Electronic Security Systems Division today announces a partnership with Hie Electronics, Inc., manufacturer of the TeraStack® Solution, to provide green data storage (http://www. hie-electronics. com/optical_data_storage_systems. php) to enhance the video surveillance system in the City of Katowice’s multi-purpose arena complex, Spodek auditorium.
The “Spodek”, or saucer; includes a main dome, gym, ice rink, hotel and three large car parking areas. It is the largest indoor venue of its kind in Poland and hosts concerts, cultural, sports and business events.

Polish law requires videos from public facilities be stored for twelve months for security purposes. At the Katowice arena, more than 160 cameras record 25 frames per second plus audio, capturing up to 345 million frames of video surveillance data (http://www. hie-electronics. com/digital_video_surveillance_data_storage_solution. php) per day.
According to Noma2, the compact TeraStack® Solution offers quicker image and video retrieval for pre-recorded video data. A technical team from Noma2 received product training at the Texas headquarters of Hie Electronics in March.
