About Upper Cervical Care

Upper cervical care is a rapidly growing form of chiropractic that focuses on the intimate relationship between the first two bones in the neck, called the upper cervical spine, and a vital portion of the nervous system, known as the brain stem. This relationship is absolutely essential to the body’s ability to preserve and restore health. The brain stem is the control center that extends from the brain down through an opening in the base of your skull, making it vulnerable to injuries or irritation around the upper neck. The brain stem works very much like a telephone cable with thousands of individual wires or nerve fibers sending signals back and forth between the brain and spinal cord to every cell, organ and system in the body. Every nerve impulse between the brain and the body must pass through the brain stem.

The top two vertebrae, the Atlas and Axis are especially vulnerable to injury or misalignment because they are the most mobile segments of the spine. Misalignment here can produce nerve irritation to the brain stem, which in turn, can affect nearly all vital functions and systems in the body. If neglected, an upper cervical misalignment can lead to irreversible spinal degeneration, chronic ill health, and a shorter life expectancy.

Upper cervical misalignments can be caused by falls, auto accidents, sports, on-the-job injuries, concussions, physical or emotional stress, poor posture, and even birth trauma. If you have a health problem, the doctors in the Upper Cervical Health Centers of America network will strive to correct its cause, not just treat the symptoms.

International Barrier Technology Reports Record Annual Sales of Blazeguard® Fire Resistant Building Material

International Barrier Technology Reports Record Annual Sales of Blazeguard® Fire Resistant Building Material

International Barrier Technology Inc. (“Barrier”) (IBTGF: OTCBB, IBH: TSX-V), a provider of environmentally friendly fire resistant building materials, has released audited financial results for its fiscal year ending June 30, 2003.

Watkins, MN, Vancouver, BC, (PRWEB) November 20, 2003 -

International Barrier Technology Inc. (“Barrier”) (IBTGF: OTCBB, IBH: TSX-V), a provider of environmentally friendly fire resistant building materials, has released audited financial results for its fiscal year ending June 30, 2003.

Barrier reported fiscal year sales of $2,254,562, a 21.2% increase over the previous year and record high revenue from BarrierÂ’s fire resistant Blazeguard panels. Gross profit was up slightly to $487,570. The gross margin of 21.6% compares to 23.6% in fiscal 2002. Barrier realized a net income of $46,775, compared to a $317,041 net loss in the prior year. This is the first positive net income in BarrierÂ’s corporate history.

Corporate Milestones & Highlights

Sales – Multi-Family Dwellings: Total sales as measured by surface footage of product shipped increased to 2.11 million square feet from 1.77 million square feet, an increase of 19.1%. Sales into Florida increased 77%, or 394,100 square feet, after growing 11% the previous year. Barrier also achieved sales growth in new markets including Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. This growth was achieved through a key distributor, Lowe’s Companies, and the addition of a new distributor, Stock Building Supply, which focuses exclusively on professional builders.

New Applications and Markets: Barrier achieved an important milestone toward the commercialization of Blazeguard® in a valuable new market. This milestone was the successful completion of stringent fire and wind tests in June and, subsequent to the year end, July. The success of these tests enable Barrier’s commercial partner in this endeavor to have Class C and Class A rated roof deck assemblies labelled and listed by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL). There are notable unmet needs for these assemblies in the construction of factory-built commercial modular buildings, which are used for construction sites, education, healthcare and other uses. Blazeguard is the most important component of this assembly, and Barrier expects significant sales in this new market in 2004.

Technology and Patent Acquisition: In March, Barrier announced a letter of intent to acquire the Pyrotite technology and patents that are the basis of Blazeguard. The negotiation to complete a definitive agreement is in an advanced stage. Management is optimistic that a successful conclusion will be achieved. This would position Barrier to dramatically expand its business potential from the U. S. to global markets and eliminate royalty payments currently payable by the company.

“We achieved important financial milestones in F2003. I expect more builders to make Blazeguard their preferred fire-rated sheathing, leading to further sales growth in the multi-family dwelling market in F2004,” said Dr. Michael Huddy, Barrier’s president. “In addition, the Blazeguard-based roof deck assembly for modular buildings provides competitive positioning in our first entry into a commercial market. I look forward to notable sales growth in this area. Barrier has never been so well positioned for expanding corporate development and growth.”

Autumn Proofing Your Skin: Leading Dermatologist Dr. Joshua Fox on Skin Problems, Solutions as Season Changes

Autumn Proofing Your Skin: Leading Dermatologist Dr. Joshua Fox on Skin Problems, Solutions as Season Changes

Joshua Fox, MD, a leading dermatologist, founder of Advanced Dermatology and a spokesperson for the American Academy of Dermatology: As summer turns to autumn and the green leaves turn red, yellow and orange, your skin also changes with the season. During the fall, the skin needs extra nourishment and protection. Three things that everyone should do to protect their skin in the autumn include drinking lots of water to remain hydrated, applying moisturizer before going outside to give it time to be absorbed and, importantly, continuing to use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15.

