Previous methods of asset tracking and monitoring equipment required a technician to manually key in a six-digit serial number each time new meters were taken into inventory, shipped out and installed, removed from service, or received and tested for accuracy. This extra step was prone to errors and slows down the process.

The subject gas company is looking forward to speedier deployment and installation of meters and improvements in tracking those assets. According to a company spokesman, "We expect efficiency and data accuracy to increase dramatically."

The durable asset tags whitepaper is available by completing the request form at: http://www. camcod. com/camcodemail/GIS_form. asp (http://www. camcod. com/camcodemail/GIS_form. asp)

Metalphoto® asset tags withstand abrasion, intense weather conditions, outdoor exposure, chemicals and solvents and remain readable for up to 30 years even under the harshest conditions. Barcoding virtually eliminates errors caused by manual data collection, ensuring accurate information and providing the efficiency to track assets system-wide more quickly and easily for greater productivity and reduced labor costs.

About Camcode: Camcod. com sells durable asset tags & barcode security labels at http://www. camcod. com/asset/fixed. asp (http://www. camcod. com/asset/fixed. asp). Slough’s older residents boost donations to Haiti earthquake appeal

Slough’s older residents boost donations to Haiti earthquake appeal

A generous donation by residents of an Extra Care housing estate in Slough will help support the Red Cross in providing food, water and healthcare to survivors of the Haiti earthquake.

(PRWeb UK) October 15, 2010

A generous donation by residents of an Extra Care housing estate in Slough will help support the Red Cross in providing food, water and healthcare to survivors of the Haiti earthquake.

Residents of the Pines, Hanover’s latest Extra Care development in Slough presented a cheque for £700 to regional coordinator Anne Huddart today, Thursday 13 July.
The Pines was developed by Hanover, a leading retirement housing provider, in partnership with Slough Borough Council.

The development is designed exclusively for older people. The Pines offers modern properties with state-of-the-art facilities as well as on-site ‘care on demand’ provided by Slough Borough Council.

Margaret Garnish, Treasurer of the Pines Residents’ Committee, said: “We were all very keen to help a worthy cause.

“I can’t remember who originally came up with the idea.” When I heard about the devastation caused by the earth quake we knew we had to help

“We decided the best way to raise the money was to hold a mini fete on the estate. Friends, neighbours and local businesses helped by donating cakes, arts and crafts items and lucky dips. There was even ice cream and burger vans on the day.

“Everyone pulled together on what proved to be a fantastic day.”

Ann Huddart, Red Cross Coordinator, said: “I enjoyed meeting the residents - it’s a lovely estate and a nice little community.

“On behalf of the Red Cross I would like to thank all of the residents for their generosity which will go along way to provide much needed support to the people of Haiti.”

Although the earthquake was 10 months ago and is no longer in the news, vital supplies and donations are still required if you would like any further information about how you can help please contact the Red Cross on 0844 87 100 87.

Extra Care
Extra Care is housing with access to an on-site 24-hour care team. It is NOT residential care.

Extra Care usually features the following facilities: restaurant, communal lounge, an on-site shop, hair salon, and guest rooms

The main benefits of Extra Care developments are that they:
Allow couples with differing care needs to remain living together   Residents have security of tenure – Hanover residents have an assured tenancy, enjoying the same legal housing rights as other housing association tenants. In some cases leases are offered enabling older people to purchase their properties.   A cost-effective and flexible option for older people with low to moderate domiciliary care needs (e. g. help around the home and personal care including help with dressing and washing) – as residents only pay for the care that they need.

Major US Health Insurer Promotes Thai Hospital to Its 1.3 Million Members

Major US Health Insurer Promotes Thai Hospital to Its 1.3 Million Members

Bumrungrad International hospital (www. bumrungrad. com), Thailand’s premier private medical center, and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina have formed an alliance to promote ‘medical tourism’ to its 1.3 million members.

Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) February 5, 2008

Bumrungrad International hospital (www. bumrungrad. com), Thailand’s premier private medical center, and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina have formed an alliance to promote ‘medical tourism’ to its 1.3 million members.

Through a subsidiary, Companion Global Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina will assist members interested in overseas medical treatment by providing information and access to Bumrungrad’s website (www. bumrungrad. com) and a US based contact center managed by World Access Inc., a leading travel insurance and international healthcare assistance company.

This alliance is a first between a major US healthcare insurer and Thai hospital and is expected to pave the way for more medical travel to Thailand. Increasingly, Americans are looking overseas for lower cost medical treatment, and this trend has been widely featured in news media and medical journals, like the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine.

David Boucher, Assistant V. P. of Healthcare Services for BlueCross South Carolina and a former hospital administrator, who spearheaded the project for BlueCross, visited Bumrungrad in July of last year after seeing the hospital featured on CBS 60 Minutes (http://www. bumrungrad. com/overseas-medical-care/About-Us/vdo. aspx) and reading about it in Time Magazine. After a four day inspection, he came away convinced that Bumrungrad was, as he put it, “a first rate medical center and a facility our organization could endorse to its members.”

Medical tourism continues to be a shining star for the Thai tourism industry, attracting ‘high-value’ tourists to the Kingdom that stay longer and spend more than other tourist categories. Ruben Toral, Bumrungrad’s Group Marketing Director, believes that medical tourism will eventually lead to medical outsourcing. “It’s inevitable,” he says. “Corporations and insurers alike are looking for new solutions to drive down the cost of healthcare, and we are part of the solution.” For more information, visit www. bumrungrad. com

About Bumrungrad International (http://www. bumrungrad. com/overseas-medical-care/about-us/overview. aspx)
