During the simple ATM-style log-on procedure, the CRYPTO-Admin authentication server generates an unguessable one-time 'Secure Password' that is only valid for the current logon attempt, eliminating any opportunity for an unauthorized user to gain network access via a stolen password. Additionally, the solution never transmits a user's PIN over the network, where it would be vulnerable to 'sniffer' technology.

S. military troops that are scheduled to be deployed at the expected time of the birth of their baby. The program also provides, free of charge, Labor Doula Support to the pregnant wives of the U. S. Military members which have become widowed as a direct result of September 11th or the subsequent war.

Some gave their lives. Some gave blood. Some gave money. Some gave time and physical strength. Others are giving their hearts.

In response to the September 11 terrorist attack on America, Doulas across the country stand ready to respond, similar to military troops, to any family who needs their assistance.

Doulas are trained childbirth professionals who provide a continuity of care that is not provided by any other single childbirth professional. They focus on the emotional needs of their clients and attend to them during the latter part of pregnancy and continuously throughout their labor. Postpartum Doulas work with new families well into the postpartum period.

More than ten known studies indicate that Doulas have dramatically positive effects on the labor process. These effects include shorter labors, fewer complications, fewer cesarean births, fewer requests for pain medications, and healthier babies.

The fees for Doula Services vary from $100 to $1,000, depending on the location and the individual Doula. Doulas throughout the United States have formed Operation Special Delivery, which is an effort to provide much-needed Doula Services at no charge to any woman whose husband or partner has been called or will be called into active military duty and will therefore not be able to attend the birth of their baby.

Operation Special Delivery was created by Patricia Newton, a Doula in southern New Jersey, who felt a need to help the families greatly affected by the tragedies of September 11. Fully aware of the immeasurable impact childbirth has on a family, and specifically on a woman, she placed a request for volunteer Doulas in New Jersey, and the response was immediate. Surprisingly, the project quickly spread to neighboring states Pennsylvania and Delaware, and within one week, twenty states across the country had joined Operation Special Delivery.

The services are now offered nationwide, with twenty-five states being involved with Operation Special Delivery. The remaining twenty-five states are being led under its sister project, Operation Doula Care. As a group, these Doulas are enthused about supporting the United States Military in this manner.

Many military wives have written "thank you" notes to this organization, expressing their gratitude because of the great need they know these Doulas are meeting. Military bases are also welcoming this project and are promoting this service directly to their families.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has partnered with Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, a non-profit organization providing financial assistance to the Coast Guard community, in an effort to maximize the efforts of Operation Life Ring.

Operation Life Ring (www. operationlifering. org) was set up by the Coast Guard Auxiliary to benefit both Auxiliarists, as well as Active Duty, Reserve, and Civilian members and their families who have become victims of Hurricane Katrina.

"The Association is teaming with Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) to leverage the donated funds we have available with their funds and those provided by the Coast Guard Foundation." said Gene Seibert, the National Commodore of the Auxiliary, as well as the President of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Association (CGAuxA), whose overarching mission is to provide for the fiscal health of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary by generating the income required to sustain all its present and future program needs.

"This partnership will significantly increase the funds available to all our affected Coast Guard family members. We will work with CGMA to identify Auxiliarists and guide them and other Coast Guard family members to CGMA representatives in the Gulf Coast region."

Tasked with the responsibility to match dollars to need, Como Seibert called upon Past Commodore Joseph Taylor, who will interact with the Coast Guard Auxiliary 8th District, Coastal Region's Commodore, Jim Vass, as well as the CGMA.

New travel survey from Pink Choice provides some interesting information on the gay travel industry in 2009-2010

The results shed some light on the health and direction of gay travel in 2009 and going into 2010. Over 500 individuals completed the survey.

The Economy is Impacting Gay Travel

Fifty-six percent of respondents said that the current economy had affected their travel plans and that they would be spending less on travel than in previous years. However, 63% said that they had not needed to shorten their vacations and 54% had already booked their trips for 2010. “The gay travel market has been impacted by the bad economy but people are still traveling. They may be looking to spend a bit less but as the results show, many are already booking for 2010,” said Stephen Mascilo, a co-founder of Pink Choice.