New Hyde Park, NY (PRWEB) September 5, 2009

As summer turns to autumn and the green leaves turn red, yellow and orange, your skin also changes with the season, says Joshua Fox, MD, a leading dermatologist, founder of Advanced Dermatology and a spokesperson for the American Academy of Dermatology.

While the autumn weather may encourage outdoor activities, your skin will retain less moisture because of the cooler, drier air. The same happens indoors as the heat goes on and up. Key symptoms of "autumn skin" include dryness, fine lines, dull and sallow skin tone, sun and age spots, flaking and irritation as well as the flare-up of some chronic conditions. "Your skin can remain beautiful and glowing, however, if you treat it correctly and make some minor adjustments to your beauty regime to account for the change of seasons," Dr. Fox says.

During the fall, the skin needs extra nourishment and protection. "Three things that everyone should do to protect their skin in the autumn include drinking lots of water to remain hydrated, applying moisturizer before going outside to give it time to be absorbed and, importantly, continuing to use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15," Dr. Fox says.

"Autumn presents special challenges to the face, body, hands, nails and feet," he adds, explaining the specific issues facing each body part and offering tips for improving your skin's appearance in the fall.

Face/Head: Despite the waning sun, it is still important to use sunscreen in autumn. Moisturizing is more important than ever, regardless of skin type. In fact, even oily skin needs a moisturizer. People with seborrhea, or dandruff, may experience autumn flare-ups. This chronic inflammatory skin disorder is more common in men than women and affects up to three percent of the population. It can be controlled by washing with special soapsand shampoos or topical steroids. If seborrhea does not improve or worsens, a dermatologist can provide additional treatments.

Body/Trunk: Moisturizer that is applied when the body is slightly damp after bathing is one of the most important things we can do to improve the condition and feel of our skin, Dr. Fox says. A body oil or cream should be applied over the whole body, concentrating on rough spots including the elbows, knees and feet. Moisturizers with an alpha hydroxy acid help exfoliate the skin's outermost layer. Exercise is also a good moisturizer, as sweat provides a natural way of releasing toxins.

Some people may experience a flare-up of conditions such as psoriasis or eczema/atopic dermatitis in the fall. Psoriasis is a chronic disease of the immune system that appears on the skin, usually in the form of thick, red, scaly patches. According to the National Institutes of Health, up to 7.5 million Americans have psoriasis. There are many over-the-counter and prescription treatments for psoriasis. Your doctor can help you find the right one. Atopic dermatitis, or eczema, results in scratching that may lead to redness, swelling, cracking, "weeping" of clear fluid, crusting and scaling of the skin. Intensely itchy patches form, which can be widespread or limited to a few areas. Between 10 and 20 percent of people worldwide develop atopic dermatitis, making it the most common type of eczema. Eczema should be treated by a dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment including medication combined with lifestyle changes. There may even be a specific allergen which the dermatologist can discover to help make the eczema better.

Hands/Arms: Sun damage over the years can result in localized spots of hyperpigmentation that appear on the most exposed parts of the body, generally the hands, shoulders and face. Known as age spots or liver spots, these flat, gray, brown or black marks are harmless and don't need treatment. However, because they may be confused with cancerous growths, any new marks should be checked by a physician. For cosmetic reasons, age spots can sometimes be lightened with skin-bleaching products or completely removed with the use of lasers. However, preventing age spots -- by avoiding the sun and using sunscreen -- may be the easiest way to avoid these spots.

Another common skin condition that may flare up in the fall is keratosis pilaris, which consists of rough patches and small, acne-like bumps, usually on the arms and thighs. In fact, keratosis pilaris may improve during the summer months, only to later worsen when the weather changes. This condition is not serious but is difficult to treat. Prescription medications and self-care measures including keeping skin moist can improve the appearance of your skin. Though quite common with young children, keratosis pilaris can occur at any age. Often, keratosis pilaris gradually improves on its own.

Nails: It is not uncommon for nails to start cracking or peeling. Avoiding harsh soaps and the more frequent use of moisturizer is usually the answer.

Feet: A major problem associated with the skin of the feet upon summer's end is dry, cracked heels caused by wearing open backed shoes during the summer. Cracked heel problems can be relatively mild, with dry or flaky skin, to very severe and painful, with hard skin and deep fissures that are prone to bleeding and make walking uncomfortable. Cracked heels can be improved by taking care of the feet by using a natural foot scrub and pumice stone to slough away dead skin and moisturizing with a highly concentrated emollient base, petroleum jelly or a healing, natural oil, such as olive or sesame, urea or alphahydroxy acid. Some prescription creams may be required in resistant cases. If one has certain skin conditions, like psoriasis, scrubbing is not advised.

"While many people look forward to a refreshing, cool autumn after a long, hot summer, it's important to remember that your skin needs to be treated differently as the seasons change," Dr. Fox says. "Changing your beauty and skin care routine regularly, depending on the season, and remaining in close contact with your dermatologist, can keep your skin looking beautiful year round."

Good Housekeeping Reports: Z-CoiL Footwear - Potentially Dangerous Shoes

Good Housekeeping Reports: Z-CoiL Footwear - Potentially Dangerous Shoes

Albuquerque Corporate Office Sends Springy Soled Shoes to WomenÂ’s Magazine Without Qualified Fitters

Port Townsend, WA (PRWEB) February 24, 2005

Good Housekeeping Reports has published a video story on OrganicFramework. com about Z-CoiL pain relief footwear that suggests that the springy soled shoes are unsafe on sticky surfaces and uneven terrain and could cause back strain. http://broadcast. organicframework. com/p/Good-Housekeeping___370.html (http://broadcast. organicframework. com/p/Good-Housekeeping___370.html)

An independent Z-CoiL dealer says the Albuquerque, NM head office sent the 120-year-old womenÂ’s magazine six pair of shoes to be tested for the article. But, the corporate office did not provide qualified personal to fit the shoes to the feet of the Good Housekeeping staff members that participated in the investigative report. Z-CoiL footwear can be adjusted 32 different ways and are custom fitted to customerÂ’s feet by trained individuals. The orthotic foot beds are not sold mail order or online for this very reason.

Z-CoiL owners are posting comments on the OrganicFramework. com forum fuming over the unfavorable results of the Good Housekeeping "test."

Forum Excerpt:

As the owner of three pairs of z-coils, I was astonished at the results of the Good Housekeeping "test."

I have been wearing Z-coils exclusively for over two years now, and know them not to be a tripping hazard. They are VERY stable, comfortable and pain-reducing shoes. I would not trade them for the world.

I am curious as to the conditions under which they performed these tests. Most Z-coil stores have an "obstacle course" of uneven terrain for customers to walk on, to show the exact opposite of the Good Housekeeping test - that Z-coils make rough terrain feel smooth!

The video was also unclear as to whether the shoes were taken "off the shelf" or properly custom-fitted. Each pair of Z-coils is custom fitted to the owner in what is usually an hour or more-long process. If these shoes were not properly fitted, the results of the test cannot be valid.

Informational updates and links on the Z-CoiL/Good Housekeeping story are posted at the Z-Blog Reporter, a syndicated blog: http://z-coil. blogspot. com (http://z-coil. blogspot. com)

Good Housekeeping has its own television news service, which network affiliate stations subscribe to on a market exclusive basis. Each month, the Good Housekeeping Institute creates news stories dealing with consumer issues, health, parenting, and other timely and compelling topics. The news segments are developed from editorial features, proprietary studies and research conducted by the Institute. The Good Housekeeping Reports news segments currently air on over 130 network affiliate stations, reaching 72 percent of all television households. http://www. GoodHousekeeping. com (http://www. Z-CoiL Pain Relief Footwear

The unique patented design of Z-CoiL Footwear, combining a large coil under the heel with a rigid, ¾-length orthotic, is the invention of Z-Tech's Founder and Chairman of the Board, Al Gallegos. Al realized the many injuries he endured as an avid runner were caused by impact. His quest to develop shoes that would reduce the force of impact, while providing proper support, resulted in Z-CoiL Pain Relief Footwear.

Government Grants and Work at Home Jobs Provide The Perfect Christmas Gift

Government Grants and Work at Home Jobs Provide The Perfect Christmas Gift

New Programs Provides Grants, Loans, Work at Home Jobs and Free Credit Repair.

Washington DC (PRWEB) December 13, 2004

If you are searching for the perfect christmas gift, have a family member unemployed or if credit problems are holding you back from starting a business, buying a home or new car, here is important news! Government and private lending institutions are now joining forces to stimulate the national economy and make it easier for women, minorities and people with poor credit ratings to get government grants and low interest loans.

President Bush also announced a breakthrough for Faith Based and Community Organizations. Policies have been lifted which prohibited them from receiving government funding based on religious affiliations. Churches and religious based community organizations can now compete on equal footing for available federal dollars. Terry Newborn, a researcher for Government Publications in Washington, DC, reported, "There are billions of dollars in grants and loans earmarked for people previously identified as credit risks. Public and private funds are now available for them to buy homes, cars, start a business, consolidate debts and any worthwhile purpose." In addition, he reported new financial resources have been committed to help the unemployed get job training and re-enter the job market.

"Now is the time for citizens to act if they need money for any worthwhile purpose," urged Newborn. He also revealed that several reduced-cost and even free programs now exist to benefit economically disadvantaged and recently unemployed persons. Such programs include dental and vision care services, prescription plans and legal aid. The program also includes free postal training manual, government jobs training manuals, applications plus practice tests that help low scorers acheive a higher score when taking civil service exams.

Government Publications offers a CD-Rom that provides the latest information on the above programs. It covers free grant and loan resources available for a wide variety of purposes, including business start-ups. President Bush declared, "The entrepreneurial spirit in America is healthy, It is a great strength of our country. If you feel like you've got what it takes to start a business, if you want to go out on your own, you think you've got a good product, the country says, we welcome you to do so." Mama’s Kitchen Launches Largest Bake Sale in San Diego History

Mama’s Kitchen Launches Largest Bake Sale in San Diego History

Non-profit organization to raise $100,000 as a result of shrinking government funding; Mama’s Pie In The Sky begins Oct. 18, ends Nov. 15

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 20, 2006

The Mama’s Pie In The Sky bake sale is now in it’s second year, and is the largest, organized bake sale of its kind in San Diego (and possibly the West Coast). San Diego’s top bakers, caterers and chefs that include the Sycuan Resort and Casino and The French Gourmet, generously donate delectable holiday pies. These apple, pecan and pumpkin pies are sure to warm the hearts and tables of thousands throughout San Diego County neighborhoods this Thanksgiving. Pies are $20 each, and can be purchased online at http://www. mamaskitchen. org (http://www. mamaskitchen. org).