Gay Travelers Prefer Staying in Gay Owned Establishments

Seventy-one percent of respondents preferred to stay in an accommodation that was gay/lesbian owned and operated. That’s not surprising but over 50% indicated they weren’t bothered one way or the other. “We were surprised that over 50% of the respondents said they would be comfortable staying in a non gay owned establishment. It might reflect society’s changing attitudes towards gay and lesbian travelers,” said Stephen. Future surveys will examine this question further.

Price is the Main Factor for Choosing Travel Arrangements

When it comes to travel arrangements, less than 15% of members said they choose an airline specifically because of its GLBT policy. Based on this data, airlines that have spent time and money promoting gay friendly flights may not see much return. Over 50% said ticket price was a major deciding factor and 35% based their decision on flight schedules.

Q. Who will need to have health insurance?
A. Every legal resident will be required to buy health insurance. Subsidies will be available to individuals and families who meet certain financial criteria, based upon the so-called “poverty level.” For residents who don’t follow the government mandate, penalties will be levied.

Q. Are employers required to provide health insurance for their employees?
A. No, but they would need to pay a penalty if any employee uses the government subsidy to purchase insurance. Any company with more than 50 employees could face a penalty of $750 per worker, multiplied by the total number of full-time workers it employs, if just one worker obtains subsidized coverage on his or her own.

Q. Where will I get my medical insurance?
A. It is anticipated that most medical insurance will continue to be employer-related. Persons without employer-provided insurance will apparently be directed to a state-based insurance exchange.

Q. When would the legislation actually kick in?
A. For the most part, not until 2014, although taxes necessary to pay for the plan would be implemented immediately.

Q. Will my premiums go down?
A. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the average premiums for a nongroup policy in 2016 will be $5,800 for single coverage and $15,200 for a family. For small groups, the average premium per policy will be “in the vicinity of $7,800 and $19,200.” For large groups (50+ employees), the averages are estimated to be $7,400 and $20,300.

Rolens says there is still much uncertainty about what a final healthcare bill, if passed, will look like. “The Senate bill needs to be somehow reconciled with the House version,” she points out, “and there are any number of stumbling blocks, large and small, which might be encountered.”

Study Reveals Men Really Do Have a Heart: Cause Marketing Wins with Men; Majority of Brands Yet to Respond

Contrary to popular belief, men are revealed to be nearly as attracted to cause marketing as women. Cause marketing is soaring in popularity with 75% of CMOs saying they engage in cause marketing programs. Yet 68% of CMOs say they have no plans to direct their cause efforts towards men.

The first survey of men in the six-year history of The PRWeek/Barkley Cause Survey has uncovered surprising data regarding men’s attraction to brands that have a cause marketing program. Running contrary to the natural assumption that women are solely attracted to cause programs, 88% of men say it’s important for a brand to support a cause, 61% have purchased a brand because it supported a cause, 67% would try a brand because it supported a cause, and 55% would pay more for a brand that supported a cause. “The Boomer generation has carved out the path toward looking at cause marketing as an important way to con¬nect with consumers,” said Mike Swenson, President, Barkley Public Relations. “But even more so do Gen X and Gen Y Millennials, who view it as something that must be done. That’s why we’re seeing the numbers we do with men. It’s no longer a gender issue.”

While men overwhelming direct their dollars toward cause, 68% of corporate marketing executives say they have no plans to target men with their cause efforts. This at a time when there has been an explosion of cause efforts. 75% of brands now engage in cause marketing (up from 58% in 2009) and 97% of marketing executives believe it to be a valid business strategy.

One of the most interesting findings of this year’s survey came in the verbatim answers from consumers. When asked to iden¬tify companies that are not doing cause programs but should be, the most common consumer responses were BP, Apple and Goldman Sachs.

While men care about cause nearly as much as women, there were distinct differences between the two. When it comes to which causes they support, men chose children/education and women chose health (per 2009 Cause Survey data). Yet when it came to health, 94% of men said they were comfortable supporting causes that addressed prostate cancer, AIDS or heart disease.

The PRWeek/Barkley Cause Survey was conducted by CAWalker from August 12-23, 2010. E-mail notification was sent to approximately 4,252 marketing pros and 2,365 consumers. A total of 79 PR and marketing pros and 536 male consumers completed the survey online. The results are not weighted and are statistically tested at a confidence level of 90%.