Every pie sold pays for almost half of each client’s weekly meals – meals they might not have had without Mama’s Kitchen and the support of the community. This year, Mama's Kitchen hopes to sell 5,000 pies and raise $100,000 to directly fund thousands of free, hot nutritious meals and help ensure that no one living with HIV/AIDS or other critical illnesses in the community will go hungry. Clients live in all regions of San Diego County: north to Oceanside, east to Ramona, south to Otay Mesa and Chula Vista as well as central San Diego and the beach communities. Mama's Kitchen has never turned away anyone in need of help and the net proceeds of this year’s Mama’s Pie In The Sky program, sponsored by Wells Fargo, Sycuan Resort and Casino, and JACK 100.7 FM (KFMB), will enable her to keep her promise.

Individuals and business volunteers from throughout San Diego County will pre-sell the pies from Oct. 18 to Nov. 15. Pie buyers can select from more than 30 sites, including selected Wells Fargo Bank locations, throughout San Diego County to pick up their pies on Wed., Nov. 22, the day before the Thanksgiving holiday. Pies can also be purchased online at Mama's Kitchen's Web site (http://www. mamaskitchen. org).

Mission expansion creates new opportunity, challenges.

In February 2006, the Board of Directors officially expanded the organization’s mission to deliver meals to San Diego County residents with critical illnesses under the age of 60 years. The Critical Illness Nutrition Program provides vital nutrition for people struggling with cancer, diabetes, amputations, blindness, ALS, schizophrenia, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

“These new clients need Mama’s Kitchen just as much as our AIDS clients, and our broadened mission means that we serve all of San Diego County, not just those with a particular illness,” says Alberto Cortes, executive director, Mama’s Kitchen. Providing vital nutritional services to clients who are critically ill could reduce medical costs with a value in millions of dollars, in San Diego County alone. Approximately 10% of all clients participate in the Critical Illness Nutrition Program, while 90% of clients are affected by AIDS/HIV.

Mama’s Kitchen is not a “soup kitchen” for people with AIDS or other critical illnesses. “We are a vital component of a patient’s overall healthcare plan and our meals serve as critical nutritional assistance for people at risk of life-threatening weight loss and malnutrition,” says Cortes. A Registered Dietician supervises the meal planning to provide a high-calorie, nutrient-rich diet to supplement the numerous medications taken by most people with AIDS or critical illnesses, many of which are toxic when taken on an empty stomach. With a proper diet, medications work wonders and a person’s quality of life is enhanced and their life-span is increased. Clients are referred to Mama’s Kitchen services by a social services caseworker.

While the mission expansion provides new opportunity for the organization and a solution to thousands in need, Cortes and the Board of Directors are very concerned about funding resources for their core group of clients: men, women, and children affected by AIDS/HIV. Mama’s Kitchen is experiencing a reduction in funding from Ryan White AIDS funding from the federal government to support the organization’s nutritional and meal delivery services. It’s a problem affecting numerous organizations like Mama’s Kitchen throughout the United States. In recent years, Ryan White AIDS funding was 30% of the organization’s annual budget. Now, it is 17%. Funding from local government has also decreased, and currently makes up only 1% of the entire operating budget. The Mama’s Pie in the Sky program hopes to replace this shortfall in funding.

About Mama's Kitchen

Mama's Kitchen was founded in 1990 when volunteers from the AIDS Assistance Fund, a food bank for people with AIDS, discovered that many of their clients were becoming too ill to take care of themselves. They realized that a reliable home meal delivery service was needed to ensure that these individuals would continue to receive nutritious food. Today, Mama's Kitchen prepares and delivers three meals a day for every day of the week to about 300 men, women, and children affected by AIDS or other critical illnesses in San Diego County. Mama’s Kitchen is located at 1875 Second Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101. For more information, visit the Mama's Kitchen's Web site (http://www. mamaskitchen. org).

New Company Formed to Produce Interactive Fun-to-Play Christian Games Digital Praise Inc. to Encourage Positive Values Through Top-Quality Gaming Titles Without Violence, Sex, Hate or Horror

– Christian entertainment takes a step forward today with the formal announcement of Digital Praise Inc., a new company formed to produce high-quality interactive Christian games. Digital Praise is committed to releasing fun, exciting game titles that promote virtues and family values like forgiveness, tolerance and kindness, rather than the violent and sexual behavior that is the mainstay of most popular computer games today. Privately held by company founders, Digital Praise is located in Fremont, CA.

Fremont, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2004

Christian entertainment takes a step forward today with the formal announcement of Digital Praise Inc., a new company formed to produce high-quality interactive Christian games.

“Digital Praise is founded on the principle that fun, exciting computer games don’t need to be flooded with violence, sex, hate or images of horror,” said Tom Bean, president and CEO of Digital Praise. “Our goal is to produce top-quality gaming titles that promote positive values while providing hours of exciting game play that will keep players coming back for more.”

Digital Praise is actively involved in the development of titles for release under its own brand and for third parties. The company is currently working on a series of interactive games based on Focus on the Family’s world-renowned Adventures in Odyssey® radio program. Digital Praise has secured the electronic rights for this popular radio series that has aired for 18 years and boasts over 1.2 million listeners each day. Digital Praise announced its agreement with Focus on the Family in a separate joint release today. The company expects to announce the first two Adventures in Odyssey computer game titles next week at the Christian Booksellers Association International 2004 convention. In addition, Digital Praise has completed Hamtaro: Wake Up Snoozer!, its first third-party development project for Riverdeep – The Learning Company.

Digital Praise has assembled a high-powered team of computer gaming industry veterans who among them have released over 20 popular game titles including perennial favorites Carmen Sandiego, Reader Rabbit and Oregon Trail. CTO Peter Fokos, himself a 22-year veteran of the entertainment software industry with such industry giants as The Learning Company and Disney Interactive, said of the company’s engineering team, “We’ve pulled together a group of developers, producers, artists and audio engineers as fine as any I’ve ever worked with. This is the kind of group that will keep producing award-winning titles and best sellers.”

Christian Games: Market Opportunity

An enormous appetite exists for Christian entertainment in various forms. The recent success of Christian music, books, movies, television and art is a testament to the importance of Christian content in all media. There is also strong growth in the U. S. entertainment software industry— sales jumped 8% in 2003 to $7 billion1. Recognizing growth in both the Christian entertainment and the software entertainment markets, Digital Praise predicts healthy demand in the emerging interactive Christian games market.

“We see a tremendous opportunity in the interactive Christian games market, an industry estimated between $100 and $200 million in annual sales,” said Bill Bean, vice president of sales and marketing. “As long as new game titles are top quality—offering exciting game play and high production value—we believe that interactive Christian games will skyrocket in popularity much like Christian music did 15 years ago.”

Digital Praise is a pioneer in the emerging interactive Christian games industry, joining companies like Big Idea, NÂ’Lightning, and others in the effort to prove that violence, horror and hatred are not necessary components of exciting, fun game play.

“N’Lightning products have received enormous praise from all parts of the world for their challenging play, innovative stories, and overall creative quality—proving that Christian titles can have you on the edge of your seat,” said Ralph Bagley, CEO of N’Lightning Software Development, whose Christian action games have sold over 100,000 copies worldwide. He added, “Families, in increasing numbers, are saying no to entertainment products that undermine the values they consider essential. In the years to come, the current vanguard of Christian computer game publishers is certain to emerge as an important voice in the entertainment software industry.”

About Digital Praise Inc.

Digital Praise (www. digitalpraise. com) is an independent developer and publisher of interactive Christian games for kids, teens, adults and parents. The company produces games that are designed for families looking to enjoy interactive entertainment software that promotes virtues and family values like cooperation, forgiveness, tolerance and kindness, without the violence, hatred, horror and sex that fills computer gaming today. The company’s goal is to equivocate the Digital Praise brand with “just good clean fun.” Focus on the Family has granted Digital Praise the rights to publish interactive games based on its world-renowned radio program, Adventures in Odyssey. The company is located in Fremont, CA.

HCG Diet Direct Cites Connection Between Weight And Mental Health

Over weight and/or obese individuals experience a higher risk of mental health issues including: depression, anxiety, social isolation, and poor psychological adjustment. Jenny Boynton of HCG Diet Direct urges potential dieters, “Losing weight will affect so many things but importantly it can affect your day to day attitude."

Phoenix, AZ (Vocus) January 10, 2010

Overweight and/or obese individuals experience a higher risk of mental health issues including: depression, anxiety, social isolation, and poor psychological adjustment. A large portion of overweight or obese individuals suffer from severe low self esteem issues that are exacerbated by chronic weight problems. According to the National Insitute of Mental Health, obesity (defined as a body mass index, of 30 or higher) was associated with a 25 percent increase in the likelihood of major depression, bipolar disorder and panic disorder.

Jenny Boynton of HCG Diet Direct urges potential dieters, “Losing weight will affect so many things but importantly it can affect your day to day attitude. Low self esteem issues contribute to everything from job retention to marriage success rates.” Attaining a healthy weight not only decreases the risk of mental health issues but it decreases the risk of common weight related diseases including heart disease and cancer.

HCG Diet Direct specializes in a natural weight loss program using homeopathic HCG (https://www. hcgdietdirect. com/secured/) and a very low calorie diet. HCG Diet Direct reports that dieters are able to see an average of 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per day if the diet is followed as instructed. Diet plans range from 26-30 days to 40 days. Further information on the advantages of the natural homeopathic HCG diet (http://www. hcgdietdirect. com/hcgoverweight. html) plans can be found online at HCGDietDirect. com.

ShippingOnly. com Marks First Anniversary of Giving Away Free Products to Consumers and Training People with Disabilities

ShippingOnly. com - the only charitable website that gives away free consumer products - celebrtates its first anniversary today.

Hauppauge, NY (PRWEB) February 28, 2006

ShippingOnly. com marked its first anniversary of operations today. ShippingOnly. com is one of the only places online where every product featured is absolutely free. There are no coupons, no other purchases required, no membership fees, no spam and no strings attached. Consumers simply pay for shipping and handling.

Every time a free product is claimed from ShippingOnly. com, all shipping and handling fees benefit the Long Island Network of Community Services (LINCS) a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit agency providing regional health and human services on Long Island. Product sorting and order packaging is routinely handled by a team of 8-10 young people with disabilities as part of a professionally-supervised vocational training program.

The products on ShippingOnly. com are donated by manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers, and generally have a value much greater than the modest shipping and handling fee. New items are posted daily, with the very best items released each Tuesday morning. Most are snapped up quickly, however, the site features more than 300 different free items at any given time. Among the items currently available on ShippingOnly. com are books, CDs, DVDs, computer equipment, jewelry, baby gifts, toys, fashion accessories and designer clothing.

“Our first year of operation has been quite successful,” said LINCS Managing Director Dr. Gail Barouh. “We have attracted a great customer base, dramatically expanded our product selection and added more features to our website. We expect to scale new heights in 2006,” she added.

With government funding shrinking and people contributing less locally due to recent disaster relief efforts, LINCS has piloted this innovative method of online fundraising. It’s an exciting venture and a win-win situation for the organization as well as the consumer. A worthy charity receives critical financial support, consumers get free merchandise and people with special needs gain valuable job training experience.

Lakeville, MA (PRWEB) August 4, 2006

From July 9th through July 13th, LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville, MA hosted the third annual LeBaron Hills Open in as many years as they welcomed the New England Pro Golf Tour to participate in a 54-hole tournament. The Tour held their second event of the 2006 season here as 120 golf professionals from across the United States and Canada gathered to compete for a purse of more than $100,000.

The golfers began their week on Sunday with an 18-hole practice round while Monday was designated for a Professional Amateur event. Tuesday through Thursday continued with subsequent rounds of the Tournament as pairings teed off from the 1st and 10th holes at LeBaron Hills. All participants played in the first two rounds while Thursday was reserved for the top forty-six (46) players who made the cut. After having two of the first three events cancelled this season due to inclement weather, members of the New England Pro Golf Tour were anxious to resume play. LeBaron Hills, along with the weather, may have been difficult but several of the golfers showed that they were up to the challenge by finishing well under par.

“We come to LeBaron Hills because it was recommended to us and it sets up well for pros,” said Andrew Dearborn, Tour Director. “The course length, difficulty, quality and maintenance resemble that of the courses on the PGA Tour.”

Todd Westfall, Champion of the LeBaron Hills Open commented on the course saying “It just seems to fit my eye. The LeBaron Hills course suits the way that I hit the ball.”

This victory marked the third career Pro Golf win for Westfall as his first came two years ago at the 2004 LeBaron Hills Open. He finished with a score of eleven under par for the tournament while second place finisher Bryan Omelia had a strong showing with 10 under. Third place went to Eric Egloff with a score of nine under par, respectively. It’s Time To Learn More About Keeping Fish Healthy

It’s Time To Learn More About Keeping Fish Healthy

FocusOnFishHealth. org Offers Simple Steps

(Vocus) March 31, 2010

Just in time for spring, anglers and recreational boaters (http://www. FocusOnFishHealth. org) in the nation’s midsection are hearing disturbing news about their recreational waterways.

With evidence that the voracious Asian carp is threatening the Great Lakes and that the contagious fish disease VHS, or viral hemorrhagic septicemia, is now in waters as far north and west as Lake Superior, fishing (http://www. FocusOnFishHealth. org) and boating enthusiasts might be concerned that their favorite spots may be ruined. The United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) notes that prime waters can still be protected by the people who use them, particularly small bodies of water, streams and rivers where diseases and destructive invaders have not been detected.

APHIS offers a list of surprisingly simple steps to be taken to preserve the health of wild fish (http://www. FocusOnFishHealth. org) species for generations to come:

1. Thoroughly clean and dry all fishing and boating equipment including bait buckets, boots, boats, and trailers with HOT water.
2. Empty all water from equipment including buckets and bilges.
3. Remove all visible mud, plants and aquatic life from equipment before transporting.

BoxTone Management Software v4.0 for BlackBerry Platform Unveiled at Gartner Wireless & Mobile Summit

BoxTone Management Software v4.0 for BlackBerry Platform Unveiled at Gartner Wireless & Mobile Summit

Today at the Gartner Wireless & Mobile Summit, BoxTone(R), the expert in mobile user management, unveiled BoxTone v4.0, the next major version of its management, monitoring and support software solution for the BlackBerry platform.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 24, 2009

Today at the Gartner Wireless & Mobile Summit, BoxTone(R), the expert in mobile user management, unveiled the next major version of its management, monitoring and support software solution for the BlackBerry platform.

Building on the proven ROI experienced by more than 190 BoxTone clients worldwide representing 415,000 BlackBerry smartphone users, BoxTone v4.0 arrives just in time for IT support staff pressured to maximize productivity while minimizing mobility cost to serve.

"Enterprise and agency IT organizations cannot afford to throw more and more resources at mobility management and support challenges," said Alan Snyder, CEO, BoxTone. "BoxTone v4.0 bridges the mobility support gap, with new levels of automation to help control mobility costs, proactively prevent mobility issues and enable faster resolutions when issues do occur. Mobile deployments will continue to grow, fueled by their undeniable productivity gains. But any CIO looking for economies of scale should consider BoxTone v4.0 a mobility platform imperative."

Designed for both IT mobility pros and new support teams looking to simplify mobility, BoxTone v4.0 features several mobile management breakthroughs including: new SmartAdvisors that leverage analytics and industry best practices to recommend detailed actions to improve system health and performance; new "1-Click Fix-It" capabilities for Help Desk staff to instantly identify and then with a single click correctly resolve mobile user issues; enhanced SmartAlerts that proactively warn of platform issues sooner with root cause and simple repair instructions; and improved Expense Management for easier tracking, control and charge-back allocation of department-level mobility support and service expenses (eg. roaming and utilization).

BoxTone v4.0 also includes expanded industrial-strength configurability and scalability, including Active Directory support, regional service domain grouping, native 64-bit support and certification of linear scale beyond 2 million transaction flows per hour. The software continues to support both the Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino platforms, and will be certified with BlackBerry Enterprise Server v.5.0 upon its release.

To learn more about the cost savings possible using BoxTone v4.0, and to run a personalized analysis using the BoxTone ROI Calculator, click here (http://www. boxtone. com/roi).

At a top 5 U. S. Commercial Bank, BoxTone software has already helped automate what the IT mobility team previously did manually, while enabling whole new classes of people to perform sophisticated management and diagnostic tasks without being a BlackBerry expert, and without having to access a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Said a Senior Systems Analyst spokesperson: "I can say definitively that BoxTone software is saving us on average more than 30 minutes per inbound call. The software has truly streamlined our BlackBerry support."

In Predicts 2009: Mobile and Wireless Continue to Mature, research and advisory firm Gartner reported: "The mobile telephony area will defy the economic slowdown, showing minimal effects of the downturn. This will entrench mobile telephony as a basic human necessity … IT organizations will simplify wireless e-mail strategies, with mobile capabilities converging in IT infrastructure, more interoperability with mobile devices and reduced costs. They will be able to pursue more consolidation of IT investments." (Source: Gartner Predicts 2009: Mobile and Wireless Continue to Mature, by Ken Dulaney, Tole J. Hart, Nick Jones, Monica Basso, December 5, 2008).

BoxTone software helps organizations of all sizes control mobility costs while improving service levels, with plug-and-play modules for: Asset, Expense & Compliance Management, to unlock and control critical mobile data while recovering 3-8% in costs from under-utilized devices; Incident Management, to proactively warn of pending issues before users call while cutting mean time to repair (MTTR) by 70-80%; Problem Management, to proactively tune system performance and resolve chronic issues, reducing costly incidents by 30%-40%; Service Desk Management, useable by even novice staff to resolve inbound mobile user support calls in less than 3 minutes, the first time, cutting MTTR and reducing escalations by 70-80%; and User Self-Service, so end users can prevent and resolve their own mobile issues, reducing service desk calls by 30-40%.

Internal BoxTone customer surveys routinely return satisfaction and renewal rates at or near 98 percent. Snyder cites two main sources for these exceptional numbers: the BoxTone Advanced Performance Lab, which uses rigorous methodologies, industry best practices and customer and partner input to design, build, certify and support the company's software; and the company's team of BlackBerry-Certified Experts, who help train clients on industry best practices, provide services to optimize BlackBerry environments and choose the right software modules that can meet their needs and generate maximum ROI in the shortest period of time.

"Indeed, we are so confident in the quality, support and cost-control capabilities of BoxTone v4.0, that we are continuing the unprecedented guarantee that we introduced earlier this year," said Snyder. "Organizations that make BoxTone v4.0 their first BoxTone purchase can, if they are not completely satisfied, return the software at no cost, with no further obligation. It is an extraordinary offer rarely extended by enterprise vendors upon a major new release, but we continue to believe it is the right thing to do for the organizations and users that depend on the BlackBerry platform."

Details on the BoxTone guarantee can be found here (http://www. boxtone. com/About/Guarantee. aspx).

BoxTone v4.0 is now commercially available. Interested organizations are encouraged to visit www. boxtone. com or call +1 410-910-3344 for more information.

OPC-3 the Top OPC Anti-aging Antioxidant and Super Effective Free Radical Neutralizer

OPC-3 the Top OPC Anti-aging Antioxidant and Super Effective Free Radical Neutralizer

Dr Robert Goldman and Dr Rondald Katz have explained how OPC's are nature's potent antioxidant defense in their book "The Anti-Aging Revolution". Now find out why OPC-3 is the forerunner of this powerful anti-aging antioxidant.

(PRWEB) May 21, 2005

www. Mystichealth. org offers OPC-3 an anti-aging antioxidant that is a super effective free radical neutralizer.

History of OPC-3

In 1534, French explorer Jacques Cartier was leading an expedition up the St. Lawrence River. Trapped by bad weather, Cartier and his crew were forced to survive on a ration of salted meat and biscuits. Cartier's crew began to suffer from severe deficiency of vitamin C and showed symptoms of scurvy. Many crewmembers died before the surviving members encountered a friendly Native American who saved most of their lives. He told them to make a tea from the bark and needles of the pine tree to cure their malady. They complied and, as a result, Cartier and many crewmembers survived.

Some 400 years later, Professor Jacques Masquelier of the University of Bordeaux, France, read a book by Cartier detailing their expedition. He concluded that pine bark not only contained some vitamin C, but obviously was a good source of bioflavonoids, whose effects are similar to those of vitamin C. Further studies and research revealed that the pine bark contained an array of proanthocyanidins complexes. These compounds were also found in a variety of plants, including grape seeds, cranberries, peanut skin, lemon tree bark and citrus rinds. Masquelier termed the active ingredients of the pine bark "pycnogenols", which today are referred to in the scientific community as oligomeric proanthocyanidins, or OPCs.

OPC'S Outstanding Safety Record

OPCs have been used in Europe under medical supervision for over 30 years with no reports of adverse effects. Over one million people worldwide utilize these valuable bioflavonoids daily. OPCs have been tested time and time again for safety by conventional, scientific methods at leading research centers worldwide including the Pasteur Institute. OPCs have been found to be non-toxic, non-antigenic, non-teratogenic, non-mutagenic, and non-carcinogenic.

What makes OPC-3 different from other pycnogenol products?

OPC-3 offers three rich sources of OPC that are rated highest in total polyphenol content averaging 92%. It is totally bioavailable, water-soluble and delivered the way nature intended it to be, in an isotonic solution. With the Isotonix formulation, this product is in position to be absorbed within five minutes. This combination makes OPC-3 the most powerful natural free radical scavenger, anti-aging, and anti-oxidant product yet discovered.

OPC-3 is a powerful combination of plant derived bioflavonoids, know as oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC's). It is made from a combination of grape seed, pine bark and red wine extracts in addition to bilberry and citrus extracts. These OPC's are super effective free radical neutralizers. They are not limited to being strong antioxidants, they are also crucial in their role in supporting the circulatory system and strengthening the capillaries. OPC-3 is a natural food supplement that should be taken for a lifetime.

OPC-3™ contains a combination of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) from sources that include grape seed, red wine and pine bark† extracts. The grape seed extract is the superior source of OPCs, containing 92% of active ingredients over pine bark's 84% of active OPC ingredients.* The red wine extract contains flavonoids called leucocyanidins from the skin of red grapes. Leucocyanidins are bioflavonoids with powerful antioxidant properties crucial to their role in supporting the circulatory system. OPC-3™ also contains bilberry and citrus extracts, which are known to have effects of vision and histamine release, respectively. Together, this combination of OPC is superior to any OPC on the market in active ingredients and isotonic capability. This powerful formula will be delivered to your system the way nature intended it to be - in an isotonic solution that maximizes absorption. OPC-3™ has a pleasant natural grape flavor, is a vegetarian product, and mixes instantly when added to water. This product should be taken on an empty stomach for the fastest, most effective delivery of the active ingredient.

*Percentages established by D. Marie-Claude Dumon, University of Bordeaux, France †Pine bark reference to pycnogenol source.

Learning how OPC-3™ Works

Our bodies are made up of billions of molecules held together by electromagnetic forces. These chemical bonds are created with paired electrons. Free radicals are unstable molecules that have lost an electron and are unbalanced. Free radicals seek to replace the lost electron by randomly attacking nearby molecules and extracting desired electrons. One free radical can damage a million or more molecules in a chain reaction referred to as radical propagation, which leads to oxidative stress. Uncontrolled oxidation is very destructive.

It is analogous to effects we see in our environment, such as the rusting of metal, the rotting of meat, the browning of apples or the hardening of old rubber. Oxidation in our body by free radicals is thought to be responsible for premature aging, wrinkling of skin, hardening of arteries, stiffening of joints, formation of cataracts, the initiation of cancer and much more. We are constantly exposed to free radicals via such processes as antimicrobial activity by white blood cells and the absorption of chemical additives in our foods. Our ability to fight free radical damage effectively is compromised by our inadequate nutritional choices or diets that contain limited amounts of antioxidants. Antioxidant supplementation is necessary if we are unable to reduce our exposure to free radicals, but wish to counter their effect. OPCs should be taken in conjunction with foods or dietary supplements rich in vitamin C, vitamin e, beta-carotene, and selenium, to name a few antioxidants.

Www. Mystichealth. org provides OPC-3 and a wide variety of nutritional supplements, anti-aging products, and skin care products. For more information or to place orders, please visit www. mystichealth. org today.
